Former champion of united junior medium scales, Jarrett Hurd, decided to call it a career.

Fighting with Accokeek, Maryland, 34 -year -old Hurd, announced his retirement on Saturday after the divided decision defeat of Johan Gonzalez on the undercard of Gervonta Davis in defense of WBA Lightweight Vitle Against Lamont Roach Jr.

Hurd retires with a 24-4-1 record with 16 knockouts. Known for his crime under high pressure, which provided fans genial to the fighting style, “Swift” began his professional career in 2012 and passed 19-0 before a shot in the title of world champion for the first time. He won the empty Midior Midor title in IBF, when he knocked out Tony Harrison in February 2017. Then he added the WBA title when he defeated Erislanda Lara according to a decision divided in April 2018.

Hurd suffered the first loss of his professional career when he abandoned the titles against Julian Williams by a unanimous decision on the candidate for Fight of the Year on May 11, 2019.

Hurd never really recovered after this loss.

He ended his career on 1-4-1 in 2019–2025, dealing with long attacks of inactivity and unable to capture magic, which made him raise the ranks. He jumped away from the defeat of the decision towards Harrison, winning the decision about the uninhabited Francisco Santanan, then abandoned the decision about Luis Arias, suffering from a stunning knockout from the 10th round against Jose Armando Resndiz and fighting with a divided draw with the former owner of the Jeison Rosario title.

Hurd wanted to return to Gonzalez, but he fought the journeyman on Saturday evening. He was unusually beaten to hit on the way to losing his decision.

“I am a man of my word,” Hurd said after losses. “This will be the last time you see me. I had a great career. “

Charlo’s great plans: Lamanna, Plant, then Canelo next year

Image: Charlo's Big Plans: LaManna, Plant, Then Canelo Next Year

Jermall Charlo says that she wants to fight Canelo Alvarez next year, if everything goes smoothly with his fights, Thomas Lamanna and Caleb Plant. The former world champion with two Charlo divisions (33-0, 22 KO) returns from two-year release on Saturday, May 31, against Lamanna (39-5-1, 18 KO) at Michelob Ultra Arena in Las Vegas.

If everything goes well for Charlo, 35 years elderly, he will fight the plant in the summer, if he wins his melody on Saturday against the Resendiz in Armando in medium weight. Jermall says he wants “Earn a lot of money And lots of wealth ”in this latest return.

Charlo’s Lamanna, Plant Path

“I’m glad that I can put my undefeated album on the line and show the world why I’m one of the great ones,” said Jermall Charlo Fight Hub tv About his return this Saturday against Thomas Lamanna. “I just want the Caleb plant to fight the road. I don’t want to expect a fight with Canelo for too long. He earned so much money.”

Canelo can retire if Terenka Crawford defeats him on September 13 or after the second fight. It will not stay nearby to absorb further failures, which can happen against Terenka. It is unlikely that Charlo arises so far because he would have to defeat Caleb to be considered an opponent of a Mexican star.

“Terenka Crawford is still going to worry. It could be next year,” said Jermall, when asked about his charts. Then I really don’t know. I will fight one of these guys. A guy from Munguua who fought Canelo. I really don’t know these guys. I don’t know what will happen next. “

Fights that will be available to Charlo will depend on the result of his recurring clash with Lamann on Saturday and whether he wins his fight against Caleb Plant. If Jermall wins in these two competitions, he has a good chance of fighting Canelo.

Jermalla’s perspective and goals

“People with whom we can earn a lot of money and a lot of wealth. Just return to the ring and show that I’m the best in the world,” said Charlo. “I’m bigger now. I don’t think my body at this age is ready to fight and break up and come down to 154 and 160. My recent competitive weight is 168. I just fell in their weight class. Now I am part of their weight class.”

Jermall could earn a lot of money in 2023, when Canelo offered him a fight. Instead, he bowed and let his brother Jermell take him and he had not seen him since then. Charlo must take advantage of the situation along with the latest return and take the greatest fights he can when offered. He should fight Caleb Plant if they both win on Saturday.

“I want to be much more vigorous,” said Jermall, asked what he wants to achieve this year. “I’m like a vet now. This win is like a birthday for me.”

It is easier to say than to make Charlo to remain vigorous, because in the last four years he has been twice in the last four years. It is quite clear that it is not really motivated enough to remain vigorous and will probably continue to take long breaks after each fight. It is a pity, because he will be 37 years elderly if he takes another two -year break after Saturday’s fight. Until then it will probably be too delayed to fight Alvarez.

Benavidez SR: Canelo goes to the hospital if we fight

Image: WBC Mandate Stands: Benavidez Insists on Bivol Fight, Lewkowicz Warns of Title Stripping if Undisputed Champion Stubbornly Refuses

David Benavidez’s father, Jose Benavidez Sr., says that Canelo Alvarez will be sent to the “hospital” if he ever fights with the “Mexican monster”. He states that Canelo’s body is “the same” and would not react effectively in the fight against Benavidez.

Jose Sr. says “shade’ Canelo’s fear will follow him for the rest of his life, tormenting him with the memory of avoiding Benavidez. He will be in his mind. You can say that Jose Sr. It means what he says. He is also very bitter that Canelo decides not to fight his son, and he also torments him.

“There is no way to fight David Benavidez. He doesn’t want to fight him,” said Jose Benavidez Sr. Fight Hub tv About Canelo Alvarez is not interested in the fight against the “Mexican monster” by Benavidez. “He is a youthful warrior. Super powerful, getting better and proves that he is the best elite warrior.”

It is already established that Canelo will never fight Benavidez. Jose Sr. He doesn’t even have to mention it, because fans already know that Alvarez doesn’t want anything to do with him. It is too unsafe and too immense. The performance, which Benavidez has, would be the biggest problem of Canelo. It has low output power and does not move well enough so that Benavidez does not reach him.

Canelo’s body: Not the same

“His [Canelo] The body does not react. I think boxing will be bad for David Benavidez fighting Canelo Alvarez. Honestly, He will send him to the hospital. The body is no longer the same. I believe that the fight will never happen – said Jose Sr.

If Canelo fought with Benavidez, he would probably be knocked out if he was under the pressure we saw the “Mexican monster”, under which David Morrella under his last fight. Canelo is not as youthful, huge or as powerful as Morrell to hang there with Benavidez for 12 rounds, just like him.

“He did a lot for boxing, but he is not recognized as a real master, because he did not fight David. This Shadow will always follow him. I think Canelo can fight exhibitions,” said Benavidez Sr. “He doesn’t need lanes. He already recognized. Many people will watch how they are fighting and he can still fight.”

I have the impression that Canelo does not care about what he perceived public opinion. There will be too risky fighters, and he still chooses those that he thinks has a good chance of winning. This means that Benavidez or Dmitry Blivol is not fighting for him. He is ready to fight Terenka Crawford because he is venerable, compact, feeble, overrated and there is a lot of money.

Canelo: Only exhibition fights?

“You can fight youtuber Jake Paul. This can be another great fight. It’s entertainment. So he can still fight exhibitions and continue,” said Jose Sr. About Canelo. “He is a good warrior. At this point, I don’t think he is ready to fight elite fighters. The body does not react.”

Alvarez is still good enough to compete with elite fighters, as long as their names are not David Benavidez, Dmitriry Bivol and Artur Beterbiev. He can defeat elite fighters in 168 and below. The exhibition match between Canelo and Jake Paul is very possible. We saw it in the near future, if there is money.

Thanks to the purse that Alvarez will get the fight of Terenka Crawford, he can be too spoiled to agree to fight Jake or many other fighters. He expects similar money for a smaller fight, and then refuse to fight when he doesn’t get a way.

“He is so trained and had so many challenging fights that the body is worn. It is no longer the same Canelo,” said Benavidez Sr.

Jose Sr. It brings a good right about Canelo. He is not the same warrior at the age of 35 because of his age, demanding training and a long 20-year professional career. He was involved in challenging fighting with Gennadiy Golovkin, Dmitriry Bivol and Miguel Cotto. Even those who were not challenging took a punishment.
