There will be a lot on the line when Canelo Alvarez places his undisputed medium -sized championship on the line against Terenka Crawford on September 13 in Las Vegas, live in Netflix. But to add additional motivation, Turki Alalshikh, chairman of General Entertainment Authority and president of the Saudi Boxing Federation, announced that there would be a prime minister for a knockout.
The announcement took place during the pressure of Kickoff for Canelo-Crawford, Riyjada, Saudi Arabia on Friday. Alalshikh was unwavering in the end of the “Tom & Jerry Fights”, where one warrior “runs around the ring and another warrior chases him.” To counteract this, he installed the KO bonus, which will be implemented in the future fights, which he promotes, starting from Canelo-Crawford.
“We won’t have [Tom & Jerry fights] Already, “said Alalshikh. “We will have in this fight and our next fights with the Bonus for the KO.”
Alalshikh did not specify how much the bonus would be or whether it would be installed on the card. The implementation reflects what his promoting partner, the general director of UFC, Dana White, uses in UFC with performance bonuses.
As for fighters, Canelo and Crawford were cordial, but strict in their confidence in the upcoming fight.
“However, I could fight, I will win,” said Crawford (41-0, 31 KO). “I will not let someone else tell me how to fight when I do it all my life. I will not run it to you. I can tell you this. But I will be a lot touching.”
Canelo (62-2-2, 39 KO) suggested that “there was nothing else” in Crawford compared to his previous opponents and clearly stated that he would prevent the former two-level world champion from leaving Las Vegas as the only male boxing warrior who would not be unquestioned in three different weight classes.
“He doesn’t intend to beat me,” said Canelo. “Don’t worry about it … I’m a winner.”
Crawford knocked out 11 out of the last 12 opponents, but he will jump up two weight classes, from 154 to 168 pounds to challenge the Mexican superstar. Not only does he believe that his record will remain flavored, but also will create history, adding all the four main lanes of the world title in the record branch of the third weight.
“Certainly these belts are coming home with me,” said Crawford. “I take them and you can’t aid it, come to the fight.”
