‘Disgusting’: Carl Froch tears up Jake Paul vs. Mike Tyson fight
Published

J. HumzaCarl Froch has had numerous arguments with Jake Paul over the past few years and is not a fan of Jake Paul’s announced July 20 fight against Mike Tyson.
Froch, now 46, says he doesn’t see what 27-year-old Paul can really gain from fighting 57-year-old Tyson.
“A newborn kid being a bully – what does he gain from fighting Mike Tyson? What exactly does Jake Paul feel he’s achieving by beating a nearly 60-year-old guy?” Froch asked in the latest episode of his Froch series on Fighting YouTube.
“He has nothing to prove. The guy gives it his all. Finished. Pipes and slippers a long time ago. That means it probably peaked in the early 1990s. 30 years have passed and he is no longer a boxer. He stabilized and finished the game.
Was Jake Paul Really Badly Advised? I mean, whoever tells Jake Paul that it’s a good idea to fight Mike Tyson – Jake Paul is fighting an aged man, so if he wins, he’ll beat the aged man. People will say, “What did you prove there?” If he loses, he will lose to the aged man.
“People who don’t understand boxing might get excited about it. “He’s still Iron Mike Tyson, the gigantic bad guy,” and yet he got hit. The power of a punch is the last thing that leaves a professional fighter. Your reflexes decrease, your fitness decreases, your impact resistance decreases. If that goes away, imagine Jake Paul knocking out Mike Tyson.
“It just sounds disgusting to me. You’re hitting an aged man. This is wrong in every possible way.”
About Jake Paul’s boxing career
“Jake Paul has a petite demographic, a TikTok audience, and I don’t give a damn about them, but they’re all very newborn. They are the ones who are stupid enough to follow this shitty career that he is involved in, this imitation boxing career that he has been involved in for some time.
“He was exposed by Tommy Fury and I thought that would be the end of him. I don’t think Tommy Fury is good enough to win the British title. I’m not giving him any stick, he’s an aspiring pro and Jake Paul lost to him.
“Who was he fighting? He was fighting an aged man, Anderson Silva, and that seemed to be the solution, the shot missed and Anderson Silva went to the floor. Then he fought two bums, I don’t even know who these guys are, but they looked like a warm mess, they looked like they didn’t belong in a boxing ring, and Jake Paul hits them with one shot and they’re rolling around on the floor.”
About Paul vs Tyson odds
“I think Mike Tyson is the underdog, rightfully so. Jake Paul is the gigantic favorite, but the guy is in his 20s and he’s fighting someone 30 years older than him.
“Do I see a world where Mike Tyson could potentially beat Jake Paul? The last thing to pay attention to is the impact force, but he probably has a 15-20 second burst and then when he runs out of steam because Jake Paul is getting out of the way at first, it’s going to shoot out of his ass. , Mike Tyson, and will be a sitting duck. This will be targeted training. So I don’t think Mike Tyson has got a chance to strike.
“Of course, if it landed on Jake Paul’s chin – I mean, how fucking good would that be? I would love it if Mike Tyson walked into the ring and punched Jake Paul in the chin and flattened him. That would mean that all his bullshit and hype and all his talking, all his being a greedy tyrant fighting Mike Tyson would backfire, but I just don’t see that happening.
“I just don’t understand how a guy who’s almost 60 and has never been anywhere near a gym – of course we see clips of him looking decent on the pads for two or three seconds that have been cropped, but he’s not an athlete anymore. He’s a retiree, an aged man, and I don’t mean that in an offensive way, that’s just who he is.
“You have Jake Paul, who really works out in the gym a lot. He’s not a professional boxer and never will be, because he’s shit and can’t fight. If you’ve seen him fight, he’s useless. He’s just a tyrant. But he will beat Mike Tyson because he is 20 years aged. Time waits for no one. Mike Tyson is just too aged.”
Froch’s message to Jake Paul
“Jake Paul, you are an absolute bitch. I saw you fighting. I saw you lose to Tommy Fury. What a shitty fight that was. I’ve never seen anything so shitty in my life. Why do you still put on gloves, lace up your shoes and call yourself a professional boxer? You’re a clown, you’re a damn shame and you should be ashamed of yourself.
“I have never had a personal disagreement with Jake Paul. He was the one who called me. He mentioned my name in some stupid interview he gave because he doesn’t like the fact that I don’t appreciate him and praise him in the boxing world, because he doesn’t deserve it, because he can’t box.
“You had a chance to fight me because you talked, used my name in some bullshit, and then you threw Anderson Silva into the mix. You said, “Fight Anderson Silva and prove yourself and I’ll fight you.” Well, I put you in a box right away, didn’t I? I said, “Come on, let’s do it.” I threatened to send him into orbit and he fell quiet. Completely quiet. I didn’t want to know.
“Because you know, even though I’ve been retired for 10 years and I’m 20 years older than you, you know you can’t risk fighting someone like me. …You’re not going to fight me, are you? You do not have balls. You’re just a fucking tyrant. It pisses me off because Mike Tyson is such an icon, such a legend in the world of boxing, and you disrespect him, or rather yourself.
“You are a disgrace. It just shows who you are. Here you have a guy who’s 20 years older than you, who doesn’t work out at the gym, and you’re quiet. You filled the diaper as soon as I called you. … All these excuses: “Oh, Carl Froch definitely needs the money, he definitely wants the paycheck,” he laughs it off and pushes it aside. He has no intention of approaching me.
“He talks, I put it on him and said, ‘Let’s go,’ and I’m not trying to make money. I will fight you for the pure love of it, I will fight you for fun, and you can write these words in a contract, I will fight you for free, because you need to stop doing what you are doing.”

Shakur Stevenson officially signs with Matchroom Boxing ahead of his comeback
Published
12 minutes agoon
January 12, 2025Shakur Stevenson is no longer a free agent, as Matchroom Boxing announced today that it has signed the WBC lightweight champion ahead of his title defense against Joe Cordina on October 12.
“I am ready to begin the next chapter of my career, which begins on October 12 with Joe Cordina on the season card in Riyad, Saudi Arabia,” Stevenson said.
“I made it clear that I wanted the biggest names and the biggest fights in the sport. Put William Zepeda on top in 2025 and I’ll be ready for anyone brave enough to step into the ring with me. In recent years, there have been few people willing to take up this challenge.
With Matchroom and Riyadh Season, I am joining forces with a promotional force that matches my world-class talent. We will be unstoppable in and out of the ring, and I will continue to demonstrate my dominance in boxing for many years to come.”
The press release did not specify how long their cooperation will last. Juliusz Julianis previously reported that Stevenson (22-0, 10 KO) was only going to stay with them for one fight, but it appears he will be working with Matchroom for the Zepeda fight as well. Considering how close Matchroom is to Golden Boy, this seems like the easiest way.
Earlier this year, the WBC announced that Zepeda would be a mandatory fighter, but according to Mike Coppinger, Zepeda wanted to delay it in preparation for the birth of his child.

Eddie Hearn still intends to fight Chris Eubank Jr against Conor Benn
Published
22 hours agoon
January 11, 2025Matchroom promoter Eddie Hearn is yet to give up on his dream of creating a version of Eubank vs Benn for this generation, despite facing several hurdles in previous attempts. Chris Eubank Jr has openly stated that he is still interested in fighting Conor Benn, and Eddie Hearn is behind it and expects that they may be able to arrange it in the first quarter of 2025.
Hearn in Eubank Jr included Benn on his hit list
“Chris Eubank Jr means one thing, it starts with an ‘m’, ends with a ‘y’ and has a ‘one’ in the middle. It’s written “money”, that’s all he cares about. He doesn’t care about the legacy, he doesn’t care about the championship, he wants the money. And the monks are supposed to fight Conor Benn.
“So, Chris Eubank Jr, you can talk about this fight, talk about that fight, but if you want the money, let’s play. And we will play in the first quarter of 2025.”
About Benn’s current situation
“Just as. We are waiting for the decision, he is settling matters with his lawyers. “Hopefully he will be ready to fight at the end of this year, but no doubt in early 2025, and he is ready to go straight into a money fight with Chris Eubank.”
On Eubank we also ask about Billy Joe Saunders and ask if we will ever see him back in the ring
“I hope so. Billy Joe is an amazing fighter, but each day that passes makes this less likely… that’s a long time out of the ring, but Billy’s biggest problem is that it’s a double-edged sword – he’ll want to say “well, give me a date and give me a plan” , and we’ll want to say, or someone else will say, “well, you have to show us that you’re eight or nine weeks miniature,” because I don’t want to book a venue, book everything and you’ll come to training.
“Like he probably couldn’t concentrate without a date, without an opponent, like a lot of fighters. So I’d love to see Billy go away and spend seven or eight weeks before camp at his actual camp and come back and say, “Listen, I’m here, let’s go.”

Hurd vs Rosario: Free live stream, round by round, start time

January 10, 2025Results:
It’s another Wednesday night ProBox and we have live coverage from Bad Left Hook! Tonight, Jarrett Hurd and Jeison Rosario meet in the ProBox TV main event, which will be a 10-round middleweight bout.
The show starts at 8pm EST, so join us for the full live coverage in the comments section below!
Hurd (25-3, 17 KO) was the unified 154-pound champion, winning back-to-back fights over Tony Harrison, Austin Trout and Erislandy Lara, earning him a reputation as an action fighter with deadly power. A surprising loss to Julian “J-Rock” Williams in 2019 showed that earlier battles had taken their toll, with the theory supported by subsequent decision defeats to Luis Arias and stoppage to Armando Resendiz.
Rosario (24-4-1, 18 KO) was also the junior middleweight champion, defeating J-Rock Williams via 5th round TKO in Williams’ first defense of the Hurd belts. Rosario then lost his first title defense to Jermell Charlo by KO-8, lost again the next time by KO-6 to Erickson Lubin, and lost his only significant fight since against Brian Mendoza in 2022, also by knockout.
Without disregarding their significant achievements from 4-5 years ago, both men have clearly seen their best moments in recent performances. But either one or two wins could separate him from another significant shot at the wide-open middleweight division, and both fighters have enough value to lend a hand revive the reputation of tonight’s winner.
