Edgar Berlanga is bitter that his fight with Jonathan Gonzalezem -ortis (20-0-1, 16 KO) will be a factor instead of the main event on Saturday, March 15, at Caribe Royale, Orlando, Florida.

The event will be shown live in Dazn. Instead of being a star, Berlang’s farewell fight with the match is on the undercard Austin Williams vs. Patrice Volny.

Berlanga (22-1, 17 KO) says that he had a headline on March 8 in Puerto Rico, but the promoter Eddie Hearn sent him contracts that he did not like, including one with the fact that he extends to the match.

Berlanga did not want to do this because he believed that there would be a great demand for him as a free agent. He wants “Get a bag.” According to Hearn, Berlanga wanted to easily return after losing to the super medium weight master Canelo Alvarez in September last year. He wanted to be in the main event in the fight for non-headliner.

Berlanga got a huge payment against Canelo, as it was $ 10 million, which shows that Hearn provided him. He probably did not beat anyone at the highest level to get this fight, and was not interested in fighting the former “regular” superpower WBA David Morrell when he was mandatory for his belt.

Saturday card on Dazn

Austin Williams vs. Patrice Volny
Edgar Blangga vs. Jonathan Gonzalez-Ortiz
Jamaine Ortiz vs. Yomar Alamo
Jose Roman Vazquez vs. Jalil Hackett
Pablo Valdez vs. Mauro Maximiliano Godoy
Carlos Jamil with Leon Castro vs. Carl Rogers
Omari Jones vs. Alessio Mastronunzio

Free agency plans

“This free concert tour of the agency will be like Kobe, Lebron, Carmelo Anthony and Michael Jordan,” said Edgar Berlanga to Thaboxingvoice About the demand that he expects for his services after his contract with the match ends on Saturday with Jonathan Gonzalez-Ortr.

It is doubtful that there is a huge demand for Berlang’s services when it hits the market of free agencies, he believes. You never know. If the boxing TKO Turki Alalshikh and Dana White want to sign Berlanga on Substantial Bucks, he would be joyful. However, Berlanga would have to be protected to develop the way he was carefully conducted with Matchroom and the highest rank. Turks and Dana could not put Berlangia with the best and expect that he was doing well. He would probably lose many times. Dana said that the fighters who are with them would lose. So maybe it won’t matter if Berlanga will be beaten over and over again.

“You think I want to sit here [with Matchroom] And fight this kind of fighting. If I were a free agent now, I would fight with a great fight now, Berlanga CONTINUAL. “It would be Munguia, Caleb [Plant] Or [Jermall] Charlo. I strive for the best dogs. “

34 -year -old Jermall Charlo has not fought for two years and is not a type that would sell in a headliner on PPV against Berlang. This would require older people interested in buying the event, that they are doing well because they were too inactive.

“In the main event I was to fight on March 8 in Puerto Rico. Eddie Hearn and his crew sent contracts that we do not like and wanted to make an extension. We didn’t want to make extensions. I wanted to do one and say goodbye to them and do it in Puerto Rico. They didn’t see us with us, “Berlanga said.

Note: the opponent whose Berlanga wanted to fight for the Puerto Rico show Pink gabe (26-17-1, 15 KO), who went 0-4 in its last four fights and has not won from 2021. Of course, it would be a bad farewell fight for the match Hearn and Dazn to show up at the main event at one of your cards. They want to provide value to fans, and Berlanga vs. Rosado would be a pure poison.

SUPERGWIDE status?

“I do not want to fight the event of cooperation, but it is a victim for me so that after that I could become a free agent to be able to make my own moves and do what I want to do. I’m at this level now, where I’m a star now. I am a struggle for a high caliber and sell tickets and I am a compulsory warrior on television.

Berlanga is not a superstar. It is popular in the Up-to-date York part and in Puerto Rico. As for the rest of the USA, he is simply a warrior protected by his promoters, tailored to tomato cans to set him with a fight with Canelo Alvarez. He did it, he shows his gratitude, wanting to leave the match, believing that everything would be better for him.

“There are immense, immense, immense, immense fights for 168 that I want to do. I feel that if I am alone and I can go with a television network, because television networks are those that are bosses, “said Berlanga. “Television networks are those that throw away money, and then promoters send money for fighters.

“So, regardless of the promoter with whom I will decide to promote a great mega fight and any television network that it lies, we earn on a lot of money so that we can both eat and create history. This applies to Jaime Munguia, Caleb Plant, Jermall Charlo. It’s about money movement now. It’s about making a lot of money for me and another person in the ring. “

Whoever signs Berlanga would have to be fine when he was beaten during the fight with a good opposition, but he did not show him talent to be good against any of the best super -medium medium weight. His best wins in his career are Padraig McCrory, Jason Quigley, Steve Rolls, Roamer Alexis Anguilo and Marcelo Concerres.

“You got me. I’m going to be 28 years elderly. You have Munguia, he is 28 years elderly. You have a caleba plant. He is 30 years elderly. Charlo is 30 years elderly. These guys want to create a heritage, history and make a bag. So when they retire, they have a family, children and can eat well – said Berlanga.

Martinez was much more effective and landed the harder punches. Lester had the support of the Guatemalan people with a healthy attendance of 6,848 at the USC Galen Center. The interim WBC super middleweight champion is the only boxing champion of any kind for Guatemala; Martinez is held in high esteem, receiving the full support of his country. After the victory, he celebrated at Lafayette Park at the Festival Chapin with his fellow countrymen.

ProBox promoter Garry Jonas stated at the post-fight press conference they’re exploring the options of holding a Lester Martinez fight at a soccer stadium somewhere in Guatemala, hopefully for January of 2027. The energy and crowd at the Galen Center was electrifying as the crowd would erupt in cheers every time Lester would land a big punch.

Holding an event in Guatemala would definitely draw a crowd. Lester is becoming a bigger star with every fight, and if he’s able to secure a fight with the winner of the Canelo Alvarez-Christian Mbilli fight, he would only become that much bigger. Trainer Esau Dieguez said of the fight, “The truth is we would like to face the winner, but because of name recognition and what it would bring, we would like to fight Canelo. Being that we already fought Mbilli, but I expect Canelo to win. I think Canelo will win, I hope we can make the fight. I know the WBC may beat around the bush, but our hope is Lester will fight for the full world title.”

It was the fight against Mbilli that raised Lester’s profile and introduced him to the world. Although it was ruled a draw, there are many who believe Martinez should have been awarded the decision. Lester stood toe-to-toe with the power puncher, exchanging punch for punch with him. Martinez outlanded Mbilli 412 to 273 in total punches, outlanding him in 9 of 12 rounds (Compubox).

He tried securing the rematch with Christian, but the fight never materialized. Expecting a tough fight against the Canelo-Mbilli winner, Lester said, “I think for now I will relax, but I know what is coming will be more difficult, and we will prepare for it.”

Knowing that he will have to perform at his absolute best against whomever the winner may be. Lester has proven he has the skills to compete at the championship level, and he has the full support of an entire country with him in Guatemala; they want nothing more than to have their first full world champion.

Conor Benns Strategy: Pressure Attack Ahead of Ryan Garcia Showdown

"Conor Benn's Strategy: Pressure Attack Ahead of Ryan Garcia Showdown"

Conor Benn’s team believes sustained aggression can break Ryan Garcia when they meet on September 12 at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. Manager Keith Connolly expects Benn to concede early rounds before wearing down Garcia in the first defense of his WBC welterweight title. He compared the plan to Filip Hrgovic’s victory over Moses Itauma.

“It’s going to be exactly the same. My guy’s going to be in tremendous shape. Ryan Garcia is a great fighter, but my guy’s going to bully him. He’s going to bully him all over the ring. He might lose some rounds like Filip did, but he’s going to wear him out and knock him out,” said Connolly to Pro Boxing Fans.

That comparison gives Benn a simple blueprint, but following it brings considerable danger. Hrgovic covered up against Itauma, survived the early assault, and waited for an inexperienced heavyweight to exhaust himself. Garcia has far more professional experience and does not need to throw every punch with maximum force.

Taking the aggressive role brings its own danger. Benn frequently lunges with his weight loaded over his front foot, leaving his chin exposed as he closes distance. Garcia’s short counter left hook is designed to punish opponents who charge along a straight line. One mistimed entry may stop Benn before he establishes the physical fight his team wants.

Trouble develops once Garcia is trapped against the ropes. He sometimes stands upright, turns away from punches, or relies on the shoulder roll without protecting himself from looping shots. Benn can exploit those habits if he cuts off the ring at an angle and reaches the inside without being clipped.

The proposed knockout also requires Benn to recover power that has disappeared from his recent results. He has gone five consecutive fights without a stoppage since finishing Chris van Heerden in April 2022. Peter Dobson, Chris Eubank Jr., and Regis Prograis all took his best punches without being stopped, although Eubank hit the canvas twice in their rematch.

Maintaining that pace becomes harder after Benn’s drop back to 147 pounds. He has described the cut as brutal after competing at middleweight and a 150-pound catchweight. Any loss of strength, punch resistance, or late-round stamina directly challenges the belief that Benn will be the fresher fighter.

Mistakes can be forced, but Benn must survive Garcia’s fastest weapon long enough to wear him down.

Noel Mikaelian Critiques Opetaias Fear Factor Marketing Strategy

“I think that’s also a big marketing point that you’re mentioning there, that nobody wants to fight him. I see a lot of fighters challenging him and other fighters. I think that’s just marketing to say, ‘Nobody wants to fight this guy.’ This is prizefighting, and everybody wants to fight anyone for the biggest prize,” Mikaelian said to Fight Hub TV.

That choice supports his case. The WBC ordered him to defend against David Benavidez in May, yet he accepted an immediate fight with Opetaia rather than wait for that event to be finalized. His title status remains uncertain, but taking this bout is hardly the behavior of someone intimidated by Opetaia’s reputation.

Calling a boxer “avoided” is one of the sport’s oldest promotional devices. It elevates the favored fighter without requiring victories over every available contender. Television platforms, purses, and promotional control often prevent major fights long before fear becomes relevant.

Facing Opetaia does not make the assignment safe. The 35-year-old identified the Australian’s southpaw stance as his chief concern, along with his speed, footwork, and powerful left hand.

Their lead-foot battle will shape the exchanges. Mikaelian must place his left foot outside Opetaia’s right to move away from the straight left and create a lane for his own right hand. Losing that position would leave him following Opetaia and absorbing combinations during his rapid entries.

Crowding Opetaia, tying him up, and forcing him to restart can reduce that speed. The approach may produce an awkward fight, but allowing him to operate freely at midrange would validate the warnings surrounding this matchup.

The champion considers himself Opetaia’s equal and describes them as the two best cruiserweights. He is treating his opponent as a talented southpaw whose aura has grown larger than his record. September 12 will reveal how much of that aura came from marketing and how much was earned in the ring.
