Conor Benn reveals position on potential third fight with Chris Eubank Jr
Published
6 months agoon

Conor Benn says he will ignore calls for a trilogy with Chris Eubank Jr if he wants revenge on his bitter rival on Saturday.
Benn wants to avenge his own April failure to Eubank Jr during the teams’ second leg at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, live on DAZN pay-per-view.
If “The Destroyer” wins, there may be calls for a rubber fight, but the 29-year-old says he plans to return to welterweight in pursuit of a world title.
When asked what it would mean to beat Eubank Jr this time, Benn replied Froch About the fight: “It definitely wouldn’t make for a trilogy.
“No. I just want to get back to my weight.

“I want to win the WBC title [world title].
“My next fight is scheduled for 147 pounds.
“I want to continue my career.
“It’s a crowd-sourced fantasy fight. It’s never been done before. It’s generational.
“I made history in this fight, but ultimately I have a few goals I want to pursue.
“Even though he claims to be the people’s champion and all that, he’s almost done.
“I still want to win that world title for myself, just to mark it.
“I just want to say, ‘You know what, I did it.’
“Imagine winning the world title.
“At least I’d have something Chris never had.”

Benn’s promoter, Eddie Hearn said Professional boxing fans on Tuesday that Eubank Jr is expected to retire regardless of Saturday’s result.
Even though Benn hasn’t fought at 147 pounds in over three years, he’s ranked fourth in the WBC rankings, behind WBC champion Mario Barrios, who is reportedly in talks to defend his title against Ryan Garcia.
The Essex representative admits that he will be closely watching the fight scheduled for November 22 between WBO welterweight champion Brian Norman Jr. and Devin Haney, and is also eagerly following the fights with IBF champion Lewis Crocker and Barrios.

“I would like to fight Barrios,” he further said Inside the Ring.
“Once I win the WBC title, it’s challenging because I’m sitting there wanting to fight all the Americans, they’re killing it right now.
“Of course, Lewis Crocker is here, who won the IBF title, but Devin Haney and Brian Norman, I would love to win.”

Tyson Fury’s immediate reaction to the fight with Anthony Joshua after signing the contract

Tyson Fury was apparently left speechless when he finally reacted to Anthony Joshua agreeing on the terms of meeting him in the ring. Joshua has signed a multi-fight deal to make his comeback, starting with a fight against little-known Kristian Prenga in Saudi Arabia on July 25.
If Joshua escapes unscathed, he will face Fury in November, most likely at Wembley, and the fight will be streamed on Netflix. After the announcement, Fury took to social media, posting only an eye emoji in response. The 37-year-old is currently recovering from his own fight against Arslanbek Makhmudov two weeks ago, which Fury won on points.
After the fight, the former Olympic champion urged Joshua to join him in the Tottenham ring, but his rival refused. Fury claimed he had already signed a contract to fight Joshua, with whom he had been on a collision course for a decade.
However, Joshua has yet to do the same, and his rival has made it clear that if the fight falls through, he will retire from the sport for good.
“If it’s not Anthony Joshua next time, I’m not interested in boxing,” Fury insisted. “I’ll eat a thousand Easter eggs, get to 35 stone and leave, I’m not interested. It’s either him or I’m gone again. Right now I’m only interested in AJ. It’s the most significant fight for British boxing; either it happens or it doesn’t.
“He was brought to the ring for a reason, to enter the ring, confront and end the fight,” he added. “He was very evasive and didn’t give any definitive answers.
“I know one thing, he didn’t say yes.” In my opinion, he didn’t want to smoke. He didn’t look like he wanted it, he was just shocked and didn’t know what to say.
“He came to the ring to fight. If it were me, I would jump into that ring and face him. Ten years of preparation and yet, after all this time, there is still no certainty that this fight will be next.”
“I don’t want to set any deadlines. Either he wants to do it or he doesn’t. It’s now or never.”
However, Joshua has now put pen to paper, stating: “It’s no secret that I’ve taken some time to consolidate and rebuild to be ready to get back into the ring, and today is the next step in that journey. I’m delighted to have agreed a multi-fight contract starting on July 25 in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.”
“I’m looking forward to competing and picking up where I left off. Like I said, the landlord will collect rent, that’s for sure.”

The long-awaited return of Anthony Joshua to the ring has been announced and he is to face Albanian Kristian Prenga.
Joshua, by some distance, marks Prenga’s biggest fight to date.
The fight will take place on July 25 live from Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
Prenga has a perfect knockout record with his 20 wins, stopping every single one of them.
At 35 years senior, he is a solemn test for Joshua fight for a comeback. The Albanian is 180 cm lofty, so he will be a slightly shorter man in the evening.

Prenga turned professional in 2016 against Paweł Siska and stated that he would continue to emulate him many times, stopping his fighter in the second round.
He has an incredible 18 stoppages that occurred before the start of the fifth round.
Prenga last saw action just two months ago when he stopped Joe Jones in the first round of their fight in Atlantic City.
The only defeat in the Albanian’s history came in just his fifth professional competition, when he was beaten by Giovanni Auriemma on the scorecards.
Interestingly, Prenga had no amateur boxing experience and instead started out as a kickboxer.
Prenga was a two-time European kickboxing champion before moving on to the sport of boxing.
The Albanian, who lives in Edgewater, Fresh Jersey, will see July 25 as an opportunity that will define his career. He spoke to Ring magazine and sent a stern warning to “AJ.”

“I know they overlook me.
“I’m joyful about it. I will thwart their plans and shock the world in July in Saudi Arabia.”
When Prenga discusses the derailment of plans, it has to do with the breaking news that Anthony Joshua has signed a fight contract Tyson Fury later a year after their fight in the summer.
Fury and Joshua have been on a collision course in terms of fighting each other for over a decade, and now that the fight has been signed, the boxing fraternity can look forward to one of, if not the biggest fights in the sport.

A boxing match turns into a mass brawl when the boxer’s trainer is taken to the hospital

A professional boxing world championship fight descended into chaos when a massive brawl broke out in the ring. Turkish Emirkhan Kalkhan and Russian Sergei Gorokhov faced off in the Besirli sports hall in the fight for the UBO world championship.
The tension reached a breaking point after the second round when Gorokhov secured victory over his opponent. The Russian was overjoyed and celebrated with his corner team before heading to Kalkhan to seemingly check how he was doing against his opponent.
A member of Kalkhan’s entourage then pushed Gorokhov away, before one of his cornermen lunged to deliver a thrust of his own. The situation quickly got out of control as both teams clashed in corner kicks, with spectators storming the ring to exchange punches and kicks.
Plastic chairs were thrown into the ring as a group of men attacked and kicked Coach Gorokhov. The boxer himself was left stunned as he desperately pleaded for an end to the violence before another group attacked him.
Falling to the canvas, Gorokhov was hit with chairs and subjected to a barrage of kicks before disappearing under a wave of enraged attackers. Meanwhile, a separate clip shows Gorokhov’s cornerback Igor Sudalainen lying on the floor and holding his head as security personnel and some of Kalkhana’s team tried to restore order.
After the incident, Gorokhov posted updates from a nearby hospital on social media. Sharing the message via the stories section of his Instagram account, he said: “Hello everyone. We are currently in hospital in Turkey.
“Ismail [trainer] he suffered a head injury and is currently undergoing an MRI. I got through it the least badly. The gloves helped protect me. Who saw the broadcast? “We were probably attacked by about 80 people.”
“They entered the ring and beat us after our great victory in the second round, where we knocked him out twice. However, the Turks behaved very badly.
“But thank God, everyone is alive. That’s what the fight was like, difficult. I’ll tell you later. We already have a police escort, we’ll go straight from the hotel to our rooms.
“I don’t think we’ll be spending the night there tonight. If anyone tries to pull a stunt, we’ll fly straight to Georgia. Then we’ll drive through Georgia overnight to Mineralnye Vody, and from there to Kaliningrad.”
“Thank you all for your support. We will be in touch. I will tell you everything tomorrow. World champion belt – we have a world champion in Russia, in Kaliningrad, in boxing. It was a very good fight.”
Gorokhov then posted another video on Instagram, confirming that he and his team had safely reached Georgia. He said: “We are in Georgia. We have the belt, we are champions. Thank you very much for your support, friends.”
