Regis Prograis is set to hand Conor Benn a second defeat at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on April 11.

Next month, Benn will fight in a 63,000-capacity venue for the third consecutive year. He first suffered a close defeat there against Chris Eubank Jr in April 2024, but seven months later he returned to convincingly defeat his rival in a rematch.

Both fights were held at the middleweight limit of 160 pounds, but Benn insisted that he would fight for world titles at welterweight – 147. On his way back to retirement, he will meet two-time super lightweight world champion Prograis at the 150-pound catchweight division.

I’m talking to Fighting Hub TVPrograis said he took the fight despite the weight disadvantage because he simply “knows” he is better than the Briton.

“I just feel like I’m better. That’s all. I know I’m better than Conor Benn. Look, if he didn’t have the name from his dad, who’s a legend, he wouldn’t be where he is now. I didn’t have a daddy who boxed. I was a world champion, already at the top twice, fighting in the mud. He had a lot of strength. I know I’m better skill-wise, and don’t be surprised if I’m stronger than him.”

When asked specifically about the fact that Benn – who is reportedly paid close to $15 million for the fight – goes down and goes up, Prograis believes he can match or even surpass the bigger fighter when it comes to raw power.

“Let him come in with that loaded sh*t. I have the power and like I said, don’t be surprised if I get stronger. Conor Benn fought on my undercard in 2019 when I fought Josh Taylor. I watch his videos. I know he likes to be with weights and shit like that. They think the weight carries over to the ring and maybe it does, but I know I have the power. Let’s see if he can hit the same shots with me… My coaches have gained confidence, I have confidence, I know it will be a really good evening.

“If he wants to come and leave it alone, we can do that. I’m okay with that too. Then we’ll have to see who’s more of a dog. And I’m not backing down.”

The fight headlines Tyson Fury’s heavyweight return against Arslanbek Makhmudov and will be streamed live on Netflix.

Following his unanimous decision victory over Jazza Dickens last Saturday, Cacace pointed to a string of victories over well-known British fighters as proof that he has already done everything asked of him at the national level.

“I’ve been beating Brits for three years now,” Cacace told Boxing News after the fight.

The Belfast fighter mentioned several names he faced during the episode, including former world champions Joe Cordina, Josh Warrington and Leigh Wood, as well as Dickens.

Cacace said the series of fights should put him in a solid position for bigger fights against the top fighters at 130 pounds.

“How many more do I have to beat before I get that chance?” Cacace said.

The 36-year-old’s latest victory added another title to his record and continued a career resurgence that came against experienced opponents rather than prospects or rebuilding players.

This run has now turned attention towards potential unification fights.

Cacace mentioned IBF and WBO champion Emanuel Navarrete as one of the opponents he would like to face next.

Navarrete holds two belts in the division and remains one of the most established champions in the weight class, making a fight between the two a natural step if it can be arranged. This would be the perfect fight for Cacace to prove he can take on a guy who is viewed by many fans as the No. 1 pick at 130 pounds.

For Cacace, the argument is straightforward. After years of fighting huge names in British boxing, he believes the next stage of his career will be fighting fighters who currently hold other titles in the division.

Time will tell if these opportunities materialize, but Cacace has made it clear that he believes his recent streak has already earned him a shot at the biggest fights available.

Devin Haney remains interested in a rematch with Ryan Garcia, hoping to put an end to their heated and controversial rivalry.

The pair first met in April 2024 in a fight that was for Haney’s WBC super lightweight world title. When Garcia failed to make weight, weighing just over 143 pounds, the fight continued, but the WBC title was no longer on the line for him.

His performance that night was considered the best of his career, dropping Haney three times to upset the odds with a majority decision in the twelfth. However, a failed doping test resulted in the controversial young star being banned for a year and the result invalidated.

Now that both men are at welterweight, a rematch seems inevitable. Add to that the fact that it would be a unification of championships – Haney won the WBO belt from Brian Norman Jr overdue last year, and Garcia recently defeated Mario Barrios for the WBC title – and it becomes one of the biggest fights in boxing.

The champions have been trading blows on social media recently, and Haney said today he would sign a contract and set a fight date if Garcia agreed to undergo testing by the Voluntary Anti-Doping Agency.

Haney is demanding that Garcia – who was tested for the Barrios fight – join the 365-day random testing pool, which he has accused his rival of opting out of in the past. However, as the fresh WBC champion, Garcia should be enrolled in the sanctioning body’s Neat Boxing program, under which championship titles are subjected to year-long VADA testing as standard.

As tensions continue, Haney is reportedly very close to announcing a fight with fellow welterweight world champion Rolando “Rolly” Romero.

In an ideal world, Garcia would target IBF champion Lewis Crocker, meaning that if both men come through, their rivalry would be decided with an undisputed tag. Crocker, however, has a mandatory challenger in Liam Paro.
