Jack Cattell:

“What a card we got on Saturday evening, three other boys from my fighting gym, great live fights, but during my fight it is a great chance for me on Saturday.

“I think that we both have confidence in the preparations we had, I do not want uncomplicated fights, Arnold was in a position that I was waiting for this opportunity and I do not think that you can sit down now as the box is off the beaten track, you have to risk. I have a good rush, I feel better with every camp, this camp was great, we improved it from the last time and I believe that I am a better warrior and I pull him out on Saturday.

“I was very busy and confidence comes from the time spent in the gym and all challenging work and the time has come to relax, recover and do. I was getting better thanks to the rush and activity and hence confidence.

“I am in a great division weighing 140 pounds with many huge warriors, but nothing matters until after Saturday evening I have to remain focused on Arnold. Considering this, we understand business, there are so many great fights. Teofimo Lopez has the title of WBO, I hope it is a fight you can do, but I have to beat it and beat it well on Saturday.

“This is the last obstacle on Saturday, it’s a great fight, it’s a high risk, high prizes, as he said, I am ready and we bring this belt to Charley and Sunday morning.”

Arnold Barboza JR:

“We had another offer to fight the main event at home, but I just want to fight best. I think Jack is a really good warrior at the top of the division and I think we are the best, I don’t think the masters are better than us, to be straightforward. We are always ready for challenges, we are ready to work.

“I believe that I am the best in the division, I do not think that anyone can fuck me. I am simply confident, at the end of the day we can do everything he says, I know that he is not a garbage speaker and I am not a garbage speaker, Saturday will determine everything and all this.

“I watched many fights in which people went to the territory of the enemy, and they are booed – I hope it is sold out and I hope that I will be booed, it will simply raise me. I am excited and this dream, a great fight against high risk and a high reward, no more of these low risks, low prizes, I am excited that I can get there and dance with him.

“I really believe I keep him. The way in which the camp went, we areolated with a height of 8000 feet, running in the snow, everything we did and the way I felt in sparring, and my sparring can confirm, I feel stronger and better than ever. He comes with everything, I go with everything, so let’s go.

“This fight means everything for me. There are fans in Great Britain, expect a great fight and an stimulating fight and I hope that I will bring some of these fans with me. “

Oscar Collazo stands over Neider Valdez after scoring a knockdown during their flyweight bout in Oceanside, California

Oscar Collazo remained undefeated and won the WBO International flyweight title on Saturday night with a devastating two-round victory over Neider Valdez.

The unified WBA, WBO and Ring Magazine minimumweight champion improved to 15-0 with 12 knockouts after defeating Valdez three times before Mexico’s corner stopped the fight at 2:35 of the second round.

Making his final appearance at 112 pounds, Collazo showed his strength immediately transferred to the upper division, defeating Valdez from the opening bell at Frontwave Arena in Oceanside, California.

The Puerto Rican striker repeatedly found a home for his left hand and left no doubt about the outcome before the fight was called off.

“I felt great at 112 pounds. I love this division. In fact, I want to stay here for a long time,” Collazo said.

Knockdowns

Collazo admitted that he had already called for the fight to be stopped.

“After the third knockdown I was basically saying, ‘Never again, never again’. It was the right decision for his safety. His corner was well checked.

Cris Esqueda | Golden Boy

The victory added another belt to Collazo’s collection and enhanced his growing reputation as one of boxing’s most invigorating champions in the lower weight division.

Looking ahead, Collazo has made it clear who he wants next.

“The fight with Ricardo Sandoval definitely interests me. I really want that fight. I’m ready for gigantic fights. I’m ready to make history. That’s the fight I want next.”

Sandoval currently holds the WBA flyweight title, making this one of the most attractive fights available if Collazo continues his climb in weight.

The event was broadcast live on DAZN and was promoted by Golden Boy Promotions in partnership with Miguel Cotto Promotions.
