David Haye predicts the Joseph Parker vs. Fabio Wardley fight
Former two-division world champion David Haye has given his predictions for this weekend’s heavyweight clash between Joseph Parker and Fabio Wardley.
Haye will be a keen observer of Parker and Wardley’s clash at the O2 Arena on Saturday.
The 45-year-old decided that Parker’s biography and willingness to face complex tests were the most vital to him The WBA interim champion will face another dangerous opponent this weekend.
Parker became interim champion with a hard-fought victory over Zhilei Zhang, getting off the canvas twice to win the fight.
Haye said Professional boxing fans.
“He’s in great shape, you know seven fights on the schedule, Bakole, Deontay Wilder, Zhilei Zhang, so those are probably the three most avoided and most threatening fighters in the world.
“He’s had back-to-back fights over the last ten years, which shows his attitude.
“He believes he is the best in the world and wants to face the best, which will give him recognition.
“He gets in the ring once again with a juvenile guy coming over to heat things up.”
Parker is Wardley’s first time fighting the former world champion, who continues to raise the bar.
His last fight was in June, when he stopped Australian prospect Justis Huni in the tenth round. He was dominated for most of the fight, but managed to land a trademark right hand to end the fight.
Wardley currently has 18 stoppages, a 95% knockout rate, and wins over Frazer Clark and David Adeleye.
“Fabio showed in his last fight that even when things don’t go his way, he’s not quick, he doesn’t give up, he doesn’t get discouraged, he just keeps shooting.
“He knows that if he can detonate on someone’s chin, they will fall asleep, so he has great leveling
“He’s as rigid as granite, he’s tough, he’s tough against sacks of balls. I think this fight with two great fighters exchanging punches is going to be very explosive. It doesn’t get any better than that.”
Haye made his final prediction based on the experience of Parker, who has boxed 180 more professional rounds than Wardley.
Parker has shared the ring with top athletes from Anthony Joshua to Dillian Whyte. He also faced the experienced Derek Chisora, defeating him in back-to-back fights.
“My pick for this particular fight, I think Joseph Parker has the experience, he’s done it many times.
“Wardley, on Saturday night we’re going to have to see something from him that he hasn’t shown up to this point other than punching power, but what’s key is how that punching power looks on the chin.”
The Ipswich boxer is set to return to the ring four months after his grueling fight with Huni.
“I’m not sure since his last fight with Huni, in that fight he lost basically every round and then obviously won by knockout at the end.
“He can fill the technical skills gap that he will need to get rid of solid, rock-solid Joseph Parker, who is in very, very good form.”
Both men have a chance to win the full world title if they are victorious on Saturday.
Parker was unlucky not to take a shot at two-time undisputed heavyweight champion Oleksandr Usyk, who became a mandatory opponent after being stopped by Ukrainian Daniel Dubois and has since received an extension before having to fight.

Jaron Ennis is the bookmakers’ main favorite to defeat Xander Zayas in their highly anticipated world title clash on Saturday in Brooklyn.
Ennis challenges Zayas for the WBO and WBA super welterweight belts at the Barclays Center live on DAZN pay-per-view.
The undefeated resident of Philadelphia enters the game as the favorite on February 11 Bet365 give the 23-year-old his first professional defeat and become world champion in two weight categories.

On Wednesday, Lewis Crocker heads to Australia to defend his IBF welterweight world title against Liam Paro for the first time.
Crocker will face Paro at the Pat Rafter Arena in Queensland, live on DAZN in the UK and Kayo Sports in Australia.
Crocker (22-0, 11 KO) became world champion in September, defeating Paddy Donovan twice before winning the rematch by split decision.
Man from Belfast recorded his second victory over Donovan after the first victory in March last year, and his rival was disqualified for hitting him after the bell.
Paro (27-1, 16 KO) is trying to become a world champion in two weight categories, having previously reigned in the super-lightweight division.
The 30-year-old won the title with a unanimous decision victory over Subriel Matias in Puerto Rico before winning the belt in his first defense against Richardson Hitchins.
The Australian has since won twice, overtaking David Papot in his last appearance in September.
McKean meets Taliva
Heavyweight Demsey McKean will look to continue his rebuild when he faces Liam Talivaa for the vacant IBF Pan Pacific title.
McKean (24-2, 16 KO) had his career cut miniature after a last-round loss to Filip Hrgovic, followed by a brutal first-round loss to Moses Itauma.

The 35-year-old southpaw returned to winning ways with back-to-back stoppage victories.
Talivaa (8-2, 4 KO) last won the IBF Oceania-Orient title, defeating Faiga Opelu by first-round stoppage.
