"Tim Tszyu Agrees to Errol Spence Jr.'s 160-Pound Challenge"

By Tom Galm – 07/17/2026 – Comments

Tszyu says he approved the late weight change because he wants to face the best version of Errol Spence Jr. in Sydney

Tim Tszyu immediately approved Errol Spence Jr.’s request to raise their July 26 fight from a 158-pound catchweight to the full 160-pound middleweight limit. Tszyu said he wants to beat the best version of the former unified welterweight champion without any excuses after the final bell.

“I just wanted him here. I wanted the fight to happen. I’m not a diva. It’s whatever, man, whatever. I’m an easy guy,” said Tszyu to Ring Magazine. “I just don’t want any excuses. I want him here, refreshed, rejuvenated, make sure he’s not struggling with weight, make sure everything’s on point, because I wanna beat up the best Errol Spence.

“I was notified on Saturday whether or not I would accept the change. And apparently it was because he was supposed to come [to Australia] a bit earlier, but now he needs a little bit of extra time, because he’s flying in a bit later, to adapt to the change. So, I don’t know. Whatever they say, whatever, man. For me, it was like, ‘All right, whatever.’”

Tszyu admitted he found the late request “very strange,” but it wasn’t enough to make him hesitate. Rather than force Spence to stick to the original catchweight, he viewed the extra two pounds as a way to remove any questions about whether the former champion entered the ring at full strength.

"Ryan Garcia Responds to Devin Haney with Knockdown Photo Challenge"

Garcia rejects the no contest by reposting Haney’s knockdown after Haney mocked his failed drug test on social media

Ryan Garcia reignited his feud with Devin Haney on Friday by posting a photo of Haney on the canvas from their April 2024 fight. The post came hours after Haney mocked Garcia’s failed drug test, prompting Garcia to double down on his belief that he won the fight despite the official no contest.

“Hold that L Bitch for eternity you little DECIEVING RAT 👍😮‍💨” said Ryan on X.

Ryan included an image from the seventh round of their fight at Barclays Center, where Haney was knocked down during what was originally ruled a majority decision victory for Garcia. He later tested positive for the banned substance ostarine, leading the New York State Athletic Commission to overturn the result to a no contest.

His “deceiving rat” remark reflects his belief that Haney is using the failed drug test to bury what happened in the ring. Ryan has never accepted the no contest and still points to the three knockdowns as proof he won.

The exchange began after Haney answered one of Ryan’s recent posts by writing, “Ostarine boy always tryna point the finger at somebody else.”

The feud has shown no signs of cooling. Ryan continues to argue that what happened in the ring should define the fight, while Haney keeps pointing to the positive Ostarine test that changed the official result to a no contest.

With neither fighter showing any interest in backing down, the rivalry remains one of boxing’s most active outside the ring. Ryan’s latest post leaves little doubt that, despite the official record reading no contest, he still views the fight as a victory over Haney.

Jaron Ennis Claims Victory Over One Fighter Will Prove Hes Really Different

"Jaron Ennis Claims Victory Over One Fighter Will Prove He's 'Really Different

Jaron Ennis is eager to cement himself as the top dog at 154lbs, targeting a fellow world champion who he believes would complement his skillset.

The 29-year-old became a two-division unified champion last month, with a sixth-round stoppage over Xander Zayas earning him the WBO and WBA super-welterweight titles.

Prior to that, ‘Boots’ had been in talks for a clash with Vergil Ortiz Jr, who many believe would pose a significant threat if they ever lock horns.

Due to a promotional dispute with Oscar De La Hoya and Golden Boy, though, Ortiz has remained out of the ring since his second-round finish over Erickson Lubin in November.

The 28-year-old is now seemingly eyeing a return later this year while Ennis, it seems, is hoping to secure a three-belt unification match with either Sebastian Fundora or Josh Kelly.

Fundora, in particular, represents an intriguing and high-profile opponent for ‘Boots’, who has told The Pivot Podcast that, even while contending with an 8in height disadvantage, he would ultimately prove a level above the WBC champion.

“I want him [Fundora]. I want him. I don’t care [that he’s 6ft 6in]. Bring him on, you’re going to see I’m really different. These guys don’t do what I do. Y’all [will] see as I keep going up and keep fighting these different guys, I’m going to keep getting better and better.”

Fundora, who comes off a sixth-round finish over Keith Thurmanis set to defend his world title against mandatory challenger Ermal Hadribeaj later this year.

More likely for Ennis, then, is a unification match with IBF champion Kelly, who must first retain his title against unbeaten contender Caoimhin Agyarko on July 25.

Jon Jones Sets Condition for Potential Retirement Fight Against Oleksandr Usyk

"Jon Jones Sets Condition for Potential Retirement Fight Against Oleksandr Usyk"

Oleksandr Usyk is in the market for an opponent for his retirement fight, and UFC legend Jon Jones is one name that has been reported as an option.

Usyk’s last outing was met with criticism both before and after the event, as the then unified heavyweight ruler faced 1-0-recorded Rico Verhoeven, only for Verhoeven to provide a much tougher test than anticipated before being controversially stopped in round 11.

The Ukrainian great has opted to vacate all three of his heavyweight belts, but has said that he will remain in the sport for one ‘last dance’ before retirement.

Deontay Wilder has been considered the frontrunner to be in the opposite cornerbut Jones and a rematch with Verhoeven are amongst the other possibilities that have been mentioned.

Speaking with Ring Magazinehowever, Jones ruled himself out of a boxing match with Usyk, only willing if it were to take place under MMA rules.

“No, [I am not interested] not at all. Usyk is Usyk, man, he is one of the absolute GOAT’s of heavyweight boxing.

“I also am aware that he does wrestling and that wrestling has been a heavy part of his training for many years, that is probably why he is so dominant in the clinch.

“If he would like to test his total combat skills, I would oblige him in that, but to handicap myself by only using my hands – that is just not the world that I come from.

“Out of all of the heavyweight boxers, I do see Usyk as having the highest potential [in MMA] and making it competitive, but I am no boxer and I don’t really consider Usyk to be a complete fighter.

“I think that the world knows what would happen if we were locked in the same room and I’ll just leave it at that.”

News on Usyk’s farewell fight is expected in the coming months, with Wilder’s team saying they are open to making it happen.
