Jake Paul bet his entire £31million purse on the outcome of the Mike Tyson fight

Published

on

YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul has placed his entire $40 million (£31 million) bet on the outcome of his upcoming fight against boxing legend Mike Tyson. The fight, which will take place next Friday in Dallas, will be Tyson’s first professional fight in almost two decades.

Considering he is 31 years younger than the former undisputed heavyweight champion, Paul is the bookmakers’ favorite to win. During the pre-main event bout, Paul accepted bets from several undercard fighters, including Neeraj Goyat, who bet his $1 million house.

Katie Taylor, who is ready for a rematch with Amanda Serrano, went a step further. When Paul asked her how much she wanted to bet, Taylor replied, “Do you want to bet your wallet?” Without hesitation, Paul agreed, saying, “Yes, let’s put the bag down. Deal” and shook Taylor’s hand.

While many doubt whether the bets will hold, Paul insists that contracts will be signed before Friday evening. Earlier this year, Paul bragged about his earnings from his 12th professional fight.

When asked if he brought Tyson in to “legitimize” his boxing career, Paul replied: “I didn’t bring him in for any shit; “I’m here to make $40 million and knock out a legend I don’t want.” don’t worry about anything else, he wanted it to be a professional fight and he really will get knocked out.”

Paul doesn’t hold back before fighting the legendary Tyson, boasting to reporters: “You’ll see in his record: Jake Paul knocks out Mike Tyson; I’m not here to do shit except make a bag. Every time fighters sit across from me and watch ‘YouTuber this, Disney kid that’ and they end up on the canvas… this will be no different. I offered this deal to this ancient bastard he signed with Netflix and we brought him the deal, you’re welcome my son.

Meanwhile, Tyson made the pre-fight farce clear during his latest press conference, giving terse answers and showing perceptible irritation when asked about a possible loss to Paul. “I said everything I had to say,” Tyson declared, quickly trying to deflect further questions.

But not to be silenced, he assured firmly, “I’m not going to lose.” When pressed again, his patience wore slim as he repeated, “Did you hear what I said?” In a edged response, Paul joked: “That’s cute. I’m not afraid of any man, so I want him to be wild ancient Mike.

Jake Paul again confirmed that he wants to face Canelo Alvarez and defeat Mike Tyson next Friday.

Paul will face Tyson in a controversial but highly anticipated heavyweight bout at AT&T Stadium, streaming live on Netflix.

The YouTuber-turned-boxer has been vocal about his desire to face the Mexican four-weight world champion and believes it could be staged for a cruiserweight world title shot, a weight in which Alvarez has never fought.

Canelo had previously downplayed dealing with the “Problem Kid,” but in May the 34-year-old told reporters he might give him a chance in two years.

Paul claims his fight will break Alvarez’s attendance record of 73,126 beat Billy Joe Saunders at the Dallas Cowboys Stadium in May 2021 and believes the unified super middleweight champion will have to fight him to regain his status as the face of boxing.

“It’s Canelo,” Paul said Suga Sean O’Malley.

“This moment will prove that I am the face of boxing.

“The biggest attraction and me vs. Canelo at 200 pounds for the world cruiserweight title is probably even bigger than me vs. Tyson and it makes a lot of sense.

“Canelo is on his way out.

“He will want a payday and I want to show the world that all the bullshit I talked about beating Canelo is true and I will be the most upset in the sport of boxing.

“We will fight over who the real face is because I will be running for it after this event.

“I broke his goalscoring record in Texas. I beat ticket sales and all that.”

Alvarez moved up to delicate heavyweight twice, knocking out Sergei Kovalev to win the WBO title in November 2019, but failed to capture the WBA title in May 2022 against Dmitry Bivol.

The WBC approved Alvarez’s request to fight then-WBC cruiserweight champion Ilunga Makabu in November 2021, and considering that fight never happened, Paul believes the Guadalajara native will still want to win the cruiserweight belt.

When asked if he thought Alvarez would agree to face him, the 27-year-old replied: “He will.

“The reason is that he will want to win his fifth title in the weight division.

“He wanted to win the cruiserweight belt.

“He was going to challenge Makabu to become the cruiserweight champion, so he wants to conquer that division so he can call himself the cruiserweight champion, and that’s where the fight makes sense.

“I can’t make 175 pounds, so this fight should be for the belt and it makes the most sense at cruiserweight.”

Tony Bellew sent off as Jake Paul vs Mike Tyson press conference descends into chaos

Published

on

Former world champion Tony Bellew was kicked out of Mike Tyson’s press conference with Jake Paul after he went on a tirade against the YouTuber. Bellew is in Texas for Tyson’s heavyweight clash with Paul on Friday and interrupted the press conference to criticize Paul.

However, the stunt backfired when Bellew’s microphone failed and no one could hear the former cruiserweight champion. He was then awkwardly escorted out of the room by security as a confused Paul looked on.

Bellew has consistently criticized Paul, who has built a boxing career since his professional debut in 2020. In his 12th professional fight, he will face 58-year-old Tyson, and his only defeat was last year against Tommy Fury.

Earlier this week, Bellew criticized Paul for the Tyson fight. He said The best books about sports Offsore: “Mike Tyson is a grandfather.

“He is 58 years vintage. He’s approaching 60 and fighting a man who’s not even half his age. Disney Boy is attacking grandparents right now. It’s really scary. We might as well go to the nursing home and start digging out some of them.”

“If Mike shows up and puts his right hand on him, he will fall asleep. So who should he fight? 70 years vintage? If he wins, will he continue to play like this as he gets older? Is he going to come down? Will he face a real boxer?”

Despite a break from Bellew, Tyson remained largely hushed just two days before returning to the ring. The boxing legend last fought four years ago when he and Roy Jones Jr ended in a dull draw after eight rounds.

However, Paul had doubts whether Tyson would keep his promise and knock out the social media sensation. “He says he’s going to kill me, doesn’t he? I want this killer, I want there to be no excuses when I knock him out.”

Asked if Tyson had called him a “fabricated killer”, Paul replied: “Whatever you want to think, everyone is entitled to their opinion, but the deadliest weapon in the world being produced is nuclear weapons.

“Someone is put to sleep, it will be a war. We’re both weighty hitters and it doesn’t go the distance.
