Can Jake Paul become a world champion?

By Manny Delgado: Jake Paul (12-1, 7 Kos), “The Problem Child”, won the victory over the former WBC medium world champion, Julio Cesar Chavez Jr (54-7-1, 34 KO), last Saturday. Probably his most critical victory so far, although there is not much to write, taking into account that Chavez was a master almost 15 years ago. Not to mention that Chavez is heavily considered the biggest boxing. He never treated this sport and lives under the shadow of his father – Julio Cesar Chavez Sr., Living legend.

It was Paweł for the second time in the face of a “legal boxer”. His first was against Tommy Fury. However, Fury is not special either. There are no distinctive attributes or natural talent for this sport. Regardless of this, he handed Paul his first loss in history and the first real boxing lesson.

The result of this fight incited further and more emphasized conversations in sport. For example, Paul has never been able to compete with real boxers or become a legal boxer. It is simply “side” or “circus” because people love to claim so often. Criticism towards the generally distasteful form, such as Paul aside, taking into account his noisy fooling, many observers of this sport were generally surprised, seeing that Jake Paul improved a significant amount since his loss with Tommy Fury in 2023.

It seems that he now treats this sport and moves like a rather decent boxer at the amateur level. He is only 5 years senior since his professional boxing career, but he has a technical profile and the basics of boxers 1-2 years in a competitive amateur boxing career. However, not everyone would agree, because many would still go to call him “garbage”. It can be said that for someone with the amount of money and resources he has, it should be much better thanks to jumps and borders.

Regardless, with his best performance, there is a word that WBA officially argues him. Paweł did not waste time, calling for many fights after victory. He wants more complex challenges and become a world champion. Dreaming pipes for YouTuber, who changed the boxer, who had a very slow start in sport because he did so well in its 20 years. This is a sport in which the largest super -visits usually start as soon as they can walk, or, at least, with their early teenagers. Although there are exceptions, these are often fights with technically restricted skills. In this respect, Paweł is still a very restricted boxer.

Many would even go to Jake Paul delusions and it would be complex to argue, even Chavez Jr mentioned in an interview after the fight that he does not think that Paul is ready for any of the masters. Jake replied: “I only need myself if I listened to someone in my life, I would not be where I am today, so self -confidence, self -confidence.”

He followed a positive message for children, repeating the meaning of faith of himself:

“If you are a child at home, do not listen to anyone who tells you, you cannot do shit. I am a living proof of this *** I am with ohio. I did not have s ***. Self -styled mother ***

This can be easily criticized by those who condemn him as the right message, the wrong messenger. Apart from criticism, after all, this is a positive message that can be said that it resonates with many youthful and sensitive minds. Despite all the shortcomings of Jake Paul in the form and erroneous methods of delivery, he cannot be knocked too much to his good attempts to inspire the next generation.

There are also a lot of criticism towards Paweł about the legitimacy of his fights. Words such as “falsified”, “Circus act” and “script” are thrown into the conversation mixture, synonymously with any reference to his name. The way he carefully chose his opponents does not differ from how up-to-date perspectives are paired with taxi drivers, construction staff and general sideboards. This is to win their records with winning their first 10-20 GHTTS to build their certainty. The difference is that Jake Paul does it at a larger stage and uses it when choosing recognizable names. He secures greater payments, fighting with MM on surpluses, retired legends and presses, and not taking into account the incomplete time, which is known only by him at his home.

It is a wise move and is not very different than a typical boxing tradition, but one that has gathered a lot of criticism because of how much generally it is to avoid boxing fans. His approach is controversial because of his sensationalism, many claimed that completely “mockery” of this sport.

During the interview after the beating, Paul called Zurdo Ramirez, Badou Jack, Anthony Joshua, Gervont Davis and Tommy Fury. It seems that Jake Paul feels more confident than ever. This can be attributed to his six -chain series of winnings, because the defeat of Tommy Fury, in which he includes the legend of Mike Tyson, and currently the former champion Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. This newly discovered trust of the natural progress of victorious fights they reach internally. Of course, the plays are in the game. This can be called an illusion and exaggerated self -control, which is possible thanks to Paweł’s mental gymnastics. Because he defeated the legendary Mike Tyson, the most recognizable name in boxing (even if he is a senior now), for Jake Paul, it may seem so satisfying as if he was able to defeat the main Mike Tyson.

Regardless of Paweł, if we are to seriously treat him seriously in his pursuit of greatness and believe that he intends to come up with the names he called, which many simply consider to be an extension of his antics. The question remains: can he really become the world champion?

Most boxing fans aggressively do not agree. Although Paul showed constant improvements and provided a respectable performance, showing a solid understanding of the basic basics of boxing, it is still an amateur boxing level. He has a long way before he can become a world champion, if at all. In the end he made a solid beating in 9 and 10 rounds, when Chavez Jr was ready to let his hands leave.

The most realistic pursuit of Paweł would be to suggest his loss against boxer lower Tommy Fury. However, even if it happened, it seems that it is moved by playing more than it can chew, challenging justified boxers at the world level. Pressing or real ambitions? They will only inform the coming months.

Ryan Garcia is calling for his next fight after winning the WBC title

Image: Ryan Garcia Urges Promoters to Book Next Fight Now

“I want to fight so bad to fight 😩 I feel even more now that I have the belt. CHAMPION wants to fight. SOMEONE RUNS THE SCRAP” said Ryan Garcia on X.

Ryan probably talks a lot so as not to get stuck in a mandatory defense that pays a pittance. By demanding Conor Benn or celebrity rematches, he forces the hand of his promoters.

The reality is that Ryan holds the WBC belt, but the division is currently a waiting game. If someone like Turki Alalshikh doesn’t find Benn worth the investment despite his struggles with Regis Prograis, Ryan could be in for a close fight, which he definitely doesn’t want.

If Ryan had a “fight anyone, anywhere” mentality, he wouldn’t be in this situation. “Sugar Ray Robinson” would have already signed a contract to fight the most perilous guy available to prove his point.

Ryan’s current situation is a perfect example of a player falling into the trap of his own financial expectations. Because he has such a huge fan base, he feels like he can’t make a “normal” title defense if it wasn’t a blockbuster event.

It’s telling that Ryan’s interest in Benn increased right after Benn appeared to be the one to beat against Regis Prograis on April 11. It’s a business-first attitude. He is looking for the highest payout with the least technical risk.

Rejecting Rolly Romero as an option but going after the guy whose eyes the 37-year-old Prograis just slashed, Ryan shows his hand. He wants a name he thinks he can easily beat.

Shakur Stevenson called out by world champion looking to move up in weight

WBO super lightweight world champion Shakur Stevenson is a fighter that many in the sport seem to want to avoid, but there is one other world champion who is hoping to make weight and secure a matchup with the undefeated southpaw from Newark.

Stevenson became the third-youngest world champion in boxing’s four divisions when he dethroned Teofimo Lopez in January. increasing his success at featherweight, super featherweight and lightweight.

Stevenson was expected to return to lightweight and defend the WBC belt in 2023, but the sanctioning body stripped him of his lightweight crown due to unpaid sanctioning fees. As a result, it appears the 28-year-old will remain at 140 pounds, but if he decides to drop back down, WBC super featherweight champion O’Shaquie Foster wants to meet him there.

I’m talking to Fighting the noiseFoster said facing the pound-for-pound star after his fight with Raymond Ford next month is the “first option.”

“I’m just excited to see what’s next, when we knock him down [Ford] If we lose, we’ll have the gigantic fight that Shakur and I want, and the sky is the limit.

“This [fight with Shakur] would be the first option, but if we can’t get him, maybe a Roach-Zepeda winner.

Foster – Who and Ford will collide in Houston on Saturday, May 30, while Lamont Roach Jr and William Zepeda have been ordered to fight for the vacant WBC lightweight title that Stevenson held until February.

Meanwhile, Stevenson has also been linked with a move to welterweight, but has maintained that a rehydration clause should be included in his contract for any potential 147-pound fights.

DiBella questions the long-term value of Berlanga and Hitchins

Image: DiBella Questions Berlanga, Hitchins Long-Term Value

They can find a recent ponderous hitter who will knock out 15 players and call him “the next Berlanga.” They can find a hunky boxer and market him as “the next Hitchins.”

By doing it in-house, they control the narrative and, more importantly, the costs. DiBella argues that if Zuffa’s model works, the days of a fighter like Berlanga managing “overpaid” portfolios will be gone because the system will simply produce a cheaper version of the same “asset.”

“I have to be truthful with you, I don’t think it makes any difference. If that’s the case [Zuffa Boxing] doing things the right way, these guys are largely irrelevant,” DiBella said to Ariel Helwani.

“No offense to Richardson. He’s a good fighter. In five years, no one will care about Richardson Hitchins or Berlanga. It doesn’t matter.”

Berlanga faced the harshest criticism. DiBella pointed out how his early series was structured and how it shaped perceptions.

“There may be no fighter in the history of boxing, and this is a tribute to Keith Connolly, a little tribute to Berlanga, and a little tribute to Top Rank, who understood that you can take an average fighter and feed him 15 ham sandwiches and knock him out. After 15 ham sandwiches, he’s 15-0 with 15 knockouts.”

When talking about Berlanga, Dibella describes a guy whose entire reputation was built on a padded board designed to look spectacular on paper.

“So a little tribute to everyone. Berlanga is the most overpaid fighter, one of the most overpaid fighters in the history of boxing,” DiBella said.
