Amanda Serrano vs. Reina Tellez – Substantial Fight Preview and Predictions
Amanda Serrano hopes to get back to winning ways after back-to-back losses when she defends her unified featherweight world titles against Reina Tellez on Saturday in Puerto Rico.
Jake Paul’s top promos are promoting the Serrano vs. Tellez fight, and the fight is being televised worldwide on DAZN.
Serrano (47-4-1, 31 KO) returns to featherweight, where he holds the WBA, WBO and Ring Magazine titles.
The 37-year-old has moved up to super lightweight in her last two fights, trying to take revenge for her loss to Katie Taylor in April 2022.
After another controversial loss of points to her Irish rival last November, Serrano was beaten quite convincingly third performance in July in New York.
Tellez (13-0-1, 5 KO) looks to spoil his homecoming here and is fighting for his first world title fight.
After a technical draw in her professional debut, the 22-year-old scored 13 rebounding wins and five by knockout.
Tellez is increasing his weight after his last two fights in the super bantamweight division.
Han-Holm fight for the world title
Stephanie Han defends her WBA lightweight title for the second time against Holly Holm.
Han (11-0, 3 KO) became world champion in February, defeating Hannah Terlep in the first round to capture the vacant crown in her hometown of El Paso.
The 35-year-old defended her belt after a points victory over Paulina Angel in August.
Holm (34-2-3, 9 KO) ended a 12-year break from joining the UFC in June with a unanimous decision over Yolanda Vega in California.
At the age of 44, this may be Holm’s last chance for a fairy-tale ending to his historic career.
Bridges returns
Former IBF bantamweight world champion Ebanie Bridges returns to action after more than two years away, and the Australian is dating Alexis Araiza Mones.
Bridges (9-2, 4 KO) lost her IBF crown in a points defeat to Miyo Yishida in December 2023, then took a break from the sport after giving birth to her first child with partner and fellow former world champion Kell Brook.
Mones (3-2-1, 1 KO) in July after losing by unanimous decision to Nayeli Rodriguez.
Undercard remaining
Puerto Rico’s Yankiel Rivera Figueroa (7-0-1, 3 KO) should defend his interim WBA flyweight title by defeating Jonathan Gonzalez (28-4-1, 14 KO), who was sidelined in all four losses.
The hosts’ favorite Henry Lebron (20-0, 10 KO) can defeat Juan Tapia (14-4, 5 KO) at a distance and remain undefeated.
Featherweight hope Jan Paul Rivera-Pizarro (13-0, 7 KO) should stop another Puerto Rican Alfredo Cruz (10-3-1, 5 KO) before the end of the scheduled eight-round fight.

In six-round fights under Serrano, Krystal Rosado-Ortiz (7-1, 2 KO) should get back to winning ways with a points victory over Tania Walters (7-3, 2 KO) at bantamweight, and Abner Figueroa Cotto (7-0, 1 KO) can do the same against Edwin Rodriguez (12-9-3, 5 KO) also at 118 pounds.
Middleweight Alexis Chaparro (6-0, 6 KO) can maintain his perfect record after another stoppage, this time over Augusto Leal Salazar (3-0, 1 KO).
In the super bantamweight division, Chris Echevarria (9-1, 4 kos) can give Gabriel Bernardi Cruz (7-3, 3 kos) a third defeat in a row.
In the super featherweight division, Yandiel Lozano (2-0) can score points by defeating Johniel Ramos Cotto (3-2-1, 1 KO), and Elise Soto (9-0, 8 KO) should stop Liliana Martinez (25-23, 16 KO).
Caleb Josue Tirado Pagan has a four-round victory in his professional debut against fellow bantamweight newcomer Justin Hill.

Johnny Nelson MBE has commented on a potential clash between Rico Verhoeven and Anthony Joshua.
Nelson reflected on Verhoeven’s recent performance and the traits he saw that could cause problems for Joshua.
“AJ” and the kickboxing icon were scheduled to fight earlier this year as it looked like Verhoeven would have his first boxing fight in over 14 years.
Initial plans were scrapped after Joshua became involved in wa terrible accident in Nigeria just 10 days after beating Jake Paul.
Nelson talked to Daily mail box about how he thought the contest might have gone.

“I think he took a good turn. I think he took a turn that could have ended his career.
“Because Rico was powerful and substantial, there were shots that missed Usyk’s chin.”
Instead, the “King of Kickboxing” faced two-time undisputed heavyweight world champion Oleksandr Usyk.
He entered the field as a much weaker player and many expected the Ukrainian to win his 25th career victory.
Verhoeven pushed the defending champion for 11 rounds, with one of the judges’ scorecards favoring him before the fight was stopped.
After Usyk released him, referee Mark Lyson stepped in and stopped the fight, even though Verhoeven wanted to continue.
“Remember, Rico is used to being kicked in the head by bigger men, so ‘AJ’ has strength and accuracy.
“If he doesn’t get rid of him first and Rico keeps holding him and twisting and using that physicality on him…
“You know what, it shouldn’t be like this, but now we know what he means. If it was “AJ”, Rico would have his number.”
After the defeat, he spoke to Verhoeven Sun boxing and revealed his disappointment at the end of the competition.
“It’s a mistake. This is a championship fight!

“They would never stop this fight [if Usyk was hurt in the 11th round]. Never! They would let him go down and keep his hands up for the rest of the round.
“That’s the only thing I’m looking for. Just say, ‘Yes, you’re right.’
“If it had been the other way around or with any other boxer, we would have done it differently.
“It goes both ways.”
A fight between the two seems unlikely in the near future considering Joshua’s return to the ring on July 25.
In Saudi Arabia, he will face Kristian Prenga, wanting to organize the long-awaited fight with Tyson Fury.
