On World Boxing News, Naoya Inoue delivered another masterclass, retaining his undisputed championship following an impressive victory over Murodjon Akhmadaliev.
In a packed arena in Japan, “The Monster” was in complete control from the opening bell, frustrating Akhmadaliev with his incredible speed, timing and accuracy. Inoue dictated the tempo throughout the match, finding his rhythm early and not allowing the former unified champion to gain any momentum.
The monster dominates
As Akhmadaliev tried to adapt and press forward, he ran into a wall of precision. Inoue’s footwork and composure kept the challenger at bay, with each exchange highlighting the gulf in class.
Even when the fight started in the middle rounds, it was the superstar who landed sharper and cleaner punches that appealed to both the judges and the audience.
Before the championship rounds, Akhmadaliev looked resigned to his fate, while Inoue scored points with ease. The Uzbek’s brief moment of success in the last seconds was not enough to change the result.
WBN’s unofficial card resulted in the champion losing 120-108. The official scores twice read 118-110 and 117-111, all for Inoue, confirming the victory by unanimous decision.
With the victory, Inoue remains undefeated and undisputed, further cementing his position as one of the sport’s newfangled champions.
