Carlos Adames vs. Austin Williams – results and post-fight report
Carlos Adames successfully defended his WBC middleweight title at Caribe Royale in Orlando, scoring dominant points against Austin “Ammo” Williams.
Adames had control over Williams for 12 rounds.
Adames (25-1-1, KO18) was the WBC interim champion but was promoted to full champion in 2024 and scored a wide points victory over Terrell Gausha.
The Dominican last took part in action in February last year. maintained a three-way split-draw by Hamzah Sheeraz in Riyad.
After being stopped by Sheeraz in June 2024, Williams (20-2, KO13) has won four on spin, the most recent being a clear win on the cards against Wendy Toussaint in January in Modern York.
In the first round, Williams was in decent form as he landed some eye-catching left hands, but after a forceful start to the second round, Williams was thrown to the canvas and a pair of ramrod right hands did the damage.
Williams resumed play but suffered a grave injury, so he regrouped well and made it through the round.

Williams scored a decent third goal, but lost his balance in the fourth as Adames started to put the pressure on with some solid shots.
Although Williams had success, Adames controlled the action, landing several right hands while staying out of trouble himself.
There was an exchange of words in the sixth set, but Williams looked tired and Adames dominated more and more as the contest went on.
The champion continued to rain down challenging shots, willingly taking shots from Williams while returning the favor with interest, and once the fight reached the championship rounds, it was one-way traffic.
Williams picked up the pace in the tenth set, but Adames upped the ante, with another pair of right hands landing and several solid body shots hitting the mark.
Despite his best efforts, Williams ran on an empty field while injured in the final frame, although Adames was deducted a point for a low blow.
Adames insisted on a stoppage, but Williams bravely made it to the final bell, where the result was almost a foregone conclusion.
Adames defended the belt by one score of 118-108 and two points of 117-109.
Undercard remaining
At the bottom, the fight of the undefeated ended with the victory of Corey Marksman (13-0-1, KO9), who defeated Jaycob Gomez (14-1-1, KO8) after ten rounds.
Two scores of 98-92 and a third score of 96-94 ensured the fight went the “Too Silky” route.
2024 Olympian Omari Jones (6-0, KO4) went eight rounds for the first time, and the super welterweight from Orlando won all available sessions against Christian Gomez (23-7-1, KO21).
In Teremoana’s second eight-round fight, Teremoana (10-0, KO10) performed brilliantly and needed less than a round to knock out Curtis Harper (19-13, KO13) in a heavyweight bout.

Jaron Ennis is the bookmakers’ main favorite to defeat Xander Zayas in their highly anticipated world title clash on Saturday in Brooklyn.
Ennis challenges Zayas for the WBO and WBA super welterweight belts at the Barclays Center live on DAZN pay-per-view.
The undefeated resident of Philadelphia enters the game as the favorite on February 11 Bet365 give the 23-year-old his first professional defeat and become world champion in two weight categories.
“Boots” has stopped 31 of his 35 opponents, including Uisma Lima in his 154-pound debut in October, and is expected to stop the Puerto Rican on 20/21.
The 28-year-old last covered this distance in 2024, and a decision victory is valued at 13/2.

On Wednesday, Lewis Crocker heads to Australia to defend his IBF welterweight world title against Liam Paro for the first time.
Crocker will face Paro at the Pat Rafter Arena in Queensland, live on DAZN in the UK and Kayo Sports in Australia.
Crocker (22-0, 11 KO) became world champion in September, defeating Paddy Donovan twice before winning the rematch by split decision.
Man from Belfast recorded his second victory over Donovan after the first victory in March last year, and his rival was disqualified for hitting him after the bell.
Paro (27-1, 16 KO) is trying to become a world champion in two weight categories, having previously reigned in the super-lightweight division.
The 30-year-old won the title with a unanimous decision victory over Subriel Matias in Puerto Rico before winning the belt in his first defense against Richardson Hitchins.
The Australian has since won twice, overtaking David Papot in his last appearance in September.
McKean meets Taliva
Heavyweight Demsey McKean will look to continue his rebuild when he faces Liam Talivaa for the vacant IBF Pan Pacific title.
McKean (24-2, 16 KO) had his career cut miniature after a last-round loss to Filip Hrgovic, followed by a brutal first-round loss to Moses Itauma.

The 35-year-old southpaw returned to winning ways with back-to-back stoppage victories.
Talivaa (8-2, 4 KO) last won the IBF Oceania-Orient title, defeating Faiga Opelu by first-round stoppage.
