Mikaela Mayer Bests Sandy Ryan through a unanimous decision

“The fight was Banger.” This is how boxing Insider wrote after Mikaela Mayer won the WBO welterweight title from Sandy Ryan. However, the fight in 2024 appeared with a high degree of controversy. Ryan was attacked by a paint thrown at her just a few hours before the opening bell. The warrior was then and what understood that the fact that led to the argument that Ryan was not in the fight. Such a critic is enough to raise the eyebrows when he realizes that Ryan has lost from Mayer that night in terms of most decisions.
The rematch was clearly fine. And this rematch fell on Saturday evening in Los Vegas. Suffice it to say that there were a lot of hostility between the two fighting before. “I intend to put her in the hospital as last time.” Mayer hissed during the battle. The question on Saturday was not only who won, but the rematch would be as invigorating as the first fight? The fight was set for 10 minutes and was the main event of the highest class promotional card on ESPN.
The first round was a close and quite invigorating chapter in which Mayer lands effectively. However, Ryan landed well in the second. Mayer dominated the third with combinations. Ryan certainly landed solid shots, but was significantly overwhelmed by the defending master. Mayer simply controlled the fourth. Ryan clearly had to be more vigorous. Mayer cut off solid shots in the fifth round. In the middle of the fight it was obvious that Mayer was on the verge of a departure from Ryan’s game.
In the sixth round Ryan started working on his body. Will the strategy finally pay off? If the seventh was any clue as it can. For the pretender, he dug deeply and landed firmly during the round. Mayer was cut out in the exhausting eighth round thanks to the kindness of a random ass. Ryan rejected Mayer in the ninth place, although it had to be said that Mayer took his own photos.
What’s more, Mayer swayed Ryan at the beginning of the tenth and final round. Both women began to move him through the rest of the chapter. It was a close fight, but not so close that people could say that Ryan was robbed when the judges won Mayer through a unanimous decision.

Josh Taylor vs. Essuman, Ituma vs. Balogun on May 24 – Live on Dazn

The unquestioned champion Josh Taylor (19-2, 13 KO) will fight for the meaning and redemption on May 24, when he debuts in a welterweight against WBO European Belt-Holder Eivow Essuman (21-1, 8 KO) in Glasgow. Card streams live on Dazn (22:00 Local / 17:00 et / 14:00 PT) with Hydro Ovo.
This is Taylor’s first fight in Scotland from the controversial Catterall saga, and this time there is no margin of error. He is older, heavier and moves away with losses. Let’s see if the crowd still believes.
Taylor’s Homecoming: Redemption Tour or Retirement Road?
Taylor was a long fall. After cleaning 140 victories over Baranchyk, Prograis and Ramirez, he slipped into the fog of disputed victories, injuries, and ultimately two clear paralysis – one for Cattell, and the other against Theofimo Lopez, where he looked like the spirit of his aged self.
Now at the age of 34 he enters the weight class full of wolves. And they will not respect his past. They will test what is left of the present. Essuman may not be an elite, but it is not pressure. And if Taylor looks flat, tired or selfless, Glasgow can quickly become hostile.
It’s more than just a return. It’s a career. Win and he can get another gigantic payment day. Lose, and the conversation turns away from “What next?” “What went wrong?”
Essuman’s shot to destroy heritage – and he knows about it
Essuman is not here for payment. The former British champion, Commonwealth and IBF Euro, rebuilt after his only defeat with Harry Scarff last year. Since then, Owen Cooper and Ben Vaughana knocked down: he explained: he wants to fight at the level.
He has an engine, has experience and has already crashed the jaws in the ring. Ask Danny Ball. Essuman is not afraid of Glasgow. He fought under the lights in Wembley and Manchester. The scene will not scare him – and the name of Taylor will not be either.
If he wins, he jumps straight into the WBO mixture at 147. If he loses? It will continue to come out with greater credibility than when he came in.
The invincible British heavyweight Moses Itauma (11-0, 9 KO) returns on May 24, in the face of the former NFL linebacker, Mike Balogun (21-1, 16 KO) in Hydro Ovo in Glasgow.
Balogun brings a size, not danger – Moses should have fun through it
Ituma destroyed Demesey McKean in two minutes of flat in December in Riyadh. Since then, fans have been waiting for months for their next victim. Go to Mike Balogun: Southpaw, a tough guy, a padded record and the best known for flattening by Murat Gasssiev in less than six minutes.
Sure, Balogun has 21 wins, but let’s not pretend that these names mean something. His last trip? Winning points over Lamont Capers – a walking definition of a “safe and sound opponent”.
His is a presentation. Balogun is here to eat blows, try to get it and may survive long enough to test Itauma’s patience. If possible at all.
Moses is marching – but the real danger is approaching forward
The golden boy Queensberry wants the belt. And with another dominant KO, he approaches the title eliminator. If he looks edged, you can put names such as Hrgovic, Makhmudov or Kabayel, they begin to float in the backsthrough.
For now, Balogun is speed. But Ituma not only defeats opponents – he erases them. And if the Balogun becomes sloppy or conceited for a second, he can wake up staring at the lights.
It is no longer about proving yourself. It’s about ticking fields until great fights land.

The stunning incident saw that the boxing judge attacked and threw out of the ring cruelly after he organized a fight in the Dominican Republic on Saturday evening.
The incident took place in Pabellon de Karate at Centro Olimpico, Santo Domingo, in the fight between the unbeaten Marcelino Nieves and the experienced Norbelto Jimenez.
Shuan Boxing promoted an event that the World Council promised to investigate. Nieves, 19-0, lost for the first time and violence broke out.
Confirming the results, Shuan Boxing said: “Jimenez raised a victory against Marcelino, after an intense fight, which kept the audience on the edge of their places.
“Congratulations on both Pugilists for their submission and we thank the public for constant support for national boxing.”
However, the members of the Nieves Stal team accused of commitment, despite reports that the judge achieved worse results in the fight against the card.
One culprit strikes an official who retreats towards the ropes. Many others enter the ring, and the judge is unceremoniously thrown onto the floor.
After observing the shocking event, the president of WBC Mauricio Sulaiman swore to take action.
“It is a brutal, unacceptable, cowardly attack on a judge in the Dominican Republic.

– Mauricio Sulaiman (@Wbcoro) May 18, 2025
Claressa Shields, a champion of star and heavyweight, responded to the position of Sulaiman. She said, “I can’t believe it really happened.”
Boxer, Maria Cornejo, added: “So melancholy! Inadmissible.”
Later Shuan Boxing issued a statement for World Boxing News. He read: “To our audience, media and community:
“We express our gratitude from the Shuan boxing promotion for attendance and support provided during the Night of the Fight.
“However, we deeply regret that during the development of the event there was some incorrect behavior, engaging people who do not represent the values and philosophy of our company.
“We will completely break away from these attitudes and repeat our involvement in honesty, respect and truthful sport.
“We will debt the honest apology of the audience and all participants whose behavior affected these behaviors outside our will. We take the necessary means to prevent similar situations in future editions.
“We hope that in addition to these isolated incidents, you liked boxing matches and the level of sports, which was prepared with such a great effort to ensure the performance at the peak of our fans.
“Thank you for understanding, trust and continuous support of professional boxing. SHUAN boxing promotion.”
The official has not yet been mentioned because the provisions have not been updated to reflect the results of the program. However, the investigation of WBC should reveal more on the coming days.

Boxing results: Bohachuk is trying to solve the style of mykal Fox in disappointing performance, wins a controversial decision

Former Munior Midior Midior Middle WBC, Serhii Bohachuk (26-2, 24 KO), won more tough than the expected unanimous decision about Crafty, 6’3 ″ Mykal Fox (24-5, 5 KO) on Saturday evening at Commerce Casino in Commerce, California. It was a fight that could easily go the other way to Fox or get a draw.
Close rounds, wide results
The results were 97-93, 97-93 and 98-92. I fired a fight for FOX 97-93. There was a knockout that should be attributed to Fox.
The rounds were close, which makes it tough to say who is better than the action. Fox overtook the ponderous Bochuk with a wide margin, constantly forcing him to shots. 30 -year -old Bohachuk was an aggressor throughout the entire continuous, but he hit him many times through Fox when he was approaching forward. Gangling Fox was wearing nothing, but there were so many that it was tough to give Bohachuk many rounds.
A bit of controversy was involved in the 10th place when Fox dropped Bohachuka with a stab when he was approaching. The judge said it was a slip, but he looked like a clear knocking out. Fox perfectly wrote his stab, catching Boachuka when he got stuck and dropped him.
This would not change the result of the fight if the judge ruled that he was knocking down, but he would approach. Even with a seemingly blown up call, Fox looked like he had done enough to win or deserve a draw.
Bohachuk was not a good performance at all. Compared to the war with Vergil Ortiz Jr. In August last year, it wasn’t such a good effort. He never invented the Fox style and did not fight for the episode when a gaunt warrior began to hit him a lot.
Problems with accuracy for Boachuk
Bohachuk often left his arrows and from time to time caught Fox with a good shot. Bohachuk did not focus his blows on Fox’s body because his accuracy would augment. He left so many shots, trying to hit an elusive fox in the head, and it looked like his hand-cook coordination was turned off. He resembled Rocky Balboa, repeatedly missing shots and crashed. Sometimes it was tough to watch it.
Whereas, Lightweight Southpaw welterweight Shohjahon ergashev He was much more correct when he fought Fox in 2019. He joined with his left hands and effectively coped with the predominance of growth. Egashev would remain beyond reach and Then rush forward to catch Fox with your left hands.
