It’s another Wednesday night of boxing in Florida! Tonight, Lester Martinez and Joeshon James will meet in the ProBox TV main event, which will be a 10-round super middleweight bout.

Martinez (18-0, 15 KO) is a ProBox veteran who won by knockout in the 4th round against Lucas de Abreu in July 2023. His last appearance was the June fight with Carlos Gongora, which Martinez won by a very unanimous decision of the judges.

James (9-0-2, 5 KO) feels very comfortable as the B team against undefeated prospects after going 2-0-2 in four opportunities, with the most notable upset coming after a first-round knockout against David Stevens last October. In his last fight, he won a wide decision over Vaughn Alexander at ProBox.

Edgar Berlanga slammed Golden Boy promoter Oscar De La Hoya, who, unsurprisingly, was the main critic of Saturday’s fight between Canelo Alvarez and Berlanga.

“Guys like Oscar De La Hoya are trying to destroy my reputation, destroy Canelo’s reputation, trying to say that we won’t sell any tickets, that the PPV numbers – no one will buy, it won’t exceed 100,000. . He’s a female dog and if I see him, I’ll kick his head.” – Berlanga he said.

“He’s just upset, he’s just upset that he’s aged. He’s got a guy like Canelo, who’s a real Mexican, that’s unquestionable, and I know where his hatred comes from. It is true that De La Hoya wanted to sign Berlanga when the fighter parted ways with Top Rank in early 2023, which has been documented. We all fully understood that Canelo and De La Hoya have a real beef, which came to airy earlier this year when Canelo fought Golden Boy’s Jaime Munguia, and Canelo even accused De La Hoya of trying to steal money from fighters.

“Probably better than my best result in beating Daniel. I respect him as a fighter. Yes I know. He’s very, very talented and I like… I look for the positives in people and I like the family, the synergy with the family. It plays an essential role, it plays a huge role, the influence that families have on a player’s career. I think that helps Daniel along the way.”

On whether he is disappointed that the fight with Wilder didn’t happen

“No, the fight can still happen. For me, why not? I’ve always said it’s not a gigantic deal to me, it just is what it is. I’m paid to fight. I often fought for free. Now I get paid to fight, so there’s no problem. Let’s say we get rid of the dazzling lights and the bullshit and all that, it’s just a fight. So yes, I would fight Wilder.”

Is he surprised how quickly Dubois reached a major world title?

“Yes. They believe in him, that’s why they keep giving him these opportunities. Someone believes in him, and he gets opportunity after opportunity. It reminds me of the story of Frank Bruno, he had opportunity after opportunity to fight for the heavyweight championship of the world and sooner or later he will achieved.

About what motivates him to continue fighting

“One of the main reasons right now is my community. I want to fight for charities because I want to start sustainable charities… I believe in sustainability and creating an ecosystem, and I’m fighting now not just for myself – because I have everything I need, not in the sense that I have everything I need, but I’m quite joyful with what I need. I am well, I am joyful, I have enough sweatpants, I have enough sneakers, I am blessed. Now it’s even more so because we’re trying to create something that will aid other people. So when I fight, I’m fighting the spirit of the thousands of people I’m trying to aid. So it’s just not for me.”
