Jake Paul vs. Mike Tyson “isn’t real boxing” and the British pro is fighting a “ridiculous” fight

Published

on

This was never intended to be seen as a clash of purists, and if Josh Taylor’s views are to be believed, the controversial Jake Paul-Mike Tyson fight has no appeal to professional boxers either. On July 20, the YouTuber will face the former world heavyweight champion, who, at the age of 57, has no longer been associated with the mantra of “the worst man in the world”.

In fact, with the exception of his exhibition appearance against Roy Jones Jnr in November 2020, this will be Tyson’s first professional fight since his disastrous defeat to Irish journeyman Kevin McBride 19 years ago. The very term “professional” irritates many, considering the fight was initially scheduled to be non-competitive before Texas boxing authorities intervened.

Taylor, of course, has his own concerns – the long-awaited rematch with Jack Catterall on May 25 in Leeds. On the one hand, his understandable focus on his own training camp means he can’t be expected to waste time worrying about Paul and Tyson. Then again, if he wasn’t at camp, it seems like he wouldn’t care anyway.

“I don’t really pay attention to it because I’m not interested in Jake Paul at all,” he exclusively said. “He’s just a showman and he deserves credit, he’s making a fortune and doing well.

He actually picked up boxing skills and worked strenuous, but I just don’t take these fights too seriously because it’s not real boxing. This is a 57-year-old man fighting a guy in his prime.”

The man nicknamed “Problem Child” actually boasts a professional record of 9-1, albeit mostly stemming from fights against other social media stars and former UFC fighters. However, considering that he is 27 years elderly and less than half Tyson’s age, Taylor will not take the result into account.

“Why is this even happening?” He asked. “Fighting an elderly man and making it a professional fight? Why? So you can say you beat Mike Tyson. I think it’s humorous, but at the end of the day it’s entertainment and people will come and watch it the way they want to watch Mike Tyson.

However, there is one high-profile fight that Taylor won’t ignore, even though it was scheduled just seven days before his pivotal night. Tyson Fury and Oleksandr Usyk will fight on May 18 in Saudi Arabia in a fight to unify the heavyweight division, which Taylor himself may associate with the previous undisputed world champion in the super lightweight weight.

However, he won’t disrupt his pre-fight routine to watch it live. “And Arabia is, what, two hours ahead? So if it’s around 10 p.m., I’ll stay up and watch it, but after that, I’ll turn off my phone and social media and watch it when I get up.

“It’s a great fight and I changed my mind about it three or four times. “I’ve always been in favor of a good huge beating a good little guy, but Tyson has fought smaller opponents in his career, so it’s going to be an engaging fight.”

The Josh Taylor vs. Jack Catterall fight, promoted by Matchroom and Top Rank Boxing, can be watched on ESPN+ in the US and DAZN worldwide.

Jake Paul decided to change sports immediately after Mike Tyson’s boxing fight

Published

on

Jake Paul is ready to discuss a potential MMA debut following his highly anticipated boxing fight with Mike Tyson.

Internet sensation Paul is preparing to fight boxing titan Tyson next month in Texas in an event that has been met with significant delays and much controversy. With a 10-1 record in the ring, Paul suffered just one defeat last year at the hands of Tommy Fury, and yet when they meet on November 15, he will boast a significant 30-year age difference to Tyson.

However, Paul does not limit his horizons in combat sports to the ring, because he dreams of fame in the MMA octagon. Having signed a contract with leading MMA organization PFL in 2022, Paul has ambitions to make his mark in the world of MMA perhaps next year, taking a break from his pursuit of a world boxing title.

I’m talking to Mirror on Francis Ngannou’s return to Renan Ferreira, PFL CEO Peter Murray shared his thoughts on Paul’s future in MMA: “I’m not sure if this will be his next fight in combat sports, but he will make his debut in 2025,” the boss said.

“Look what Jake has proven in boxing; he is an amazing athlete, a professional boxer, he has faced several legal opponents and blazed his own trail. He’ll do it the same way in MMA; “His main goal is to be a supporter of athletes and blaze up-to-date trails, so he will definitely take up the MMA fight and be as focused and dedicated as he is to boxing.”

Paul has consistently expressed his determination to settle the score with Fury, who secured victory over the YouTuber in Saudi Arabia. Now there is speculation that their rematch could move from the ring to the octagon following Fury’s recent training sessions with UFC heavyweight Tom Aspinall.

Murray sparked excitement for the potential clash, commenting: “I believe [they could fight in PFL]; We’ll see, the list is there and growing, that’s what’s stimulating about it. There are a lot of fighters who would like to take part in this debut, so we will talk to Jake after the Tyson fight.”

Further fueling the MMA rumors, Nate Diaz, a UFC pioneer who fell to Paul in a previous boxing fight, has been mentioned as a potential opponent in Paul’s mixed martial arts venture. Although he appears to have turned down a massive £7.7m offer amid talks to return to his ancient stomping ground.

Additionally, there is talk of Paul returning to the ring for a third confrontation with Tyron Woodley, whom he has already defeated twice, although he continues his war of words with Jorge Masvidal, another top-class fighter who is currently on a break from the UFC.

However, before any of these scenarios come to fruition, Paul will face Tyson, who has not taken part in a professional fight since he bowed to Kevin McBride in 2005. Nevertheless, Tyson laced up the gloves again for an exhibition match against Roy Jones Jr. in 2020, which ended in a disastrous stalemate after eight rounds.

Jake Paul said he would be ‘swallowed alive’ by another boxer before the Mike Tyson fight

Published

on

Former cruiserweight world champion Tony Bellew has issued a stern warning to YouTube star-turned-boxer Jake Paul, saying he would be “eaten alive” in the boxing ring.

“The Problem Child” Jake Paul is preparing for an extremely invigorating meeting with Mike Tyson, whose fight will take place on November 15 at the AT&T Arena in Arlington, Texas in front of an audience of 90,000. Paul’s rise from internet sensation to professional boxer has seen him face the likes of Tyron Woodley, Anderson Silva and Nate Diaz.

His only mistake, which boasts a 10-1 record, came at the hands of Tommy Fury last year in a points decision.

The fight between the internet phenomenon and the heavyweight legend was originally scheduled for July, but was postponed when Tyson stopped training due to a recurrence of his peptic ulcer. However, “Iron Mike” has renewed his fitness efforts and is adamant about getting back to the square footage soon.

Confirmation of the fight was met with criticism amid concerns for Tyson’s well-being after the former world heavyweight champion, 58, revealed he had trouble walking after sparring. Doubts persist as to whether Tyson will be forceful enough for the fight, prompting speculation that the fight could be canceled again.

Despite Tyson’s skepticism and experience over the years, Paul remains confident that Tyson is in good shape, stating that preparations for the boxing titan’s fight are going well. It’s Mike Tyson or nothing,” Paul declared, emphasizing the draw for the main event. “But most of all, he’s well, he feels amazing and he’s doing great in camp.”

Bellew has once again expressed his disdain for Paul’s boxing endeavors, suggesting that the YouTuber is avoiding real challenges in the ring. In candid remarks to Safest Casino Sites, he stated: “Listen, everyone has their price, but he [Jake Paul] he would never fight me, I would eat him alive.

“Just face a real boxer. I’ll tell you what, just come to England, get your license and try to get an English title. If you manage to get an English or British title, I’ll take my hat off to you. Or go and do it in the USA, do it where you are from.

“Win the United States cruiserweight title. As soon as he faces anyone with any reasonable boxing experience, he’s got it. They’re taking him to school.”

The former British boxing champion is clearly unimpressed with Paul’s upcoming fight against Tyson, a clear indication of his willingness to replace Tyson if the opportunity arises, albeit for the right amount of money.

Bellew stated in September: “I have no real hunger or desire to face Jake Paul, to be completely candid. Do I want to? No, probably not. But would I do it? Yes. Everyone has their price. yes, definitely, but do I want to? Not really, no.

Carl Froch admits he is concerned about Ben Whittaker’s fine career after Saturday’s draw with Liam Cameron.

Both Whittaker and Cameron fell out of the ring, and the fight was called off in the fifth round, with “The Surgeon” leaving the arena in a wheelchair.

Many were quick to judge that the 2020 Olympic silver medalist had quit, even though his promoter Ben Shalom said he suffered ankle and neck injuries.

“Following the unprecedented match-ending incident on Saturday evening, Ben Whittaker is undergoing further neck examinations as a previous injury aggravated following a fall,” Shalom said. Heavenly sports.

“He also suffered a sprained ankle and will begin the rehabilitation process as soon as he is cleared by doctors and is determined to return to the ring as soon as possible.”

Former super middleweight world champion Froch insists Whittaker’s performance is cause for concern.

“I think the fight could have continued,” the 47-year-old said Froch About the fight.

“Some say Ben Whittaker actually left and it would make sense because he was under pressure.

“I think Cameron is really pissed off and Ben Whittaker is probably content that the fight is over.

“No matter how you look at it, Ben Whittaker has disappointed a bit, so you have to worry about how large of a prospect he will be at world level.

I hope he comes back well and robust and shows us all that he is a beginning.

“I love watching him fight. I love his razzmatazz. I love his energy, nonchalance in the ring and self-confidence.

“But he looked a little under-muscled last night and the way he came out in the wheelchair, I just think for me it was a little bit of looking for a way out.

“I’m not saying he gave up, but it was definitely a little iffy the way that fight ended.”
