Published

on

Comparisons to Deontay Wilder appeared again when Joshua Edwards reached 2-0 with a knockout in the first round.

Edwards, which appeared at the Olympic Games in 2024 without securing the medal, looks like adapted to professional ranks.

The “Rocket”, from Houston, Texas, meant that two breaks from two wins, when he provided a stunning KO in the first round.

The 25-year-old blew up Aleksander Rhodes on the canvas with Haymaker’s right hand, making an opponent out of commission.

From now on, all eyes will be on Edwards when the US wants another great heavyweight hit. Wilder is approaching the end of his career, and Richard Torrez is currently considered a natural successor.

However, many said the same thing about Jared Anderson by leaving Torrez and Edwards with lots to prove.

In the main event, super average weight Betemir Melikuziv I overcame the challenge of previously undefeated Darius Fulghum to reach the top in the war.

Melikuziv won the eliminator with a super medium weight WBA, which will eventually lead to a crack in the undisputed master Canelo Alvarez.

The Uzbek from Uzbek fought fire with Fulgham, who was more brilliant of two veterans. However, where Melikuziv lacked skill, he made up more than discipline and fortitude when he impressed watching the ring.

Despite the cut in the fourth round, “Bek” was slow to drop Fulgham and make a decision using compact margins. Melikuzov improved to 16-1, 10 KO with a unanimous decision around the world, reading 114-112.

The sums have proven how much knocking during the last session means. Fulgham drops to 14-1, 12 KO with the first taste of failure.
