Fabio Wardley has been invited to defend his WBO world heavyweight title in America, potentially fighting someone he was scheduled to face last year.
The 31-year-old is doing great Final in the 11th round against Joseph Parker in October, when the pair fought a thrilling fight for the Recent Zealander’s interim WBO title.
By winning the belt, Wardley was promoted from interim to full WBO champion after Oleksandr Usyk vacated his belt slow last year.
Since then, the Ipswich fighter has been linked with a number of heavyweights, including Derek Chisora, who will face former world champion Deontay Wilder on April 4.
An announcement regarding his next outing is expected to be made soon, especially as Wardley has become one of the most exhilarating fighters in his division.
The knockout fighter proved just that in June 2025, when a crushing right hand in the 10th round snatched victory from the jaws of defeat against Justis Huni.
Initially, it was supposed to be a Jarrell Miller vs. Wardley match at the Portman Road Football Ground, but the American ruled himself out of the competition.
But now “Large Baby” is making a name for himself in the fight for Wardley’s title Ring Magazine that he would be ecstatic to face the Briton on home soil.
“Definitely. He wants to come to America. Wardley would definitely be a great fight; I would definitely keep his ass.”
“There are simply more of us in America [gritty]. We don’t stop fights because someone throws a series of punches.
“Even in the Joseph Parker fight, the last four punches [from Wardley] he missed and the referee stopped that fight in Great Britain.
“A lot of people are getting needy deals in the UK, so let’s see if that happens [Wardley is] he really took it upon himself to come to America and kick his ass.
Miller returned to action on Saturday with a convincing split decision victory over Kingsley Ibeh in the Teofimo Lopez vs. Shakur Stevenson match at Madison Square Garden in Recent York. Even though his performance – which featured a viral moment of his toupee being hit – left much to be desired, Miller again called for a fight with Wardley after the fight.
