Bakhram Murtazaliev, a master of medium -weight IBF, says that nobody wants to “organize” their title IBF defense against Erickson Lubin.
For this fight to happen, PBC will need dates to show it, as well as a great headliner to pair with it. Murtazaliev-Lubin is not a great fight to be the main attraction.
Canelo-Crawford Undercard needs bakhram
What do Murtazaliev and Lubin need for Turks Alalshikh To materialize and add them to one of his Riyadh season cards. Even if their fight is buried on one of the cards, at least it will be done.
The perfect place will be on the Canelo Alvarez vs. Terenka Crawford on September 13. It is an event that is completely devoid of quality based on the card. This is basically the main event, packed with a penalty.
Adding Murtazaliev-Lubin to this event would be immediate improvement, perhaps even distinguishing the main event in terms of entertainment value for fans. You can count on the fact that Murtazaliev and Lubin will go to war. We already know that Crawford intends to Box Canelo and borrow from the manweather textbook. Bakhram vs. Lubin would save the day.
The invincible Bakkhram (23-0, 17 KO) was unlucky since the ejection of the former WBO champion Tim Tziu in October last year. He dealt with the hand injury and fight with Josh Kelly and Vergil Ortiz Jr., not materializing. Now it is a matter of transmission, which delays the defense of the Murtazalieva title against Lubin (27-2, 19 KO).
Why Bakhram Murtazaliev avoids
The reputation, which Bakhram developed as Boogeyman from the 154-Funt league, is another reason why he did not exploit his victory over Tziu. The way he destroyed Tim is intimidating for the other best fighters. None of the substantial names wanted to fight him.
It seems that Murtazaliev will sit for over a year before he finally fights. In October, a year has passed since his victory over Tisz. At this pace, Bakhram may be lucky if he fought at all in 2026.
Lubin cannot be elated about it. He returned to the compulsory IBF position, winning his last three fights after Sebastian Funda in 2022 in the ninth round. This fight was a great failure for Erickson, because he returned from his embarrassing defeat in the first round to Jermell Charlo in 2017, winning the last six fighting fights.
