Devin Haney was loading at 147 for Norman Jr. Figh

Image: Recharged at 147: Devin Haney Eyes Breakthrough Performance Against Brian Norman Jr.

Devin Haney says that it will be even better to fight for 147 with a welterweight champion Brian Norman Jr. than he had 140 and 135, when they meet on November 22, 2025.

Haney (32-0, 15 KO) said it was arduous to do 140, and he felt “Exhausted“Last time he fought Ryan Garcia on April 20, 2024. He states that he felt better when he fought Jose Ramirez during the middle of 144 pounds in May.

The threat of the power of Norman Jr.

It can’t matter that Haney will feel stronger at the age of 147, because his chin will be a problem in this fight. If he can’t deal with Norman’s power, he will still have as much trouble as he fought at the age of 140 when Kingry threw him.

Haney will challenge Norman Jr. (28-0, 22 KO) For your WBO belt in the slot of the factor on the David Benavidez card vs. Anthony Yarde on November 22 at the Anb Arena in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The event will be shown live in Dazn PPV.

Fighting with the Undercard card on November 22

  • Devin Haney vs. Brian Norman JR.: WBO 147-LB Title on the line
  • Jesse “Bam” Rodriguez vs. Fernando Martinez
  • Abdullah Mason vs. Sam Noakes: Empty title WBO Lightweight State
  • Artur Beerbiev vs. Deon Nicholson
  • Subriel Matias vs. Dalton Smith: Matias defends his title WBC 140-LB

Will Haney deliver or folded?

“When I fought at the age of 144, I felt great and I think that at the age of 147 I would feel even better – an even better version. When I went to 140 for the first time, you saw a much better version than at the age of 135. I think it will be the same at the age of 147,” said Devin Haney Boxing newsStating that he would be stronger with full weight in welterweight than he was in his weight at the age of 144 and when he fought at the age of 140.

The reality is that Haney was not a better warrior at the age of 140 than he was 135 years ancient. He was worse in my estimates. Perhaps it seemed temporarily that Devin was better because he fought 35-year-old Regis Prograis in his first fight. Since he fought Danielito Zorrilla on June 17, 2023.

In the second fight Haney at the age of 140 he lost to Ryan Garcia. Based on this, I would say that Devin did not improve after moving from airy to a airy welterweight. Haney was dropped three times by Ryan in this fight and was wounded many times by his powerful left hook.

In 147 it will probably be worse for Haney, starting with his title challenge against Norman Jr. November 22. Almost everyone has power in this weight class and there is no way that Devin can avoid fighting them. He can’t fight as he did against Jose Ramirez, running in the ring because the fans hate it.

Turki Alalshikh wants action

“We have to see. Styles are fighting. You don’t fight the same,” said Haney, asked if he would get more involved against Norman Jr. Because of NO Tom and Jerry Turka Alalshikha at his seasonal events in Riyadh.

I am sure that Turki will be delighted when Haney turns in the next performance of Jerry, if he decides to fight in the style he did against Jose Ramirez at the beginning of this year during the Fatal Fury Event on May 2, 2025 at the Times Square in Up-to-date York.

If Haney runs all night, Turki would have to take this into account when his contract with the Riyadh season appears to renew. This would be the second fight in a row in which he fought in his first security.

If Devin intends to fight like that, and Alalshikh may not be worth investing in a rematch with Ryan Garcia. He would have to assume that in this way Haney will decide to fight Ryan, and this is not a style that will play well with fans.

There are fun warriors with whom Turks can match Kingry in welterweight, who do not run around the ring. These are several examples:

  • Shakhram Giyasov
  • Teofimo Lopez
  • Raul Curiel
  • Rohan Polanco

Canelo offered an immediate title fight to the recent world champion: “I will show that I am better”

Canelo offered immediate title fight by new world champion: “I’ll show I’m better”

Saul “Canelo” Alvarez is preparing for fight number 69 after suffering just the third defeat of his career last year.

The Mexican icon was vacated last year’s undisputed super middleweight world title by Terence Crawford, his first loss at 168 pounds and third overall after losses to Floyd Mayweather in 2013 and Dmitry Bivol in 2022.

Because Crawford’s retirement means a rematch for Canelo, he has announced his return for a September event in Saudi Arabia, a fight that boxing broker Turki Alalshikh says will result in a world title shot.

IN interview with Bowks talking about BoutsChristian Mbilli – who was promoted from interim to full champion when Crawford was stripped of the belt – made it clear he wanted to be the fighter on the opposite side.

“For me, my goal now is to fight Canelo because I was [the] perennial WBC number one contender. Number one fighter, number one in the WBC for Canelo. Now I have to show that I am number one in the division.

Mbilli fought on the Canelo–Crawford undercard, drawing with Crawford’s stablemate Lester Martinez to retain the belt. The Cameroon-born Frenchman said in the same interview that he intended to have a rematch with Martinez in the future.

The fight with Alvarez has no obstacles, but there is a lot of weight behind it: Turki Alalshikh, Canelo’s good position in the WBC and his number one ranking, and this is undoubtedly the most lucrative option for Mbilla. If a Mexican wants to prove himself, he has the opportunity to do so.

Sources: Torrez v. Sanchez title eliminator (knee).

Sources close to the situation told ESPN on Wednesday that undefeated IBF heavyweight title qualifier Richard Torrez Jr. against Frank Sanchez on March 28, will be sidelined after Sanchez’s injury.

Torrez Jr. (14-0, 12 KO) was scheduled to face Sanchez (27-1, 18 KO, 1 No Contest) in the PPV opener of Sebastian Fundora’s WBC junior middleweight title defense against Keith Thurman at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas. However, Cuban Sanchez was forced to withdraw from the fight due to a knee injury. Sources tell ESPN that inflammation of Sanchez’s surgically repaired right knee will force the fight to be postponed to a later date.

Torrez Jr. and Sanchez are ranked No. 9 and 10, respectively, in ESPN’s heavyweight rankings. The winner would become the mandatory challenger to the title of Aleksander Usyk, who currently holds the IBF, WBC and WBA titles.

Usyk will put his WBC title on the line against kickboxer Rico Verhoeven on May 23 at the Giza Pyramids in Egypt. Usyk recently stated that he has three fights left before he calls it a career, and the winner of Torrez and Sanchez is not on his list.

“Listen, Rico [Verhoeven] this is the first. Secondly, who will win, [WBO champion Fabio] Wardley or [Daniel] Dubois and the third fight is my friend, the greedy belly Tyson Fury,” Usyk told Inside the Ring.

Torrez Jr. beat Tomas Salk last November, and Sanchez defeated Ramon Olivas Echeverria via third-round TKO in February.

Tyson Fury eyes September fight as Joshua returns uncertain

Image: Tyson Fury eyes major fight by September as Anthony Joshua return uncertain

His promoter Frank Warren says Fury’s return is intended to restart Fury’s run towards another major fight before the end of the summer.

“Tyson has his finger on the pulse and knows what he wants to do,” Warren told DAZN, discussing Fury’s plans for the rest of the year. “I can’t feel it [Anthony Joshua] he will be ready, but if he is there and wants it, Tyson is there. If he doesn’t, Tyson will want to fight a substantial fight in August or September. That’s what he wants.”

The most discussed option remains a meeting with Anthony Joshua. Fans have waited years for the all-British heavyweight clash that once seemed inevitable when both men held world titles at the same time. Saudi boxing boss Turki Alalshikh had previously considered the possibility of staging the fight this summer, but Joshua’s involvement in a stern car crash in Nigeria tardy last year caused uncertainty over the timetable for his return to the ring.

Warren said Fury’s focus is firmly on competition this year after spending most of last year on outside projects.

“The past year has been about his TV series, other commitments and the documentary,” Warren said. “This year it’s about getting the number one position and that’s where his head is.”

If Joshua isn’t ready by tardy summer, other options may become available. WBO heavyweight champion Fabio Wardley has already expressed interest in fighting Fury if he successfully defends his belt against Daniel Dubois on May 9.

Wardley previously said he offered Fury the fight earlier in the year, before both men moved on to other fights.

“I said, ‘Listen, if you want to go straight away, we can go straight away, no problem,’” Wardley told Sky Sports. “But if he wants a little warm-up and wants to go through it and see how he feels, then frosty. I’ll still be ready and I’ll be waiting when I’m done with Daniel for a substantial fight.”

For now, Fury’s main goal remains an April return against Makhmudov. If Warren gets through this fight injury-free, Warren expects the former champion to compete in a major event later in the year, and Joshua’s fight is still something most fans want to see.
