Manny Pacquiao is still a busy man in the boxing ring and outside.
A 46-year-old sensation from the Philippines plans to return to the ring in January and has a purpose in front of him: WBA champion in the welterweight Rolando Romero.
This would be the first Pacquiao fight from the majority draw with the WBC champion to 147 pounds Mario Barrios in July, when the International Gallery of Boxing Sław 2025 tried to beat her own record as the oldest player who won the semi -edible title.
“We would like to fight again before the end of the year, but the date did not suit us,” said ESPN for many years Pacquiao, Sean Gibbons. “2026 will be a novel year with novel beginnings and, hopefully, a novel opponent. I think that the perfect moment for Manny to make a declaration of return is January, and the perfect opponent is Romero.”
The sources confirmed ESPN that negotiations have already begun on the January fight for Pacquiao (62-8-3, 39 KO).
Apart from the ring, Pacquiao will have his hands full, launching Manny Pacquiao Promotions in the United States, and the inaugural battle card will take place on November 29 at Pechanga Resort Casino in Temecula, California. This event will be a professional debut of the eldest son Pacquiao, Manny “Jimuela” Pacquiao Jr., against the opponent who will be announced.
Pacquiao Jr., 24, he spent three years in amateur ranks, and is currently training in the celebrated Wild Card Boxing Gym gym in Los Angeles under the watchful eye of Marvin Somodio.
“It’s an honor to bring Manny Pacquiao Promotions to the United States,” said Pacquiao in a statement. “November 29 is a novel, key start. Some of my greatest memories took place at American rings and I am proud that I am now creating opportunities for the next generation of masters. Thanks to such talents affluent in talents, as this, we will pay attention to emerging players and we will provide players with a platform for performances in the international arena.”
The main characters of the gala will be Elijah Pierce (21-2, 17 KO) and Lorenzo Parra (23-1-1, 17 KO) in the 12-round eliminator of the WBO title in a featherweight.
