Glove controversy erupts ahead of Derek Chisora and Deontay Wilder fight
Derek Chisora and Deontay Wilder will fight tomorrow in both of their 50th fights.
Just hours before Wilder and Chisora took the stage for the ceremonial weigh-in, reports of problems emerged.
The issue under discussion concerns the gloves the players will operate tomorrow evening.
On the morning of the weigh-in, competitors choose selected gloves from the available offer.
Promote Kalle Sauerland spoke two IFLTV about the situation and admitted that the problem was ongoing.
“This isn’t the first time there’s been a buzz around huge heavyweight fights and gloves, and it’s also not the first time Deontay Wilder has had gloves.
“Yes, there were some dramatic events during the weigh-in this morning. There are some problems with the gloves, I can confirm that.”
Sauerland is likely referencing the ‘Bronze Bomber’ comments about Tyson Fury’s gloves from the past.

In 2021, Wilder spoke to Premieres of boxing champions about the “Gypsy King’s” gloves for their fight.
“You can’t assist but see it!
“The gloves don’t bend, the wrist doesn’t bend.
“There is no loose space in it. It is impossible, impossible for this to happen.
“Besides all the other things!”
No further information has been confirmed, but fighters can comment on the current situation at the weigh-in, which begins at 5 p.m.
Chisora enters the competition as the bookmaker’s favorite, fighting at the O2 Arena for the 11th time in his career.
Del Boy was talking Professional boxing fans about fighting.
“I feel great, brother, I feel great, I can’t complain.
“It’s getting better, we’re there. You know, the first week, last week I was a little nervous, but now I’m coming down.”
“I’m in a good place.”
Chisora stated that regardless of Saturday night’s outcome, he would retire in his 50th fight.

On Wednesday, Lewis Crocker heads to Australia to defend his IBF welterweight world title against Liam Paro for the first time.
Crocker will face Paro at the Pat Rafter Arena in Queensland, live on DAZN in the UK and Kayo Sports in Australia.
Crocker (22-0, 11 KO) became world champion in September, defeating Paddy Donovan twice before winning the rematch by split decision.
Man from Belfast recorded his second victory over Donovan after the first victory in March last year, and his rival was disqualified for hitting him after the bell.
Paro (27-1, 16 KO) is trying to become a world champion in two weight categories, having previously reigned in the super-lightweight division.
The 30-year-old won the title with a unanimous decision victory over Subriel Matias in Puerto Rico before winning the belt in his first defense against Richardson Hitchins.
The Australian has since won twice, overtaking David Papot in his last appearance in September.
McKean meets Taliva
Heavyweight Demsey McKean will look to continue his rebuild when he faces Liam Talivaa for the vacant IBF Pan Pacific title.
