Dmitriry Bivol releases the title of WBC to Sidetep David Benavidez, the priority of the Lucrative Trilogy Artur

Image: De La Hoya: Bivol vs. Benavidez is the Fight to Make, Not a Beterbiev Trilogy

The undisputed delicate heavyweight master, Dmitriry Bivol, will leave his WBC 175-Funtów title to avoid the offer of tomorrow in the bag on April 8 for his fight with WBC with the mandatory David Benavidez in favor of the lucrative mega-Million of the trilogy with Artur Beterbaview.

This is a movement that was protected because Benavidez (30-0, 24 KO) is A terrible style duel For 34-year-old Bivol and probably beat him and would pull him some gloss from his trilogy match with Artur Beterbiemar.

28 -year -old David Benavidez would be too much for Bivol and it’s good that he knows his limitations. Even if Dmitriry wins before Artur, it is unlikely that he willingly agreed to fight Benavidez, because his style does not match him.

Beterbiev trilogy

Ring reports This bivol “will continue the trilogy of Artur Beterbuwal.” This is a fight that Turks wants, and it will pay well for Bivol. If there was more money in Benavidez’s fight, it is obvious that Bivol would go in this direction, even though he would be a competition for him that would be an absolute nightmare for him.

Fans in social media are ambivalent in this message, because many of them are tired of vision Bivol and Beterbuala fighting with them in chess matches, which resemble a wolf of racing a rabbit around the forest. Artur won the first fight on October 12 last year and fought well enough to get Remota on February 22, but the judges received a strict contract.

I got this draw. It was a strange fight. Beterbavin easily dominated the fight in rounds from 2 to 6, but then he stopped throwing blows from rounds from 7 to 11.

Suddenly Beterbiev overturned his crime in the 12th round and defeated the living daylight with Bivol, having him close to knocking. It was like switching on a delicate switch. Beterbiev fought in the same way at 12, as in rounds from 2 to 6.

It looked very strange. Did he try to lose the fight so that he could make sure that there would be a trilogy? Some boxing fans believe. I can only say that it was strange that he would dominate the effort in the first half, and then stop throwing blows for the next five rounds to 12.

If Beterbiev fights aggressively, as in the final round, Bivol has no chance in the trilogy, because he is too breakable to stand over his shots. The same would happen if Bivol fought with David Benavidez, but it would be much faster. He would not let him reach the second half like Arthur.

There was no chance that Bivol would gladly face the Mexican monster Benavidez and will be chopped in six rounds. He would not risk such a great payment against Beterbaview.

According to the president of WBC Mauricio Sulaiman, David Benavidez has now been raised to the full master when Bivol left. It is a pity that we did not have the right method for Benavidez to capture the WBC title, but what can you do? Bivol could fight Benavidez, but he decided to take a trilogy match against Beterbiv. The winner of this fight can always face Benavidez later and it would be an exhilarating fight for fans.

Tyson Fury Raises Doubts on Potential Anthony Joshua Fight: "I Can Never See Him Taking That"

Tyson Fury has raised serious concerns over his proposed showdown with Anthony Joshua.

After over a decade of build-up, Fury and Joshua finally look set to meet later this year, provided that both men can first come through their respective warm-up bouts this weekend.

Fury takes on Mariusz Wach in Thailand on Friday, before Joshua then meets Kristian Prenga in Saudi Arabia 24 hours laterseemingly paving the way for the all-British showdown at the end of 2026.

‘The Gypsy King’ still doesn’t seem convinced that it will happen though, as he shared his doubts whilst speaking to IFL TV.

“Until that fight happens and we’re walking to the ring, I’m not convinced it does. 100% [I’m doubtful].

I can never see that stiff sitting on a table with me ever. What the f**k is he going to say? I can never see him at a press conference with me, it would be a bombardment. I can never see him taking that.

“He wouldn’t even get in the ring [after the Makhmudov fight]. He s**t himself and sat on a stool outside and didn’t even want to get up and build the fight and make the fight happen when Turki said to us both ‘come on boys let’s do it get in the ring and make it happen.’

“He didn’t want to do it, so how is he going to come face to face with me at a press conference? I think he’s a bottle job, a flapper, a chinless wonder as well.”

Despite Fury’s fears, all signs still point towards the fight taking place later this year, though there still remains a debate over where it will be held.

Two Brits Set for World Title Showdown as Dmitry Bivol Primed to Vacate WBO Belt

"Two Brits Set for World Title Showdown as Dmitry Bivol Primed to Vacate WBO Belt"

Dmitry Bivol looked as if he was ready to move on from a trilogy fight with Artur Beterbiev, but it now seems as though the unified light-heavyweight world champion is ready to run it back with his rival, thus opening the door for two Brits to compete for one of his belts.

Bivol claimed the undisputed light-heavyweight crown in February 2025 when he avenged his defeat to Beterbiev with a majority-decision win, but he soon relinquished the WBC marble – which was then handed to David Benavidez.

After 15 months of inactivity, Bivol returned to action in May to fulfil his IBF mandatory and shake off some ring rust against Germany’s Michael Eifertbut it was then believed that Bivol would proceed with his WBO mandatory and next face Liverpool’s Callum Smith, much to the frustration of Beterbiev.

Yet, in an interview with Ring MagazineBivol’s promoter, Eddie Hearn, has revealed that the 35-year-old is instead keen for a third fight with the Russian-Canadian. Therefore, he expects Bivol to vacate the WBO world title in order to make it happen, with Smith likely to rematch Joshua Buatsi for the vacant belt.

“I think it’s unlikely he will defend against Smith. I think Smith will fight Joshua Buatsi for the vacant title. But Dmitry is ready to make the Beterbiev fight.”

Smith decisioned Buatsi on the Beterbiev-Bivol II undercard in a Fight of the Year contender and Smith is yet to fight since, whilst Buatsi was seen as fortunate by some to get the decision when he returned and fought Zach Parker in November.

Smith and Buatsi could be set to top the bill of the second ‘Matchroom vs Queensberry’ event, which will likely take place in November.

Hasim Rahman Declares One Heavyweight as the Greatest Ever: Ali Would Be Too Small for Him

"Hasim Rahman Declares One Heavyweight as the Greatest Ever: 'Ali Would Be Too Small for Him'"

Former world champion Hasim Rahman believes that, in any era of heavyweight boxing, one man would solidify himself at the top of the tree.

‘The Rock’ is best known for his monumental upset victory over Lennox Lewis in 2001when a stunning fifth-round finish saw him claim the WBC and IBF titles.

Before their heavyweight encounter, many had questioned the logic behind Lewis’ training camp in Las Vegas, given that he was to defend his titles in South Africa.

Not only that, but ‘The Lion’ afforded himself little time to adjust to the African nation’s high altitude, with his performance ultimately reflecting a lack of preparation.

Lewis did, however, manage to produce a much improved display in their immediate rematch, reclaiming his titles with a ruthless fourth-round stoppage.

As a result, Rahman has since named his former foe as the greatest heavyweight of all time, above the likes of Muhammad AliJack Dempsey and Rocky Marciano.

Unlike those three all-time greats, Rahman told BBC Radio 5 Livethat Lewis not only possessed impeccable ring intelligence but could also utilise his physical attributes to a much greater extent than others.

“I’m finding it hard to put somebody ahead of him. In any era … I just really don’t know who could beat him.

“[Ali, Dempsey, Marciano…] Those guys were too small. I mean, Ali was too small for George Foreman back then, when he was a smaller version of Big George, so how could he deal with someone like Lennox – who is huge and can move, and can use his distance well?

“I think it’s really unfair to compare eras, but I just don’t know who could deal with that man.”

Lewis was a three-time world heavyweight champion, and up until Oleksandr Usyk repeated the feat in 2024, was the last undisputed heavyweight champion following his win over Evander Holyfield in 1999.

After defeating Rahman, Lewis also scored an eighth-round finish over Mike Tyson and ended his illustrious career by stopping Vitali Klitschko in six rounds.
