Mike Tyson’s rival “reached out to discuss the fight” with news of a rematch
Published
6 hours agoon
Boxing legend Mike Tyson may be gearing up for a thrilling rematch with Evander Holyfield as he prepares to return to the ring. Tyson, 58, is scheduled to face YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul in his first professional fight since 2005.
The controversial game is scheduled for November 15 and will be broadcast live on Netflix, with an expected crowd of up to 90,000 at AT&T Stadium. Paul, 27, posted a 10-1 boxing record against various influencers and MMA stars, while Tyson donned the gloves for the last time in an exhibition match against Roy Jones Jr. However, the veteran’s decision to return to the ring led Holyfield to consider a return.
The two boxing giants were embroiled in a notorious heavyweight feud that came to a head when Tyson infamously bit off part of Holyfield’s ear during their 1997 WBA title rematch. A third fight never materialized, but “The Real Deal” seems eager to follow in Tyson’s footsteps, potentially setting the stage for one of the most unexpected rematches in sports.
Misfits boxing co-president Mams Taylor revealed in the article: talkSPORT interview in which Holyfield considered the possibility of facing KSI (4-1). The YouTube star has been at the forefront of boxing influencers for years, known for his clashes with Logan Paul and Tommy Fury, but his promotion on Misfits ruled out a fight with the 62-year-old.
“I know Holyfield contacted us about fighting KSI,” Taylor said. “We wouldn’t do it again. It would have to be two equal players of the same age. If it were Mike Tyson or Evander Holyfield for all the money in the world, we wouldn’t do it. I think that’s ironic. because the cornerstone of Misfits Boxing stands on higher moral ground than some parts of established boxing.”
The rivalry between Holyfield and Tyson remains one of the most notable stories in sports, with Holyfield scoring an 11th-round TKO victory over Tyson in 1996. Their subsequent fight became infamous as the “Bite Fight” when Tyson was disqualified in the third round for biting off part of Holyfield’s ear.
Tyson did not rule out the possibility of returning to the ring after the fight with Paul and was even interested in meeting Holyfield again in 2020. When Holyfield was asked a similar question last year, the former undisputed cruiserweight and heavyweight champion was also prepared to face Tyson for a third time.
“Well, if everything goes well. “I mean, it’s not just about me, it’s about both of us,” Holyfield told The Sun. “We’re doing this, we’re making some money that we probably wouldn’t be able to make, so the most vital thing is to find something that we can both do so that we understand that it’s not a struggle. It’s showing some skills, showing skills, but it’s not a real fight. We don’t want to kill each other.
Since Tyson agreed to fight Paul, he has had no shortage of offers to continue his comeback path. Heavyweight legend Butterbean has expressed his desire to face ‘Iron Mike’, while former undisputed champion Lennox Lewis is ready for a rematch with Tyson, provided he wins against Paul next month.

Tyson Fury insisted on making key changes for his rematch with Usyk

October 21, 2024With less than two months until Tyson Fury’s rematch with Oleksandr Usyk, emotions surrounding the gigantic heavyweight fight are starting to grow.
Fury suffered the only defeat of his professional career against Usyk in May, suffering a solemn injury and going down in a split decision.
While "The Gypsy King" he maintains that he should have raised his hand earlier this year, the consensus in the boxing world was that he would need to significantly up his game if he wanted to get his revenge on the imperious Ukrainian.
Former world champion turned coach Anthony Crolla has put in his two cents and believes his fellow Brit should focus more on his physique on December 21
I’m talking to Freebets.comthe article “The Million Dollar Fall” stated:
“He looks really good, he talks really good, he seems very confident.
“You never know with Tyson, he comes out with crazy things, but he really looks great. I’m really looking forward to it.
“Another tough one, but last time he more or less won the fight by mid-distance.
“I think he will target Usyk’s body more this time. He has a great chance to fix this, but Usyk will find a way to win, his adaptability is unbelievable.
“After the first fight, I would put Usyk as the favorite, but I wouldn’t be surprised if Tyson avenged him.”
🗣 “You should have finished when you had the chance.”
🗣 “You’re really cold, friend”🍿 This trash talk in between @Tyson_Fury & @usykaa although 😅#Box #UsykFury2 #TysonFury #OleksandrUsyk pic.twitter.com/8hSU2vsl5u

“There are some adjustments to be made, he (Tyson) got caught last time, but I don’t know how much it affects Tyson because he has that kind of character. I think he thinks for himself a lot.
“The horn definitely needs some work. I am in favor of one voice in the corner, one clear voice, so we will see, but it will be the changes he makes.”
Fury himself has admitted that he plans to take matters out of the judges’ hands and stop Usyk in nine weeks, and many experts believe he could go into the fight much heavier than the first time around.

Mike Tyson’s next opponent after Jake Paul becomes clear thanks to a five-word message

October 21, 2024Lennox Lewis has hinted at a potential future fight with Mike Tyson if the experienced boxer is able to claim victory in his fight against Jake Paul.
Tyson, 58, will face his compatriot Paul, who is 31 years younger, at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, on November 15. Despite the huge age difference, the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation approved the event as a professional fight.
The fight was pushed back from its original date of July 20, 2024, after the former undisputed heavyweight champion developed an ulcer problem while traveling by plane.
Lewis, who hasn’t fought since 2003, revealed he would consider returning to the ring and fighting “Iron Mike” if he can get through it without any problems.
Asked by TMZ Sports if he were considering fighting Tyson again, Lewis replied: “Come on, baby! Let’s do it!
It would be an extraordinary fight considering it has been 22 years since they last faced each other on the canvas. Both boxers were in great shape when they met in Memphis, Tennessee and earned a whopping £13.4 million ($17.5 million) for their participation alone.
The occasion attracted the attention of stars from all over the world, including Michael Jordan and Donald Trump, which caused a storm of emotions. at a press conference. But Lewis had the last laugh, delivering a powerful eight-round KO to defeat his opponent.
That provides some insight into why Lewis, also 58, would welcome another try, although Tyson has participated in a series of exhibition fights since retiring from the professional game in 2005.
However, the London-born boxer, who has 41 wins and just two losses, including 32 KOs, has not fought anyone since his victory over Vitali Klitschko in Los Angeles in 2013.
Tyson’s level of fitness and commitment has surprised some, and the former boxing champion has certainly shown off his brutal training regime on social media.
This provided a positive outlook on his chances of beating Paul, who has a 10-1 record in professional boxing, with Lewis supporting his former rival to resist any pressure from Paul.
“If he’s in good shape, he should be able to do it,” he added.
Lewis revealed he still exercises regularly, running five miles and swimming, and will be tempted to return to the ring if financial conditions are acceptable.
“For me it’s money talk, the march of the bulls,” he told The Guardian in May 2024. “That’s what I’m saying. I would 100 percent consider it.”

Bakhram Murtazaliev vs Tim Tszyu – results and post-fight report

October 20, 2024Bakhram Murtazaliev defended his IBF super welterweight title in some style at Caribe Royale in Orlando, defeating former world champion Tim Tszyu, earning a third-round stoppage victory in his first defense.
Murtazaliev (23-0, KO17) won the vacant title in Germany in April, some 16 months after his last fight against Jack Culcay, earning a knockout victory in the penultimate round, while Tszyu (24-2, KO17) previously served as WBO champion , but lost that belt in an attempt to add the WBC crown in March against Sebastian Fundora, losing by split decision.
In this round, Tszyu was penalized for being vulnerable to counterattacks, and in the second round, Murtazaliev did a perfect job of timing Tszyu’s attacks to get a challenging counter left hook knockdown. With the Australian on unsteady legs on the restart, he came again from another left hand from the champion, and as Tszyu tried to fight fire with fire after beating the count again, Murtazaliev rocked him with a shaky left hand and accumulating punches knocked Tszyu to the deck for a third time. A minute break between rounds didn’t support as Tszyu made the same mistakes again in round three, and when he went on the attack with Murtazaliev on the ropes, the Russian again unleashed a counter left hook that left Tszyu dropped badly.

He defeated the count again, but this time there was no respite as he sluggishly tried to defend himself under bulky fire until finally Tszyu’s horn had seen enough and threw in the towel.

In an absolute undercard war, there was no separating undefeated Australian middleweights Cesar Mateo Tapia (17-0-1, KO10) and Endry Saavedra (16-1-1, KO13), who fought to a dramatic majority draw for the vacant IBF title International. Tapia was down twice in the third round and once in the ninth round, but scored a knockdown of his own in the fifth round, with one judge declaring him the winner 94-92, but two scores at 93-93 ensured a stalemate.
