Farce Misfits 19 as Dawood Savage falls to the floor and stops fighting with Deji

Published

on

The Misfits 19 fight between Dawood Savage and Deji ended in farce on Thursday night when the defeated boxer fell to the floor in his final action of the night seconds after being punched. The fight ended early in the third round with Deji claiming the victory.

Savage and Deji made their way to the ring on the undercard ahead of the highly anticipated clash between AnEsonGib and Slim Albaher.

Nine separate fights were scheduled for the card, but the fight between HSTikkyTokky and Masai Warrior was canceled at the last minute.

Deji had won only two of six fights in his career before his bout with Savage, but he was the bulky favorite because his opponent had lost all six of his previous fights.

The Briton, who is KSI’s brother, entered Simon Says alongside Pharoahe Monch and seemed focused on the task at hand.

A minute into the first round, he hurt his opponent with a huge left hook and held his position in the center of the ring while Savage danced around the outside.

Deji seemed reluctant to throw punches in the second round, which left those around him furious as they told him, “What are you doing? Go to the fucking war, man.

Early in the third round, Savage hit the canvas after grabbing his chin, but the referee allowed him to continue. Deji was then forced to dodge a series of punches as his rival tried to retaliate.

Deji once again caught Savage in the temple area as he was illustrating his willingness to throw punches. And strangely enough, Savage waited a few moments before falling to the ground.

After the fight, Deji insisted that he noticed in the first round that he was a “level” better than Savage, adding: “I thought that performance was really bad.”

He later took it up X (formerly Twitter) and wrote: “Disappointed with this performance, but we’re going again! Greetings to everyone who supported me.”

KSI entered the ring after the contest and teased a fight in 2025, before turning around and declaring that he was going to do “what’s best for the business” by being “the best CEO there is.”

After Deji’s match, a fight broke out between King Kenny and Salt Papi. Salt Papi won in the third round after landing a monster right hook that knocked King Kenny to the floor.

HS TikkyTokky vs. Maasai Warrior – 18:30

Deji Olatunji vs. Dawood Savage – 6:00 p.m

Fans will undoubtedly be watching early as Deji Olatunji – brother of social media star KSI – returns to the ring. The boxing community has been waiting for Deji to fight again for some time, as it has been over a year and a half since his last fight, in which he defeated Swarmz.

Deji always brings excitement to his fights and will certainly be eager to secure a knockout at the Lusail Sports Arena.

Jarvis Khattri vs. Ben Williams – 5:30 p.m

Jarvis Khattri will defend his Misfits welterweight title against rising star Ben Williams on Thursday at 5:30 p.m. The undefeated Irishman, who has brought a breath of fresh air to the world of influential boxing, has three knockout victories to his name and could potentially dethrone Jarvis, whose only defeat in his career was against Gib.

NichLmao vs. Warren Spencer – 5 p.m

At 5:00 p.m. NichLmao will face a recent opponent, Warren Spencer. Originally scheduled to fight Jay Swingler in a long-awaited rematch, Spencer stepped up after Swingler had to withdraw due to health reasons.

Spencer comes into the match on the back of a knockout loss to Ben Williams earlier this year, while NichLmao drew against Luis Alcaraz Pineda in his last match.

Lil CraCra vs. YuddyGangTV – 4:30 p.m

The Doha fight card, which takes place on Thursday at 4:30 p.m., will feature an epic trilogy fight between Lil CraCra and YuddyGangTV. Their previous fight in March ended in a no contest, but YuddyGangTV prevailed in their second fight two months later.

Chase DeMoor, despite a hard start to his career, has recently gained momentum and enters the fight after a brutal victory over Terrick Maven.

Luis Alcaraz Pineda vs. Swarmz – 15:30

Misfits fight night wouldn’t be complete without Luis Alcaraz Pineda on the card. Despite losing to KSI in his debut two years ago, Pineda has been on a warm streak since then, defeating BDave, Ice Poseidon, and most recently Ed Matthews.

Swarmz, on the other hand, has already suffered losses to KSI, Deji, and Ed Matthews, with his only victory coming last year against Ryan Taylor.

Amir Anderson vs Neeraj Saini fight – 15:00

Fans are eagerly awaiting Amir Anderson’s return to the ring. After a devastating knockout victory in his debut earlier this year, Anderson will be looking to build momentum.

DAZN is broadcasting Edwards vs Yafai live on TV worldwide Eddie HearnMatchroom promotes the bill.

Edwards (21-1, 4 KO) enters this fight as a boxer, not a puncher.

“Showtime” won the IBF world title in April 2021 after a masterclass against Moruti Mthalane and defended four times before losing to the talented fighter Jesse “Bam” Rodriguez in December 2023 in an attempt to unify as the WBO champion dominated before forcing him to retire after nine rounds.

2020 Olympic gold medalist Yafai (8-0, 6 KO) was on his way to winning world titles, with his professional debut coming in a 10-round stoppage of Carlos Bautista to win the WBC International title.

Since then, the 31-year-old southpaw has defended the belt five times, and Yafai added to his momentum with two wins this year, stopping Agustin Gauto in the eighth round in April and then warming up for Edwards with a third-round stoppage of Sergio Oroczo Oliva in September.

Conway argues with Kelly

The vacant Commonwealth middleweight title is up for grabs on the undercard, and Kieron Conway (21-3-1, 6 KO), who is on a three-fight win streak since a decision loss to Austin “Ammo” Williams in 2022, should have too much for former Midlands Area champion Ryan Kelly (19-4-1, 8 KO).

Walker meets Ritson

At the crossroads of welterweight fights, Conah Walker will face Lewis Ritson (23-4, 13 KO) over 10 rounds.

Smith is back

Katie Taylor’s boxing dream dealt a blow as coach asks ‘if the ship has sailed’

Published

on

Katie Taylor’s dream of a marquee clash in Croke Park appears to be hanging in the balance, with her coach questioning the feasibility of the event.

The Irish boxing star had ambitions of showcasing his talents at the esteemed Dublin arena, which has a capacity of 80,000, but has so far had to settle for the much smaller 3Arena, which has a capacity of just 9,000, to stage his triumphant fights against Chantelle Cameron.

Fresh off a win over Amanda Serrano and facing the potential loss of one of his titles, coach Ross Enamait suffered another loss, expressing reservations about the prospect of Taylor achieving his ultimate goal.

Speaking to Radio Kerry, Enamait noted: “I know it’s right to say she wants to fight here and there, but when we’re there we just don’t see anyone. There may be eight people or 80,000, we still have to go out on the field and win this fight.

“[Katie] she probably wants to fight in Vegas someday because she’s never done it, and in Croke Park, I know it’s kind of – it’s happened off and on, I don’t know if it’ll ever happen. [It] that would be nice, but I don’t know if the ship has sailed yet.

Despite previous talks between Croke Park directors and Matchroom magnate Eddie Hearn, no agreement has been reached, largely due to the prohibitive costs of staffing and security measures.

“Croke Park is truly a dream come true,” Taylor said in 2022. “I’ve been a professional boxer for six years and I haven’t really fought at home, so I’m looking forward to this fight coming home. I hope it happens.”

Taylor is currently expected to relinquish her WBC lightweight title, having not competed at 135 pounds since her victory over Karen Carabajal over two years ago.

The governing body will decide on the matter at its meeting next month.

A third welterweight fight with Cameron appears likely after Taylor’s second win over Amanda Serrano earlier this month in the co-main event of Jake Paul’s triumph over Mike Tyson, from which she won by unanimous decision.

However, her impressive 24-1 record may soon come to an end, as she previously admitted she feels she has “one or two more fights left.”
