august 2 three comas and boxer death Hata vs Kotari

Japanese boxing is intensively control after the shocking event on August 2 in Korakuene Hall, left three warriors fighting for their lives, culminating with the death of Shigetoshi Kotari and Hiromas Urakava.

28 -year -old Kotari died six days after losing consciousness, when the boxing sinks into the destructive regret of another juvenile warrior who lost his life.

Unfortunately, this is not the end of the loss.

A day later, Urakawa underwent the fight against adversities.

Disaster on August 2

Kotari, a 28 -year -old candidate for a featherweight, died of injuries in the fight on the card. His opponent, Urakawa, who had fought earlier in the evening, also died at the same age after a separate clash from the card.

The shockingly opponent of Kotari, Yamato Hata, suffered the same damage to the hematoma and is also not outside the forest.

The scale of the disaster has intensified calls for urgent reform from Japan, boxing Commission (JBC), with many indicates that it is far from an insulated case.

From Kazuki Anaguchi and Kanam, Sakama die after dividing the same Nayy Inoue account at the end of 2023 and recent injuries with the participation of Gin Shigeoka, the pattern becomes impossible to ignore. Both fans and external people marked the frequency of fatal or critical injuries in Japan “worse than anywhere else” in recent years.

One comment, made before the second death, said: “Something must be done with JBC health standards. From Anaguchi to Shigeok, and now Kotari is definitely too much.”

JBC reacts – but too slow?

Before the death of Kotari, the Secretary General of JBC Tsuyoshi Yasukouchi revealed that the management body is considering limiting regional fights for the OPBF title from 12 to 10 rounds in the airy of brain surgery.

More will be made, but it comes too slow for the other wounded or died.

After the mortality of Kotari from August 2, JBC temporarily accepted the middle, but critics say this is a reactionary step that does not deal with the source of the problem.

Over the past few years, repetitive spots have commissioned proud Japanese boxing heritage because of thunderous tragedies. These last deaths will now be a grim milestone, two losses of life and probably the third in one night, the first in newfangled boxing history when it comes to global boxing news.

Together with the Sport Safety Record in Japan, more and more questioned all over the world, JBC is in the face of the moment of truth. JBC officials must organize an emergency meeting to decide to sweep medical and regulatory changes, otherwise the calls for accountability will be louder.
