Alycia Baumgardner vs Bo Mi Re Shin – results and post-fight report
Alycia Baumgardner defended her WBA, IBF and WBO super featherweight titles, scoring wide against Bo Mi Re Shin over 10 three-minute rounds at the top of the Most Valuable Promotions card at the Infosys Theater at Madison Square Garden in Up-to-date York.
Baumgardner (18-1, 7 KO) went 12 rounds for the first time in her last outing, defeating Leila Beaudoin in Miami, while former world title challenger Re Shin (19-4-3, 10 KO) earned a majority decision victory, pushing Caroline Dubois to fight for the WBC lightweight title earlier.
The champion started robust, with a dominant opening round, boosted by a solid second where her punch combinations kept her opponent unsettled.
A nice right hand landed for the visitor in the third period, but the 31-year-old Baumgardner responded with a powerful right of her own, and a powerful uppercut rocked the challenger a round later.
Re Shin, however, was competitive and clearly hurt the American in the sixth round, and in the seventh round she continued her momentum, with a meaty left hand finding the target.
Try as she might, the 32-year-old South Korean couldn’t handle the pressure, and Baumgardner used her moves to avoid trouble.
The pair then opened in the final frame, much to the delight of the crowd, but when the final bell rang, there was no dispute as to who was the winner.
“Bomba” kept the belts with scores of 99-91 and 98-92×2 and called for a fight against Katie Taylor and Amanda Serrano.
Green stunned by Daniels
There was an upset on the undercard when Shadasia Green lost her IBF and WBO super middleweight titles and Lani Daniels scored a stunning ninth-round stoppage victory.
Daniels (12-4-2, 2 KO) increased the pressure in the penultimate round, and several unanswered shots forced the referee to intervene.
Green (16-2, 11 KO) was taken from the ring on a stretcher.
Undercard remaining
In eight-round fights, Elon Dejesus (12-1-2, 8 KO) won an uncertain points victory over Connor Adaway (10-3-1, 4 KO) in the super bantamweight fight, and Natalie Dove (8-0-1, 2 KO) won by split decision against Maria Michea Santizo (14-7, 8 KO) in the flyweight fight.
Super lightweight prospect Alex Vargas (15-0, 5 KO) remained undefeated with a win over Rani Jalomo (7-1-1, 4 KO) on the cards, and Krystal Rosado (9-1, 2 KO) defeated Fernanda Reyes Delgado (8-1) on points in their bantamweight clash.

In a six-round fight, Raquel Miller (14-0, 6 KO) had to leave the ring in the second round of her fight against Adriana Dos Santos Araujo (6-4, 1 KO) before scoring points in the super middleweight division, and Jahmal Harvey (3-0, 2 KO) won in the fifth round against Daniel Lugo (6-5, 2 KO) in the lightweight division.
Heavyweight hope Luis Gjolena (8-0-1, 6 KO) defeated Robert Salinas (4-3-1, 3 KO) in the second round.

Jaron Ennis is the bookmakers’ main favorite to defeat Xander Zayas in their highly anticipated world title clash on Saturday in Brooklyn.
Ennis challenges Zayas for the WBO and WBA super welterweight belts at the Barclays Center live on DAZN pay-per-view.
The undefeated resident of Philadelphia enters the game as the favorite on February 11 Bet365 give the 23-year-old his first professional defeat and become world champion in two weight categories.
“Boots” has stopped 31 of his 35 opponents, including Uisma Lima in his 154-pound debut in October, and is expected to stop the Puerto Rican on 20/21.

On Wednesday, Lewis Crocker heads to Australia to defend his IBF welterweight world title against Liam Paro for the first time.
Crocker will face Paro at the Pat Rafter Arena in Queensland, live on DAZN in the UK and Kayo Sports in Australia.
Crocker (22-0, 11 KO) became world champion in September, defeating Paddy Donovan twice before winning the rematch by split decision.
Man from Belfast recorded his second victory over Donovan after the first victory in March last year, and his rival was disqualified for hitting him after the bell.
Paro (27-1, 16 KO) is trying to become a world champion in two weight categories, having previously reigned in the super-lightweight division.
The 30-year-old won the title with a unanimous decision victory over Subriel Matias in Puerto Rico before winning the belt in his first defense against Richardson Hitchins.
The Australian has since won twice, overtaking David Papot in his last appearance in September.
McKean meets Taliva
Heavyweight Demsey McKean will look to continue his rebuild when he faces Liam Talivaa for the vacant IBF Pan Pacific title.
McKean (24-2, 16 KO) had his career cut miniature after a last-round loss to Filip Hrgovic, followed by a brutal first-round loss to Moses Itauma.

The 35-year-old southpaw returned to winning ways with back-to-back stoppage victories.
Talivaa (8-2, 4 KO) last won the IBF Oceania-Orient title, defeating Faiga Opelu by first-round stoppage.
