Mayer announced this week that she has signed MVP, adding another established champion to a lineup that already includes Amanda Serrano, Alycia Baumgardner, Chantelle Cameron and Caroline Dubois.

The move puts Mayer in a promotional group that currently controls a significant portion of the sport’s top women. For Mayer, the explanation was basic.

“I have always dreamed of the biggest and best fights, and MVP’s first-class roster of champions creates incredible opportunities to make those fights happen,” Mayer said after confirming the deal.

Her explanation points to greater development in women’s boxing. The biggest names in the sport have historically been scattered across various promoters and networks, often complicating negotiations for major fights even when public demand is high.

MVP seems to be building a different model, bringing more and more champions and challengers together under one banner. With Serrano, Baumgardner, Cameron and Dubois already part of the stable, Mayer’s arrival strengthens the promotion group, which can now stage some high-profile fights internally.

Most Valuable Promotions co-founders Nakisa Bidarian and Paul highlighted Mayer’s stature in the sport when announcing the deal.

“Mikaela is one of the most outstanding fighters in women’s boxing and a proven champion in multiple weight classes,” they said in a joint statement. “She has raced on the sport’s biggest stages, faced the best competitors in the world, and continues to push the sport forward.”

Mayer begins her cooperation as one of the most outstanding women’s boxing players. The former American Olympian won world champion titles in three weight categories and is currently one of the best players in this sport. Her most recent streak included a win over Mary Spencer, which gave her titles in another weight class and solidified her position among the elite.

By joining MVP, Mayer now becomes part of a promotional team that has grown steadily over the past year. Paul’s company has made women’s boxing a central part of its strategy, acquiring champions across multiple divisions while promoting events featuring female fighters at the forefront.

As a result, a promotional group was formed that now includes several of the athletes most frequently mentioned in potential marquee fights.

Mayer’s decision to sign suggests that she sees talent concentration as the most direct path to the matchups she has pursued throughout her career. As more high-profile fighters gather under the same banner, the path to the biggest women’s fights in the sport may increasingly run through MVP.

Mike Tyson names the new face of boxing: “His story is biblical”

Mike Tyson believes that one man fully deserves to be called the current face of boxing.

Tyson himself held the unique honor for many years, becoming the youngest heavyweight world champion in history before going on to rule the division as the biggest name in the sport.

While defeats may have come as his career progressed, perhaps no one attracted as much attention as Tyson, which proved to be the case even when he returned for a controversial fight with Jake Paul in November 2024.

While speaking to FightHypeTyson admitted he chose Terence Crawford as the face of boxing, but after “Bud’s” retirement last year, he believes Oleksandr Usyk deserves the recognition.

“The heavyweight champion is always the face of boxing. Usyk is the man, Uysk is the f***ing man. It’s biblical that his country is going through war and he is the heavyweight champion of the world. Isn’t it amazing that the heavyweight champion of the world and he is in crisis now?”

Tyson also shared his thoughts on how he thought the Usyk fight would go.

“It would look pretty good. I would like that fight.”

Usyk had the career he dreamed of, becoming the undisputed cruiserweight before moving up to the banner division and winning undisputed heavyweight honors twice after defeating Tyson Fury, Anthony Joshua and Daniel Dubois twice.

The Ukrainian returns to action in May, defending his WBC heavyweight title against kickboxer Rico Verhoeven at the Giza Pyramids in a fight that divided the boxing world.

She lost another split decision to Natasha Jonas in a welterweight title fight in early 2024, but has been on a roll since then. Mayer defeated Sandy Ryan won the WBO welterweight title in September 2024 and successfully defended her title in a rematch in March 2025. Last October, Mayer moved up to junior middleweight and dominated Mary Spencer to win the WBA title and vacant WBC title.

Shakur Stevenson wants to fight the man who ‘beat’ Gervonta Davis: “Best vs best”

Shakur Stevenson welcomed the fight against former rival Gervonta Davis.

Stevenson is currently planning his next move defeating Teofimo Lopez at Madison Square Garden in January win the WBO super lightweight title.

Thanks to this victory, the American became world champion in four weight categories, although earlier in his career he also reigned in the featherweight, super featherweight and lightweight categories.

It is currently unknown whether Stevenson’s next fight will be at 135 or 140 pounds, but one potential fight could be against a man who has competed in both weight classes.

Lamont Roach is the fighter in question who rose to prominence last year after a controversial majority draw against Gervonta Davis, with many people believing he did enough to win that fight.

After all, Stevenson is one of them revealed on the Nightcap Show that in his opinion Roach should have defeated Davis, even without controversy in round nine, in which “Tank” voluntarily took a knee but there was no knockdown.

“Yes I know [think Roach beat him]. I thought he won the fight without a knee.

Stevenson also explained his desire to share the ring with Roach.

“I would love to fight Lamont Roach. Me and Lamont Roach, it’s an amazing fight. The best against the best.”

Roach’s last fight came in December, when he had another draw, this time with Isaac Cruz, and he was recently booked to fight William Zepeda for the vacant WBC lightweight title that was recently stripped from Stevenson.
