“No large fight” – Caroline Dubois encourages Terri Harper to fight for a unification fight

Caroline Dubois pleaded with Terri Harper not to “ask for stupid things” and agree to a lightweight unification fight in the first quarter of 2026.

Dubois wants to become the undisputed lightweight champion this year and has called for another fight with fellow champion Harper ahead of a potential superfight with Alycia Baumgardner.

The 24-year-old made her debut on Jake Paul’s Most Valuable Promotions last month, scoring comprehensive points over Camilla Panatta on the Paul-Anthony Joshua card in Miami.

Dubois, the WBC champion, has now set her sights on becoming the undisputed 135-pounder, with the long-awaited fight against Harper being her preferred option.

“The next fight we’re going to pursue is the Terri Harper fight. As we speak, they’re obviously working on a date. They’re nailing down a location,” Dubois told ESPN.

“So the plan is to try to go undisputed this year and I think that’s very possible.”

WBO champion Harper has also signed a contract with MVP and Dubois believes that is the fight that makes the most sense.

“I think there is no other fight for her, I think she will try to get as much money out of the sport as she can.

“I don’t know what her plans are, but I think she knows her limits. She knows who she is and what she is not. She also knows that there is no bigger fight for her than Caroline Dubois.”

“She’s going to want this fight to get the most for me. I just hope she doesn’t try to price herself out or make it complex by asking for stupid things.”

Dubois believes winning all four belts, along with Elif Nur Turhan and Stephanie Han, the other lightweight champions, will be possible within the next 12 months.

Before her clash with Panatta last month, Dubois exchanged words with unified junior lightweight champion Alycia Baumgardner, who called the Briton a “puppy” who needs more experience.

Dubois said the Baumgardner fight would ultimately be the biggest in women’s boxing.

“I felt like she was a little intimidated by me, that’s what I took away,” Dubois said.

“I felt like there was some resistance to being as clamorous and abrasive as I usually am. She loves giving it to people and getting on their backs, but when people turn and come up to her, there seems to be a little bit of resistance. The blinders go up.”
