Eddie Hearn and Ryan Garcia’s father, Henry, got into an argument backstage following Ryan’s victory over Devin Haney, whom Hearn was promoting at the event, but the anger did not last long.
Hearn was being interviewed in a moment where he expressed “great respect for Ryan Garcia, he was amazing” as Henry walked by. Hear turned his attention to Henry and offered his congratulations.
“You’re a piece of shit,” Henry said, to which Hearn replied: “Oh really? Fuck you!”
The two exchanged words at this level for a moment.
“Fuck you, you know you’re a piece of shit,” the elder Garcia said. “And that’s what you get! What will you say now? Luke Campbell and fucking Devin Haney, fuck you!”
Garcia then grabbed his crotch, and Hearn chuckled and asked the promoter, “Who do you have now?”
Hearn quickly responded: “Jaron Ennis,” the welterweight titleholder recently signed with Matchroom Boxing. Ryan Garcia said after the fight that he officially plans to move up to welterweight.
Henry then stopped, began to approach Hearn in a gentler stance, and suggested, “How about Pitbull?” referring, of course, to Isaac “Pitbull” Cruz, who fights for Premier Boxing Champions, not Matchroom, and is actually a 135-pound fighter who just won the 140 belt by defeating Rolly Romero.
Hearn and Henry then shook hands and relaxed a bit, apologizing to each other and showing respect.
It’s actually a really entertaining moment, with emotions everywhere, a man defending his son when he felt he was being disrespected, just to lighten the mood about Jaron “Boots” Ennis. fire.
Jaron Ennis is peace. He is love.
