Moses Itauma, widely tilted as the future world champion in weighty weight, conveniently added the greatest name to his undefeated record, when on Saturday he blew up Dillian Whyte in round 1.
The 20-year-old English boxer won his eighth victim of the first round after the end of shaky where with the right hook in 119 seconds of a tough fight in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
“What next?” Itauma said.
“I will fight with everyone who you put in front of me. If I’m forthright, Joseph Parker and Agit Kabayel deserve Moses Itauma claims devastating Round 1 KO of Dillian Whyte Shot, but throw me with any of this fate. I am in the first place in WBO, and Parker is there too, so maybe it will happen.
“I’m only a 20-year-old, so I’m 10 or 15. If I have the opportunity [to fight for a world title]100 percent will be [be world champion]. “
Whyte, who was detained in the 6th round by Tyson Fury for the title of WBC World in April 2022, was so far the most experienced opponent of Ituma – but Ituma made him work lightly.
It was the biggest step of Ituma so far in his pursuit of becoming the latest English world champion in weighty weight after the last reign of Anthony Joshu, Fury and Daniel Dubois.
And Ituma made it look so straightforward.
Ituma (13-0, 11 KO) is ahead of the progress of those three of the same age, but the title shot is still far away, because Oleksandr Usyk maintains all four world belts, and his two more opponents will have Parker and maybe fury.
Whyte (31-4, 21 Kos), 37, who moved to Brixton in London from Jamaica in childhood, in recent years lost some momentum, but is still a perilous blow that wins on Parker (2018) and Alexander Povetkin (2020).
Southpaw Itauma, 6 feet and 4 feet, who was born in Slovakia, but moved to Kent in England, as a petite child, showed rapid arms, glossy leg work and shocking power when he moved in the side.
Whyte held Itauma in the ring before he entered the entrance, but Ituma did not waste time to work in round 1.
A few seconds passed before Ituma began to land the power arrows, and after he hurt the left hook to the temple, he went with shots in the head and body. Whyte was on uncertain legs, and the end seemed inevitable. He came quickly when Ituma sent Whyte falling sideways on the rope with the right hook to the temple.
It was another rapid ITAUMA show, probably the most electrifying heavyweight when she went to the world championship title.
