Lightweight superstar Gervonta “Tank” Davis was released from custody Wednesday after posting bail following his arrest on stern domestic violence charges stemming from an October 2025 incident at a Miami-area nightclub.
Davis, 31, turned himself in to authorities on Jan. 28 after the warrant was issued earlier this month. He appeared via video at a bond hearing in Miami presided over by Judge Mindy S. Glazer, who granted bail with stringent conditions, including no contact with the alleged victim.
Surveillance footage obtained by TMZ Sports from Tootsie’s Cabaret in Miami Gardens paints a disturbing picture of the alleged incident that took place on October 27, 2025. According to the arrest warrant, the video shows Davis approaching a woman with whom he was previously in a relationship, grabbing her by the hair and forcibly leading her through the club. Additional shots reportedly show him pushing her and forcing her down the stairs despite her attempts to resist, holding on to the railing, as well as pulling her hoodie and holding her by the scruff of her neck.
The woman, who had ended the relationship about a month earlier, told police that Davis met her in the VIP section where she worked, accusing her of ignoring him and stating, “You think I won’t find you.” She warned him that they were being recorded by security cameras, but he allegedly replied that he didn’t care. The woman later sought medical attention and reported a “history of unreported domestic violence” between the two, including text messages with alleged death threats.
Davis faces charges battery, false imprisonmentAND attempted kidnapping.
As news of the arrest spread, other militants quickly responded.
Conor Benn did not hesitate and in response to the allegations he stated that Davis “does not belong in a boxing ring.”
Teofimo Lopez, on the other hand, downplayed the long-term impact, predicting Davis would be “right back at it” once the bond is settled.
Since then, Davis has been seen publicly unfazed, continuing to interact with fans and the media amid the ongoing legal battle.
The case remains ongoing, with no trial date set. Davis’ team has yet to make a public statement regarding the allegations, and the boxing community is waiting to see further developments that could impact his fighting future.
