Clash of Styles in 135 as Zepeda Rematches Farmer or Zepeda shines in Cancun?
Published
5 days agoon

By Joe Hicketts: William Zepeda (32-0, 27 KO) will face Tevin Farmer (33-7-1, 8 KO) at Cancun on Saturday, March 29, in the rematch of the fight of November 2024, which Zepeda won by a unanimous decision. The fight will take place for the fleeting world title WBC Zepeda and will be broadcast live in Dazn.
The best stories in sport often include clash styles. I think about people like Federer still, sleepy elementary and of course Ali Frazier. It seems to me that I have always had some weakness for two people who approach the same problem in completely different ways and clash of culture that can bring.
That is why this weekend, although in fact it is quite a completed world fight, it will slightly capture my imagination in a way that it cannot not do two fighters in a similar style.
William Zepeda revises Tevin Farmer this Saturday in the rematch of the first fight in November and this can be considered a bit of a respected salon in a salon for a farmer who, although somewhat unlucky in his career, so as not to fight the fact that there is simply no tank davis.
The farmer in the earlier part of his career really looked in the form of Pernell Whitaker, the skillful boxing of Southpaw, a lot of head movement with an occasional flashy single, the biggest difference between the two would be the power, which the farmer unfortunately lacks a bit, and there his opponent William Zepeda last year.
If a farmer is a typical, flashy southern American style, then Zepeda is a typical Mexican warrior, which is also Southpaw. Nothing really protrudes on Zepeda’s watch, except for its exit. He is much more straightened and textbook in his style than a farmer, and fights with a typical solid Mexican look, go inside, and then three blows to the body and end up at the top.
None of this is particularly spectacular, but what makes Zepeda unique is that the power is quite witty. I am not really for punch statistics, but in the previous fight Farmer Zepeda threw 131 blows in the round itself 9 and although none of the blows has the real power of the shock, it is a volume that will eventually drown the opponent.
The best comparison would be strangely someone like Oleksandr Usyk, while both have completely different styles, both rely on a consistent stream of solid blows, and not wild hay in style, to cause injuries, Zepeda is not one of them, despite what his attitude says KO, but he has a very solid variety up and inheritance, which means that this is never possible to be foreseen.
I would say that at least Zepeda is one of those guys who really know how to fight one way, like Oleksandr Uyk, it is one thing again knowing what someone will do; This is another thing to go out and stop properly. Zepeda will come out like a train and get into the face, throwing difficult arrows, drown and effectively try to sink with activity, because I said that nothing is so unique, but you have to tardy it down in some form, holding it or perfectly through a little power in your own shots.
Do you see where I choose here?
In the previous fight, the farmer on my card lost the first three rounds, not because he did not succeed, but because his and two were not enough to drown the combinations of five-sets, which Zepeda threw. In low, the farmer could not make his slower fight. The farmer finally dropped Zeda with a slip textbook and left the counter in the fourth, but in fact Zepeda won the fight quite comfortably, walking forward, overwhelming the older American and collecting rounds of activity.
I do not think that Zepeda is a world beater, which Golden Boy thinks that he, I have not seen a lot of diversity in how he can fight, I do not think that he hires a lot of movement of the head, and if he confirmed, I do not think that he would be almost so effective. The question is, however, whether the farmer is the guy who did it?
If I were a farmer, I would look at many fights by Bernard Hopkins for inspiration, he must somehow tardy down Zeda, make her ugly, and then try to push away Zepeda in the second half of the fight, which he managed to do in the first places, the slower, the better for the farmer. The difficulty, however, is that I do not think that the farmer really had a gas tank and the power to get the power of Zepeda, and in the age of 34, will it really be better than in the previous fight?
I really like the farmer as a warrior, I think he is much more exhilarating than many cases and despite the reputation of a skillful boxer, the guy can keep the feet and trade inside, the problem is that such a possibility could take place 5 years too overdue.
A younger farmer could give Zepeda Fits, I just have the impression that if it were a farmer’s time, it would be in the first fight.
I see the fight as an effective replay of the first, and the farmer has a bit overwhelmed from the opening bell. You can see a farmer who wants to keep your legs a little and try to get Mexico’s respect, and if this happens, it can be a more exhilarating fight, I just see how more likely the script is when Zepeda sends some punishment, because the farmer lands, but a farmer not fully having a killer to reverse the screw, Zepeda returns to her and collect the round, as in the first punishment. The farmer will have his moments, but as I see in the first one, one difficult left hand is enough for four Majaki from the inside. I think that Zepeda’s unanimous decision is quite a protected plant, but I would like to prove that he is wrong.
Based on the card, Oscar Collazo (11-0, 8 KO) defends its title of straw Edwin Cano Hernandez (13-2-1, 4 KO).

Ennis vs. Stanionis: Will the “shoes” prove to be noise or failure and smoke?

Promoter Eddie Hearn predicts that on April 12, the struggle of unification between Jaron Masters Jaron “Boots” Ennis and Eimantas Stanionis will be “the biggest fight in the USA this year”, when the headline at Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City, Up-to-date Jersey.
Hearn says that this fight will show whether Ennis (33-0, 29 KO) is “real great” or not. Unfortunately, Ennis looked great in his last defense of the title against Karen Chukhadzhian on November 9 at the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia. Some believe that the shoes showed his real colors and that he was never as good as noise.
Stanionis: Test
After Jaron worked for a 12-round decision, boxing fans began to jump over, abandoning the Ennis ship and perceiving him as a lost case.
It was not the first time Ennis looked marginal, because in his first fight he turned in bad performances against David Avanesian, Roiman Villa and Chukhadzhian.
Although Ennis talked about a good game, he did not look like the same warrior who had been organized with a higher class of fighters since he was. His boxing IQ is gone. We saw Karen so loudly and clearly when Karen taught him in November last year. The promoter of Matchroom, Hearn, may have remorse the buyer, regretting pouring the signing of Ennis.
If the shoes look bad against Stanionis on April 12, it will be engaging to check whether Hearn will keep him on board or give it up like a bad habit.
“This is the biggest fight in the USA this year. It is supremacja. #1 against No. 2. WBA, IBF and Ring Magazine,” said Eddie Hearn to Stamping At around April 9, the fight between the IBF Errol Spence welterweight master and WBA champion Eimantas Stanionis in Atlantic City, Up-to-date Jersey.
“This is the best struggle in the welterweight and stylistically division, it is such a brilliant fight. Stanionis is a beast- the whole action, a bunch of action and a really good technique.” Shoes “are really against it. Despite all the noise and everything, this is a fight in which “shoes” show that it is a real great, and I can’t wait. “
Hearn is wearing his promoter’s hat when he claims that Ennis vs. Stanionis is “the biggest fight in the USA this year” because apparently not. There is an excellent card on May 2 at the Times Square, which has several fights that will attract greater interest in fans than this.
“Hall Boardwalk, I think we will have 10,000 there. It will be absolutely amazing,” said Hearn. “This is the biggest fight in the USA this year and the best fight in the USA this year. Yes, April 12 at Hall Boardwalk.”
In Boardwalk Hall there will be a nice crowd for the ennis-Stanionis party. Shoes and Stanonis will have to keep a fun program to make fans elated. Hearn hopes that the shoes are making a number on Eimantas so that he can start setting another unification fight with the WBO WBO BRIAN Norman Jr. Or more likely that WBC Master Mario Barrios.
It seems to me that Hearn will save Norman Jr. Finally, because he is the most tough of the other two masters he would have to defeat. The longer Ennis is waiting, the better for him, because Norman Jr. He can be picked up by someone, which would save him a problem with fighting him.
“It’s a unique collection of two lanes. WBA and a ring magazine,” said Boots to Matchroom boxing about his fight with Stanionis.
“It’s a good fight. Stanionis is one of the best. I think he is one of the best in this weight,” said Derek “Bozi” ENNIS. “This is where you will see shoes at a different level. They have not seen a high level yet. I think that the shoes have fallen into the habit of exclusion.

Joyce vs. Hrgovic, the battle for the meaning: “I will win” – predicts Joyce

Joe Joyce predicts that he will defeat the pretender for heavyweight Filip Hrgovica in a 10-round headliner on Saturday, April 5, live at DAZN at 14:00 et/11: 00 PT with Co-OP Live Arena in Manchester, England.
No warrior can afford another loss if they want to stay in hunting for a shot in the title of world champion. 32 -year -old Hrgovic was knocked out in the eighth round by Daniel Dubois in June last year in Riyjad in a fight in which he was a favorite to win.
Hrgovic was put as a substitute after Dillian Whyte withdrew from the fight with Joyce because of an injury. He is a complex deputy for Joyce and he doesn’t look good.
“The Juggernaut” Joyce (16-3, 13 KO) has a 1-3 record in its last four fights and slipped out of the 15 best rankings after his last defeat with Derek Chisor on July 27 last year. Joe’s performance in this fight was one of the worst in his career because he looked slowly at 281 pounds.
It seems that Joyce has not cut the Saturday fight against the replacement opponent of Hrgovic (17-1, 14 KO), which can be a bad news for him. In the last three fights of Joyce he weighed in the years 280. And this is too much weight for him, because he is too free to carry this kind of size. It must be in the 250s, but it doesn’t look like it happened.
“It is quite highly rated and it is a name that will return to the top,” said Joe Joyce Queensberry About his fight with the pretender Filip Hrgovic on Saturday, April 5 in Manchester, England. “Bookmakers are not always right. Let’s see. This is a great fight,” said Juggernaut Joyce, asked why Hrgovic became a favorite, even though Daniel Dubois lost.
Hrgovic occupies #6 IBF, #6 WBA and #6 WBC. After the way he looked with his loss with Dubois, he will probably have to focus on winning the position to fight in the eliminator of the world championship title to become a must. None of the champions will give Hrgovica the title of world champion in voluntary defense because he is too hazardous.
Second round
“This is not the best situation, but there is a great recovery,” Joyce said about his thoughts about Dillian Whyte withdrawing from the fight. “Yes, it’s a pity what happened to his finger, but it can happen in boxing.”
Whyte would still be a really complex fight for this version of Joyce, but more possible to win than towards Hrgovic. This is a bad duel for Joyce, unless he finds a youth fountain.
“I know his posture, his style and who he trains,” said Joyce about Hrgovita. “I have a good idea for what to do and how to beat it. It was a great performance, and I try to do the same,” said Joyce about his five -time win in the decision with Hrgovic at the World Series of Boxing in 2013.
“We had fights, we learned and we intend to have a great fight. There is some history, but I will win.”

MICKEY BEY Plan for Terenka Crawford against Canelo Alvarez; Strive for 165-168 pounds to maintain speed and agility

Coach Mickey Bey says that Terenka Crawford should not be hefty on his title challenge against Unified Super Middle Wweight Champion Canelo Alvarez in September.
(Credit: Mark Robinson/Matchroom)
Bey thinks that Bud is smarter, who has inflammation from 165 to 168 at night. He says that Crawford should fight more or less the same weight in which he weighs, because it would allow him to maintain speed against Alvarez (62-2-2, 39 KO)
Crawford will not give any additional power than what he had at the age of 154 or 147. Adding muscles does not improve power in many cases, especially when a fighter in a hurry during one training camp. The only time to add additional muscles improves the power when the warrior is on PED, as in the case of steroids designed to create strength.
The perfect weight of Crawford
“In my opinion, I would not be hefty. I would come at 165 and on the same weight to fight. 165 or 168,” said coach Mickey Bey to Millcity boxing Asked what weight, Crawford, he should break free to fight with the United Champion of the super medium weight Canelo Alvarez on September 13.
Crawford already looks like he has packaged a lot of pounds and seems much larger than during the last fight. Of course, the training camp did not start. Maybe Crawford will eliminate, but it doesn’t look like it will be. He counts on the possibility of matching Alvarez in the size department.
“He shouldn’t hydrate much. He should just stay where he is. Why would he hydrate a lot when he is growing?” Bey said about Crawford. “I’m talking about the best form. Yes, it can weigh. I say that Crawford should be under 170 in the ring or at the age of 170.”
Crawford will be tardy if it again takes 180 pounds after incision of the fight against Canelo, and this will act against his ability to move around the ring. The best thing for him is his speed and mobility. It will be devoted to this if he spends up to 180 years.
Fight night weight
“Whatever feels good in sparring many times, in this I came to. 168-171, I would remain in this respect. This is the only factor, he was not too free. 165 and fights anywhere on the same weight. He will probably have 165 or 170 when he will fight. He can do 160 very uncomplicated or 154, he can do.
“So he can enter everything like Floyd at the age of 154. With Crawford, when he is in the best shape, it will probably be in the 160s.
