Former cruiserweight world champion Johnny Nelson predicted the Chris Eubank Jr vs Conor Benn 2 fight.

Nelson raised the issue of the weight arrangements between Benn and Eubank in the rematch.

Both men will fight on Saturday evening in the middleweight limit of 160 pounds Benn weighed in at 147 pounds for the second time.

Eubank Jr struggled to reach that weight in April, being 160 pounds brief by 0.05 pounds on weigh-in day, resulting in a $500,000 fine.

“I believe if you look at the scales, the terms are exactly the same, their contract positions are exactly the same; that’s why this fight is so closely related to it.

“There are so many complaints and opinions similar to mine that fathers are still worried about the situation their sons are in.

“With exactly the same conditions, that’s why I’m leaning towards Conor because the conditions are exactly the same.”

The 58-year-old revealed his thoughts on the fight, which is seen as close despite Eubank Jr being naturally the bigger man with experience on the world stage.

“Their personalities, [they’re like] father and father, their personalities do not mix; these guys were never best buddies.

“The Benns are strict, they wear their hearts on their sleeves and they are emotional.

“Eubanks are balanced, expressive and thoughtful.

“Usually Eubank rubs Benn the wrong way and it’s exactly the same with the boys.”

The fight was originally supposed to take place in September, but at the request of Eubank Jr and his team, it was postponed to a fresh date, November 15.

Nelson questioned Eubank’s professionalism in the first fight and how he expects a different side of Eubank Jr. in the second fight.

“You remember the last fight Chris showed up eating Kentucky Fried Chicken and stuff like that, it was nothing to him.

“He was like, ‘I get it,’ maybe he made a mistake in terms of preparing for it, but now, after the first fight, they both have found mutual respect, but that shouldn’t detract from who they are and what a fight they will have on the table.”
