The WBO decision to install Keyshawn Davis in the first place in 140 is very criticized by fans this week.
They consider this movement through WBO as essentially satisfying Keyshawn (13-0, 9 KO) for his unprofessionalism In the missing weight on Friday, June 6, 2025 and deprived of his lithe title WBO after arriving at 139.3 pounds for what was supposed to be defense against Edwin de los Santos. The fight was canceled.
140-Funt bypass scandal
By giving Davis ranking No. 1 in the ranking earlier 1 Alfredo Santiago in a lithe welterweight makes WBO look bad in the eyes of fans.
Reasons why Keyshawn should not be ranking No. 1
No experience at 140: Keyshawn is vaulted by welterweight in WBO rankings, such as Alberto Pudello, Jamaine Ortiz, Isaac Cruz, Lingdolfo Delgado and Ernesto Mercado.
WBO looks unprofessional: Moving Keyshawn to No. 1 without gaining position, missing weight, dismantling and his involvement in a quarrel.
Bypassing the merit system: Davis applied for a place in the first place at 140, instead of going through ranks, like other pretenders. His quickly followed ranking on No. 1 undermines the purpose of the merit system. What’s more, fans of Keyshawn fans appear to show favoring.
The pretenders he should face
Ideally, WBO should insist that Keyshawn moved through two to three boys fighters to get the place in the first place in 140 rankings: Alberto Puello, Jamaine Ortiz and Ernesto Mercado. If Keyshawn refused to fight them or lost, he should have been classified at the bottom of the WBO ranking ranking at #15. That’s how he did it.
Can Mercado or Ortiz reveal it?
As bad as Norfolk, from Virginia Davis, looked in four losses with Andy Cruz Kuba in amateurs. I do not think that he defeated Mercado, Puello, Jamaine, and even Arnold Barbaz Jr.
What Keyshawn’s “businessman” had for him, since he changed the professional in 2021 with the highest rank, is careful, and his huge size for the division 135 pounds. Now that he fights for 140, the advantage disappears a bit and will not be able to maneuver the opposition for a long time if its goal is to fight for the title of WBO.
Is Keyshawn really ready for 140?
At 140, Keyshawna’s career could be set on fire when he faces Mercado, Richardson, Hitchins, Gary Antuanne Russell, Subriel Matias and Teofimo. These are just a few names that can ruin difficult work in building Keyshawn.
