It’s official that Frank Martin vs. Rances Barthelemy will headline the PBC free Prime Video pre-card card at the Isaac “Pitbull” Cruz vs. Lamont Roach event on December 6, 2025 at the Frost Bank Center in San Antonio, Texas. The free portion of the event begins at 5:30 p.m. ET/2:30 p.m. PT.
Martin (18-1, 12 KO) will have a year and a half break since his eighth-round knockout loss to WBA lightweight champion Gervonta “Tank” Davis on June 15, 2024. “The Ghost” Martin earned a gigantic payday in this fight. So it’s no wonder he’s been inactive for the past 16 months. Lost to
The preliminary card begins at 5:30 PM ET
- Frank Martin vs. Rances Barthelemy
- Isaac Lucero vs. Roberto Valenzuela Jr
- Luis Nunez vs. Hector Sosa
Cruz vs. fight Roach will headline the PBC Pay-Per-View on Prime Video. The main card goes live at 8:00 PM ET / 5:00 PM PT.
A loss to 39-year-old Barthelemy (30-3-1, 15 KO) would be brutal for Martin. It will be hard for him to recover from a defeat against him, especially if he continues to take long breaks between fights.
Before Martin’s fight with Tank Davis in June 2024, he had been inactive for 11 months since winning a narrow 12-round unanimous decision over Artem Harutyunyan on July 15, 2023. Martin had to muster his strength to defeat Harutyunyan by scores of 115–112, 115–112 and 114–113.
The main card goes live at 8:00 PM ET / 5:00 PM PT
- Isaac Cruz vs. Lamont Roach Jr.
- Erislandy Lara vs. Janibek Alimkhanuly
- Stephen Fulton Jr. vs. O’Shaquie Foster
- Jesus Ramos Jr. vs. Shane Mosley Jr.
“I’m excited to come back after people tried to berate me for one loss. I’ve learned my lesson and I’m mentally and physically back to my best. Rances will have to deal with everything I’ve been through and he’ll feel it with every punch. I’m back, I’m pissed and risky,” said Frank Martin.
Barthelemy has lost two of his last three fights against these fighters:
- Jose Ramirez (April 27, 2024) – defeat by unanimous decision in 12 rounds
- Gary Antuanne Russell (July 30, 2022) – Lost by sixth round TKO
It’s understandable why PBC is putting Martin vs. Barthelemy on the preliminary card. Neither of them has done enough recently to be on the main card. Given Martin’s failure and Rance’s recent failures, it doesn’t make sense for them to play a major role.
“December 6 is the night I remind everyone who Rances Barthelemy is. Frank Martin is a talented fighter, but I’ve been in deep waters before and experience counts when the lights are brightest,” Barthelemy said.
“I come with a up-to-date hunger, greater focus and the drive of a man chasing one more run for a world title.”
