Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua’s final fight, with Eddie Hearn breaking his silence on a potential mega fight
Published
4 hours agoon
Eddie Hearn has rejected claims that the mega fight between Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua has been finalized. Fury will return to the ring after a 15-month absence when he faces Arslanbek Makhmudov at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium next month.
However, it was claimed over the weekend that Fury and Joshua had agreed terms for the fight to take place tardy this year or early next year. However, when asked about the claim, Hearn responded A place of stomping: “That’s completely untrue. There is absolutely nothing signed with Anthony Joshua fighting Tyson Fury next. Nothing is agreed.”
The Matchroom boss then continued: “There were deep conversations before the accident that he would fight Jake Paul, then he would fight in February or March in Saudi Arabia and then he would fight Tyson Fury.

“Again, nothing was signed, and then of course the accident happened. Since then, there haven’t really been any talks about this fight, other than in the last few days, conversations with Dr. Rakan, Sela, when we started thinking about reconsidering the plan.
“I’ll go to camp with Anthony Joshua next week when he starts and we’ll start talking about what’s next.”
Last month, Fury revealed that the death of two of Joshua’s friends in a December car crash was the catalyst for his return to boxing. Joshua’s personal trainer, Latif Ayodele, and strength coach, Sina Ghami, died on December 29 after their vehicle collided with a stopped truck near Lagos, Nigeria.
While Joshua was treated in hospital for his injuries. Fury said: “Tomorrow may never come and I suppose the biggest turning point in this comeback for me was the tragedy that happened with Anthony Joshua.
“I was on holiday with my family in Thailand for Christmas to escape the rain. I was fed up with the rain, it was making me very depressed, and then I heard about the bad news that had arrived and I thought, ‘You know what, life is very, very compact, very precious, very frail and anything can happen at any moment.’
“You should never put off anything until tomorrow, next year or next week, because tomorrow is not promised to anyone.
“The Bible says that tomorrow is not a gift, tomorrow is not promised, tomorrow is a mystery, so we must live for today.
“I live for this day, I made a decision and then I was going to go back to boxing because it’s something I love, something I’m passionate about and I’ve always been in love with. There’s no tomorrow, that’s why I’m coming back today.”

A up-to-date era of boxing has begun when Bob Arum’s Top Rank Boxing signed a broadcast deal with DAZN Boxing.
Arum has staged some of the biggest boxing fights in history with Top Rank and will be looking to continue that success with up-to-date partner DAZN.
Over the past few years, DAZN has become the leading boxing broadcaster and describes itself as the “global home of boxing”.
It’s challenging to disagree with that mantra given his long-term deals with promotional giants Matchroom Boxing, Golden Boy Promotions and Queensberry.

The deal marks Top Rank’s first move to a up-to-date platform in more than eight years, previously airing on ESPN.
During its cooperation with ESPN, Top Rank broadcast blockbuster fights featuring the sport’s biggest stars, including Tyson FuryTerence Crawford and Vasily Lomachenko.

The up-to-date deal with DAZN is said to be multi-year, with the number of performances per year to be announced in due course.
Arum has promoted stars from Muhammad Ali to Manny Pacquiao, George Foreman to Floyd Mayweather, and brought an impressive stable to DAZN.
His current standouts include Keyshawn Davis, Xander Zayas, Abdullah Mason and many future stars of the sport.

Arum spoke out in the official announcement, expressing his excitement about the up-to-date television partner.
“Since the day I founded Top Rank 60 years ago, our goal has been basic: acquire the best fighters, develop them into champions and put on the best fights possible.
“DAZN’s position as the global home of boxing makes this a natural partnership, and I’m sure it will be extremely beneficial for the fighters, fans and the future of the sport.”
DAZN Group CEO Shay Segev also commented on the landmark transaction.
“Boxing belongs on a global stage, and this groundbreaking partnership with Top Rank brings one of the sport’s most renowned promoters and heirs to DAZN – the global home of boxing.
“DAZN already delivers more premium fight nights than any other entertainment platform in the world, and the addition of Top Rank’s elite events and historical archive further strengthens our position.
“For fans, fighters and the sport, this partnership is about scale and sets up-to-date standards for the world-class boxing experience.”

Carlos Adames is the bookmakers’ favorite to defeat Austin “Ammo” Williams in Saturday’s world title fight in Orlando.
Adames defends his WBC middleweight title against Williams at Caribe Royale, live on DAZN.
The pair were supposed to fight in January in Fresh York, but their fight was canceled and Adames withdrew due to illness.

The 31-year-old has a 75% knockout rate, but will likely win the fight by an 11-8 decision, with the stoppage valued at 6/4.
Williams is bidding for a maiden world title and enters as a 27/10 underdog to take the title.
