Resorts World in Birmingham will host another Magnificent Seven event on Saturday night under Frank Warren as Nathan Heaney and Brad Pauls face off in a rematch for Heaney’s British middleweight title.

The two met at the same venue in March. Although Heaney (18-0-1, 6 KO) was the favorite, Pauls (18-1-1, 10 KO) pulled him into the deep end, and the judges were undecided and the draw was ambiguous.

The defending champion is ranked high in the WBA and WBO rankings, ranking fifth in both organisations, so he cannot afford any slip-ups.

The 35-year-old Stoke fighter has two wins over Jack Flatley, which saw him win the Lonsdale belt against Denzel Bentley last November, before defeating the Londoner by a majority decision to secure the title in Manchester.

Paul’s one loss looks better with each fight he has had. In February last year he lost to Tyler Denny in an English title fight, and in September he won the vacant belt by defeating Mitchell Frearson in his eighth fight.

Cameron is back

In the pre-fight bout, Chantelle Cameron will make her Queensberry debut when she faces Frenchman Elhem Mekhaled for the interim WBC super lightweight title.

Cameron (18-1, 8 KOs) won the undisputed full set of belts in November 2022 with a unanimous decision over Jessica McCaskill in Abu Dhabi, then shocked Katie Taylor in Dublin last May to defend her title.

However, the Northampton-born player was unable to feature in the return match in November, losing on a majority decision.

The 33-year-old responded by parting ways with trainer Jamie Moore and moving to Grant Smith, while he also left Eddie Hearn’s Matchroom Boxing to join forces with Frank Warren.

Mekhaled (17-2, 3 KOs) fought for a world title in February of last year, but was knocked down twice and soundly defeated by Alycia Baumgardner in a fight for the undisputed super featherweight title.

Lane puts British and Commonwealth titles on the line

Ashley Lane, who has just stopped Chris Bourke in the sixth round, will defend his British and Commonwealth bantamweight titles for the first time when he fights Andrew Cain.

Cain (11-1, 10 KOs) lost a split decision to Ionut Baluta last March, but he is very forceful.

Cooper clashes with Essuman

The welterweight division will see a thrilling ten-round fight as Ekow Essuman looks set to bounce back from losing his British and Commonwealth titles to Harry Scarff in his last fight to take over the WBO British and European titles from Owen Cooper (10-0, 4 KOs).

(19-1, 7 KOs)

Dacres Meets Webster

Sol Dacres was supposed to face David Adeleye in a fight that looked promising, but Adeleye had to withdraw due to injury. Michael Webster (10-1, 6 KOs) stepped in to take over, and will face off in a rematch in November 2023.

(8-0, 2 KOs)

Parker to face Arnfield

Zach Parker (24-1, 17 KOs) can continue to rebuild his form following his 2022 loss to John Ryder, while the super middleweight contender can win his 10-round clash with Jack Arnfield (26-3, 6 KOs) on points.

Remaining subcard

Ezra Taylor (8-0, 6 KOs) is poised to capture his first professional title, the WBC lightweight heavyweight title, with an early victory over Spaniard Carlos Alberto Lamela (8-3, 5 KOs).

Another opponent whose fight didn’t happen is Shabaz Masoud (12-0, 4 KOs), as his fight with Liam Davies was postponed. However, he can take his frustration out on Marvin Solano (24-17, 8 KOs), whose eight-round featherweight fight was clearly won on points.

In a four-round super flyweight fight, Bradley Thompson (4-0, 2 KOs) should defeat Stephen Jackson (1-51-1, 1 KO).

Mike Tyson worries over Butterbean over troubling claims ahead of Jake Paul fight

Published

on

Butterbean has cast doubt on Mike Tyson’s ability to face Jake Paul in their high-profile fight next month. Real name Eric Esch, the 58-year-old former boxer – who boasts an impressive record of his own – hasn’t held back in criticizing Iron Mike’s upcoming meeting with the so-called “Problem Child,” scheduled for November 15 at the AT&T Arena in Arlington, Texas .

He previously described the event as a “scam,” bluntly stating that the duo “will never fight.” Last weekend, Esch, who has an impressive 77-10-4 knockout record, expressed fresh concerns about Tyson’s readiness, claiming to AL.com: “I saw Mike about three weeks ago and he looked pregnant.

Not stopping there, he boldly added, “I would have knocked him out. He has no chin. The problem with those who lost to Tyson is that they didn’t challenge him.” Paul and Tyson were originally scheduled to fight on July 20, but Tyson had to withdraw due to health problems.

As a result, YouTube sensation-turned-boxer Paul faced Mike Perry, a UFC fighter who had recently made the switch to bare-knuckle boxing, it was reported. Mirror. Following a sixth-round stoppage victory over Platinum Perry, Paul increased his score to an impressive 10-1.

Quickly shifting gears, he returned his gaze to Tyson, once called the world’s most perilous boxer. A look back at Tyson’s career from 1985 to 2005 shows an outstanding professional record of 50-6-2 (NC) with 44 knockouts, solidifying his legacy among boxing’s greatest fighters.

Tyson won the WBC heavyweight title the year after his professional debut, defeating Trevor Berbick, and added the WBA strap to his collection the following year with a unanimous decision victory over James Smith. That same year, Tyson secured the IBF title with a points triumph over Tony Tucker.

Throughout his illustrious career, Tyson defeated notable opponents such as Frank Bruno, Michael Spinks, Carl Williams and Bruce Seldon. However, following his prime, Zelazny has not competed in a professional boxing match since his loss to Kevin McBride in 2005 – only returning for an exhibition match against Roy Jones Jr in 2020, which ended in a draw after eight rounds.

Paul, on the other hand, has made quite a name for himself in the professional boxing world since his debut four years ago against fellow YouTuber AnEsonGib. Logan Paul’s younger brother, 27, has faced and defeated such tough competition as UFC stars Ben Askren, Nate Diaz, Tyron Woodley and Anderson Silva. His only defeat was in February last year by Tommy Fury.

Butterbean has been extremely open about his desire to fight Paul in recent years, after losing a lot of weight in hopes of finally getting into the ring. He first challenged Paul in March 2022 before repeating his offer a few months later, stating that the teenage boxer “talks too much.”

In July 2024, Esch tempted Paul with a mouthwatering £1.5 million winner-takes-all deal, and in August he pressed the boxer: “Are we going to do this or what?” He even hinted at a potential fight with Tyson, admitting to Chris Van Vliet: “I’m not talking nonsense, I like Mike Tyson. But actually it’s tiny, it’s not gigantic.

“He is powerful, there is no doubt in my mind! The reason me and Tyson would have a good fight, Tyson wouldn’t be afraid. He came straight to me and we would go to the middle of the ring and beat s Let’s fuck each other. This fight would be hell to watch.

Eddie Hearn commented on speculations about whether Anthony Joshua will stay with coach Ben Davison.

Hearn and Davison could only watch as Joshua behaved eventually stopped by Daniel Dubois at Wembley Stadium last month, he failed to become a three-time world heavyweight champion.

Harlow’s coach faced criticism after the fight, particularly for the “AJ” order given immediately before Dubois stopped him in the fifth set.

The Watford superstar is no stranger to hiring and firing coaches – Davison is his fourth in the last three years.

However, in a recent interview with Fight Hub Television, Matchroom boss Hearn said he didn’t think Joshua would be looking to move up to fifth anytime soon.

“He is satisfied with his training camp. It was in great condition; he sparred really well.

“In my opinion, there will be no changes.”

Davison was repeatedly praised for his partnership with Joshua before the disastrous showdown with Dubois, with many observers saying the 34-year-old looked as good as ever in the two fights preceding Otto Wallin and Francis Ngannou.

However, these shows turned out to be of little value against “DDD”, who attacked his older compatriot and dominated practically the entire fight.

Against the advice of many prominent figures in the boxing world, it is increasingly likely that Joshua will go straight into another fight with the heavy-handed 26-year-old, with a second fight reportedly being the preferred option of Saudi financier Turki. Alalshch.

However, it should not be surprising that Joshua wants to settle the score immediately – he immediately drew with the only two players who beat him, Andy Ruiz Jr and Oleksandr Usyk.

That said, another loss to Dubois at this stage would certainly spell the end of the career of British boxing’s greatest ever star.

Jake Paul said he had a huge problem weeks before his fight with Mike Tyson

Published

on

Boxing enthusiasts are raising eyebrows at Jake Paul’s readiness as the 27-year-old prepares to face Mike Tyson.

The YouTuber-turned-boxer will face former world heavyweight champion Tyson, who, at 58, is more than twice Paul’s age. Initially scheduled for July, the match was postponed due to health concerns about Tyson.

The rescheduled clash was scheduled for November at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas. Paul enters the ring with a 10-1 record after triumphing over Mike Perry earlier this year.

Recent Instagram footage shows Paul in the heat of training camp, but some fans remain skeptical after seeing clips of the Ohio native.

“He doesn’t look fit at all,” one viewer commented on the video. Some, however, defend Paul’s performance, noting that he is expected because he has bulked up to challenge Tyson.

Support for Tyson persists despite an age difference of more than three decades. “You might be fooling those little kids who didn’t grow up watching Tyson… Mike will knock you back to being a Disney Channel moron,” one fan noted.

“Real talk! He doesn’t understand who he’s dealing with,” we read in another comment. “Power has no age limits. It stays in muscle memory.”

What are your thoughts on Jake Paul’s chances against Mike Tyson?

For Tyson, this is his first meeting in the ring since the exhibition fight with Roy Jones Jr in 2020. This is a significant moment, marking his return since he last faced Kevin McBride professionally over 18 years ago in 2005.

His return was put on hold due to a flare-up of an ulcer, which led to a delay as advisers insisted on a postponement after consulting medical experts. This warning measure, adopted in May, underlined the paramount importance attached to the well-being of the athletes involved.

A stern warning to Paul for his upcoming fight comes from none other than boxing great “Sugar” Shane Mosley. In an interview with the Philadelphia Inquirer, the 53-year-old emphasized: “If Mike really hits Jake, Mike can really hurt Jake, and I know what Mike can do and what Jake can do,” which increases the risk of the game .

Expressing doubts about Paul’s knowledge of Tyson’s power, Mosley noted: “I don’t think Jake really understands how difficult Mike can punch. Mike is 58 years ancient, but these are two-minute rounds and all the fighters are proud. I don’t think Mike will go there to lose to Jake Paul. Jake thinks he can take the shot.

Delving into the dynamics of the match, he detailed: “In the first five or six rounds and what makes it so humorous is that Mike Tyson’s punch is perilous, very perilous. Jake will have to tire him out. “Jake will do it, I have to understand how these blows will be dealt to him.”

Finally, Mosley offered insight into the sheer intensity of professional fighting compared to casual brawls, declaring, “People need to understand that a bar fight between two guys is one thing, and a professional fighter, especially a former world champion, regardless of age, is still very a perilous man who can seriously hurt you. I don’t know how long they will be able to hurt you [laughs]but these are blows from people who have been blowing all their lives.”
