Superstar Canelo Alvarez will undergo arthroscopic surgery next month, on October 23, on the left elbow to remove bone fragments after defeat against Truchford.
Canelo time in the elbow operator
The injury hindered the 12-round unanimous Canelo decision even more hard to swallow. He lost his unquestioned medium-scale championship against the older, smaller 38-year-old Crawford (42-0, 31 KO).
Nebraska Crawford moved two classes to dethrone it from a vast crowd of 70-482 fans at the Allegiant stadium in Las Vegas. It was of course embarrassment for the Mexican star, who was beaten by a guy he was to defeat.
According to Mike CoppingerAlvarez (63-3-2, 39 KO) will be required to wear suspensions for four to six weeks after surgery. When this happens, he will still not be able to return to the ring to the second quarter of 2026.
35-year-old Canelo still has two fights in four contracts with the season of Riyjad Turka Alalshikh. When Alvarez returns, he will have to be carefully matched, if they do not want him to lose again, because he does not look like the ability to overcome the best five -level pretenders at 168.
Williams’ breathing
Canelo has managed to cope for the last three years, not fighting the crop cream in Super Middle weight, so Crawford was able to beat him.
Three names that were raised to the next fight of Alvarez in 2026:
- Chris Eubank Jr.
- Hamzah Sheeraz
- Christian Milli
Of these names, Mbilli is a real talent, a guy who would probably be a champion if Alvarez did not give him a cool shoulder in the last two years.
Crawford’s victory about Canelo
It was not a situation in which Crawford looked great, far from that. Canelo looked worse than him, and that was enough for him to lose. The way Bud performed would lose from at least three to four best super medium weight, perhaps even more. I have to say that Crawford looked elderly as a hill, but Canelo was so bad that it didn’t matter. Both of these guys would be food for fighters below.
Massive Four in Super Middle Weighing
You will see what I am talking about if Crawford decides to defend his unquestioned 168-Funt championships against any of the substantial four:
- Oslyys Iglesias
- Christian Milli
- Lester Martinez
- Diego Pacheco
