Tim Bradley has his say on whether Jesse ‘Bam’ Rodriguez can move up and beat Naoya Inoue

Jesse “Bam” Rodriguez’s thrilling performance on November 22 to win the three-band super flyweight title was one of the most virtuosic performances of the year.

Rodriguez stopped Fernando “Puma” Martinez in the 10th round in Riyadfurther enhancing his reputation as one of the world’s elite warriors.

Only Oleksandr Usyk, Terence Crawford, Naoya Inoue and Dmitry Bivol are above him on most ranking lists. At just 25 years venerable, the Texas southpaw’s future looks brighter than ever.

One fantastic fight that continues to fuel debate is Rodriguez vs. Naoya Inoue. “Monster” moved up from featherlight flyweight to super bantamweight, where he currently reigns as the undisputed champion.

At the age of 32, Inoue achieved his devastating best in a final match that was expected to be a stern test against Murodjon Akhmadaliev. Speed, accuracy and power combined as the Japanese star dominated the Uzbek en route to victory by wide points.

Rodriguez could move up to bantamweight if he fails to secure an undisputed super flyweight fight against remaining champion Willibaldo Garcia.

Former two-division world champion Timothy Bradley – who is no stranger to anxiety and defying expectations – urged caution in his interview regarding a potential ‘Bam’ vs ‘Monster’ clash. Fighting the noise.

“There’s a reason there are weight classes. I know Bam is special. I think Bam is very skillful. I love his style. He’s one of the best we’ve ever seen. But the Monster is too mature now and he’s still developing.

“That speed and power of ‘The Monster’ is something else. That explosiveness is something else. Bam flows like water, but the Monster is keen, right – and that’s something you have to deal with. I think the Monster would be the favorite if they were to fight. That’s no disrespect to Bam. I think Bam is an amazing fighter, man. I just think the Monster might be too explosive.”

Inoue returns to the ring on December 27 to defend his 122-pound title against David Picasso.

Tony Bellew Reviews Anthony Joshua's Comeback Victory Over Kristian Prenga After Knockdown Drama

Anthony Joshua may have earned a knockout win over Kristian Prenga but the fight certainly didn’t unfold as most people expected.

Joshua was facing the Albanian in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia on Saturday, and it looked like a massive upset could be on the cards when he was dropped twice in the opening round.

‘AJ’ was able to recover and went on to secure a second round knockout victory to prevent the shock lossseemingly paving the way for the battle against Tyson Fury later this year.

One man who was ringside to witness the battle was former cruiserweight world champion Tony Bellewand he praised Joshua’s ability to turn things around in the fight after describing it as ‘chaos’.

“We predicted round two but I don’t think we foresaw that. That was chaos. He doesn’t see the uppercut coming and finds himself on the floor without knowing how he got there.

“The second one he did see it coming and he was able to clench down on the jaw. He got up and then the experience that he has he used tonight because he tied him up. Against Andy Ruiz he didn’t know what he was doing and didn’t know how to do that, but tonight he did.

“He showed once again there is no quit. To be that hurt in the first round and get up, that’s the recoveries of power. People talk about your chin, but it’s not, it’s the level of fitness that gets you up from the floor.

“When Joshua gets a fighter hurt he’s the best finisher in the division. Whenever he hurts someone they’re gone. I haven’t seen him drop anybody and they survive, only Andy Ruiz. He’s a ruthless finisher.”

The clash between Joshua and Fury is now expected to be announced soon for later this year, after Fury won his own interim fight on Friday by defeating Mariusz Wach.
