Akitsugi vs Ramirez: Free live broadcast, round by round, start time

Results:

Wednesday night’s live coverage returns to Bad Left Hook! Tonight, Katsuma Akitsugi and Eduardo Ramirez meet in the ProBox TV main event, which is a 10-round bantamweight bout.

The show starts at 8pm EST, so join us for the full live coverage in the comments section below!

Akitsugi (10-0, 1 KO) is fighting for the first time since May 2022. In the past, he fought in the qualifying rounds for several Golden Boy and Showtime galas, most recently supporting the Zurdo Ramirez vs. Dominic Boesel I’m gala, which I’m sure everyone remembers fondly. He’s only 26, so he has plenty of time left if this fight can revive his dormant career.

Ramirez (22-3-3, 16 KO) is 28 years ancient and returns to ProBox following a 9th round KO loss to Ramon Cardenas in April. His most notable fight was a first-round TKO loss to Nick Ball at York Hall in November 2022. Outside of these two fights, he has only fought in Mexico.

Jack Catterall wants to stay energetic to fight for the world title

Jack Catterall wants to stay active to fight for the world title

With Jack Catterall expected to return quite soon after his victory over Josh Taylor, he will appear on August 24 where he will face former titleholder Regis Prograis. In an interview with DAZN, Catterall talks about his justification for the rematch with Taylor and what he expects from the fight with Prograis.

Catterall on how good it is to have an official victory over Josh Taylor

“There was probably a few years of frustration after the first fight, probably before the first fight, and it was something that had to be done. I was lucky enough to do that a few weeks ago in Leeds and for me that chapter is now over. It’s 2-0, it’s over and we can move on. On August 24, we conquered Regis Prograis and that’s what I’m focusing on now.

About getting back into that fight with Regis Prograis quickly, rather than waiting for a world title opportunity to arise

“I’ve been in positions like this before, I was No. 1 in the WBO rankings, waiting for that world title opportunity and it took me a while to get there. I’m not prepared right now to sit and wait for the perfect scenario where you fight for the world title. I have to get into the swing of things, I have to stay busy and energetic. These are the fights I told my manager, promoters and my team that I wanted and I think it’s a great fight that will put me in a position to continue to fight for the world title.

“I know what awaits me. On August 24, I will face a tough fight with a two-time world champion who is hungry to win the title three times. I don’t have a world title in my hands yet, it’s something I’ve dreamed of for many years and I believe beating Regis is one step closer to that.”

Nate Diaz wins boxing rematch with Jorge Masvidal

Nate Diaz wins boxing rematch with Jorge Masvidal

Nate Diaz gained revenge on Jorge Masvidal tonight, winning a majority decision in a 10-round boxing rematch of his 2019 UFC fight.

One of the judges fought the fight even with the score 95-95, which was broken by two points in favor of Diaz 97-93 and 98-92.

Diaz, who is currently 1-1 in boxing following a loss to Jake Paul last year, isn’t going to fool anyone into thinking he’s a great boxer, but he has a dedicated, sizable fan base that has reportedly helped sell more than 18,000 tickets he’ll fight tonight in Anaheim for this match, and if he can continue to find fights like the ones he did against Masvidal and Paul, he’ll potentially have more years of making money as a fighter ahead of him.

The crowd was also quite entertained with what they paid for in the main event, and while the form on display certainly isn’t on par with real top (or mid-level) boxing, that’s really all that will matter as long as Diaz continues to find success in these events .

Shane Mosley Jr spoiled Daniel Jacobs’ return to the ring, winning a near unanimous decision over 10 rounds with scores of 99-91, 99-91 and 100-90. The 37-year-old Jacobs (37-5, 30 KO) didn’t have much in the ring, and Mosley (22-4, 12 KO) won his fifth victory in a row without any major problems.

You really wouldn’t expect to see Jacobs again after this performance, but you can’t write it off. It’s boxing, and boxers box for money. There have been bigger names than Jacobs cashing checks over the years. As for Mosley, the win is what it is and nothing more, but it is noteworthy enough that he will be included at 160 or 168 in the future, and both of those divisions have room for noteworthy fights. He called for a fight against 160-pound titleholder Erislandy Lara.

In the next fight between former MMA fighters, Chris Avila won a six-round unanimous decision over Anthony Pettis with scores of 58-56, 59-55 and 59-55. This now means that Chris Avila is a better boxer than Roy Jones Jr, whom Pettis defeated in eight rounds about 15 months ago.

Nate Diaz and Jorge Masvidal fight again tonight, this time in a boxing ring, headlining a pay-per-view event from Los Angeles. The show will begin at 9 p.m. EST, and we’ll be reporting live here throughout the evening.

Diaz and Masvidal fought at UFC 244 in 2019, with Masvidal scoring a third-round TKO after a medical stoppage. Since then, Masvidal was 0-4 in MMA, and Diaz was 1-1 in MMA after their fight. Diaz started his professional boxing career, if that matters, last year with a loss to Jake Paul. Masvidal has a boxing fight under his belt, a low-profile win dating back to 2005.

The gala will also feature Daniel Jacobs’ return to a super middleweight fight against Shane Mosley Jr. Jacobs hasn’t fought since a controversial loss to John Ryder in early 2022, while Mosley has four straight fights in the same period.
