UFC 329 live blog: King Green vs. Terrance McKinney

This is the UFC 329 live blog for King Green vs. Terrance McKinney, the main card lightweight bout Saturday at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.
Green (35-17, 1 NC) is one of the most experienced fighters on the UFC roster, sporting a record of 16-12-1 (1 NC) inside the octagon. He finds himself on an unlikely win streak, having recently knocked off Jeremy Stephens, Daniel Zellhuber, and Lance Gisbon Jr. With a win Saturday, Green will have strung together more than three victories for the first time since 2012.
While this matchup is unpredictable, one thing is almost guaranteed: McKinney (18-8) will make sure this fight doesn't go the scorecards. In 26 pro bouts, including 13 UFC appearances, McKinney has never had a fight end without someone getting knocked out or submitted. McKinney is the winner more often than not, and always in spectacular fashion as all eight of his UFC wins have come in the first round. On the flip-side, McKinney's past two losses have also come inside of a round, so there's no telling if he will be the hammer or the nail against Green.

This is the UFC 329 live blog for Brandon Royval vs. Lone'er Kavanagh, the main card flyweight bout Saturday at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.
A one-time title challenger, Royval (17-9) once again finds himself having to defend his spot in the contender line against a hungry contender. Royval's past two fights haven't gone his way as he was knocked out by Manel Kape and dropped a decision in a thriller against now-champion Joshua Van, so the time is now for the veteran to right the ship.
Kavanagh (10-1) is coming off of an eye-opening win over two-time flyweight champion Brandon Moreno. Called upon on short notice to face Moreno in the main event of UFC Mexico City this past February, Kavanagh spoiled Moreno's homecoming with a virtuoso five-round performance. Just 27, Kavanagh could find himself on the cusp of a title opportunity if he can get past Royval.

UFC 329 video: Robert Whittaker potentially breaks Nikita Krylov’s jaw in light heavyweight debut

Despite giving up a lot of size, Whittaker's speed was undeniable and his power translated as he hurt Krylov several times during the fight. The end came after Whittaker clipped Krylov wih a stiff right hand and then followed with another huge shot behind it.
Krylov immediately grabbed at his jaw like something was broken and waved off the fight as the referee stepped in to stop if at 1:01 in the third round.
“Feast your eyes on that Reddit!†Whittaker joked after his win. “Honestly, there was a lot of nerves and we've seen guys move up and slide down … but we've still got it. I trained for the entire camp with the idea that my opponent is going to be the boogeyman.
“I came in nice and heavy and I hit as hard as anybody else. This is my home now. The middleweight page is closed.â€
While Krylov looked massive, Whittaker showed off his speed immediately with several lightning quick punches that found a home in the opening round. That led to Krylov closing the distance and looking for the takedown while working against the cage.
Krylov was effectively muscling Whittaker across the octagon while applying his grappling but the former middleweight champion finally escaped and connected with a punch on his way out. Whittaker followed that with a slick right hand that clipped Krylov before connecting with another hard right hook.
On the restart in the second round, Whittaker came out quick and continued to use fast hands to catch Krylov off guard. A combination followed as Whittaker snapped off several shots in a row that stung Krylov, although the Russian absorbed the damage well.
With two minutes remaining, Whittaker unleashed another blistering combination that hurt Krylov, although he didn't go wild looking for the finish.
Whittaker snapped off another hard right hand that rattled Krylov and the writing was on the wall that the fight was nearly finished. Another devastating right followed and Krylov backed away as he grabbed onto his jaw with the referee stepping in to stop the fight before any further damage was dished out.
Light heavyweight is far from the deepest division in the sport and Whittaker might already be one of the more dangerous fighters at 205 pounds, especially after such an impressive debut on Saturday at UFC 329.
