Tyson Fury claims to have retired from boxing at the age of 36.
Fury suffered, among others, second defeat in a row against Oleksandr Usyk in December, he failed to become a three-time world heavyweight champion.
After the fight, the Morecambe fighter was shy about his future, but now he says his career is over.
“Hi everyone, I’ll keep this low and sweet,” Fury said Instagram.
“I would like to announce that I am leaving boxing.
“It was great fun.
“I loved every minute of it.
“Let me end with this, Dick Turpin wore a mask.
“God bless everyone, see you on the other side.”
“The Gypsy King” announced that he was leaving the sport after defeating Dillian Whyte in April 2022, only to return eight months later for a third fight with Derek Chisora, which he won by unanimous decision.
In recent days, Fury has been called up by long-time rival Anthony Joshua for the long-awaited showdown this year, and “AJ” said on Saturday that the fight must take place this year.
“It’s a fight I want to see because I’m a boxing fan,” the 35-year-old said at the gala Ring Awards.
“When I’m at the local gym, everyone asks me about it.
“I don’t have many years ahead of me.
“I want to go out with a bang and make an impact.
“Be weird, [a] great character, have fun with it while you do it and go to the substantial fights.
“Tyson Fury is one of them.
“As a player, I have an obligation to give my all and that’s why I say it must happen this year.”
Fury leaves the sport as a two-time world heavyweight champion with 34 wins, two losses and one draw, as well as standout victories over Wladimir Klitschko and Deontay Wilder.

Tyson Fury is worth a drop in the ocean compared to the richest boxer in the world

January 14, 2025Tyson Fury stunned the boxing world by announcing his retirement on Monday. Despite achieving extraordinary successes, including winning the heavyweight title, the 36-year-old is not the highest-paid fighter in this discipline.
After reflecting on his second loss to Oleksandr Usyk in December, Fury shared his decision on social media: “Hi everyone. I’ll keep it compact and sweet. I would like to announce that I am leaving boxing,” Fury said. . “It was great. I loved every minute of it and I’ll end with this: Dick Turpin wore a mask. God bless everyone. See you on the other side. Get up!”
Fury’s announcement came as a surprise considering many fans expected him to finalize a lucrative 2025 fight with Anthony Joshua. Nevertheless, even this potential win would not see Fury eclipse the astronomical earnings of undefeated Floyd Mayweather.
He is reported to be worth £130 million ($160 million). Celebritynetworth.com“The Gypsy King” was reportedly paid a whopping £35 million ($42 million) for his 2023 fight against former UFC heavyweight Francis Ngannou. This amount was just shy of the combined £46 million ($56 million) he earned for victories over Dillian Whyte and Derek Chisora the year before.
As for his two fights with Usyk, yes Mirror revealed that Fury secured a 70% split in his first fight with Usyk last May before agreeing to an equal share in the rematch. His total earnings from the two-fight series with Usyk were a staggering £155 million ($189 million). However, Fury would lose much of that fortune in taxes when he left Saudi Arabia.
Outside the ring, Fury has been increasing his income through various sponsorships, including WOW Hydrate, and his family life was featured in the Netflix documentary At Home with the Furys. Still, Fury’s net worth pales in comparison to former five-division world champion Mayweather.
Known as “Money,” Mayweather’s net worth is estimated at a whopping £327 million ($40 million), according to Celebritynetworth.commore than twice as much as Fury. He reportedly pocketed £205 million ($250 million) for his highly anticipated fight against Manny Pacquiao in 2015.
After retiring undefeated with a 49-0 record, Mayweather returned in 2017 to face UFC star Conor McGregor in a surprising crossover match. During the event, Mayweather pocketed a staggering £225 million ($275 million) for playing dual roles as boxer and promoter.
Outside of boxing, Mayweather recently launched Vada Properties, a joint venture with Go Partners, as part of his $3 billion portfolio and has reportedly invested £82 million ($100 million) in equity capital. In October, reports emerged that the 47-year-old had purchased 60 Recent York buildings for just over £328 million ($400 million).

Daniel Dubois explains Oleksandr Usyk’s call after the fight with Tyson Fury
Published
12 hours agoon
January 14, 2025Daniel Dubois has rejected claims that he underestimates Joseph Parker despite his focus being on his rematch with Oleksandr Usyk.
Dubois will defend his world heavyweight title against Parker next month, following his impressive victory over Anthony Joshua at Wembley last September. However, the 27-year-old is already looking for a rematch with Usyk after his controversial defeat in the 2023 fight. Despite believing he had legitimately knocked Usyk down in the fifth round, the referee deemed it a low blow.
Usyk then defeated Dubois in the ninth round and later became undisputed champion by defeating Tyson Fury last May. He then scored another victory over Fury in their Christmas Day rematch before Dubois challenged him in the ring in Riyad. Although Dubois has agreed to fight Modern Zealander Parker, he denies overlooking the former champion. “The idea is to make noise,” he replied when asked why he called out Usyk.
“This is showbiz. That’s what I want next, but first I have to deal with this guy. There’s no way I could have missed it. I’m going to strip him down and next time I want Usyk. “I have my eyes on this fight; I’m ready for it and I’m on a good streak, so keep going. I will be too much for him. I’ll be too robust and too rapid, and I’ll do everything he does better. “I’m confident. I’m not saying too much, let the fans get involved and it will be a great fight.
“He always acted like a nice guy, but when the bell rings, we’re going to try and take each other’s heads off. I’ll teach him some things there and teach him. “Those were the words of 33-year-old Parker, who was world champion for 15 months until Joshua dethroned him in 2018. Despite defeats to Brits Dillian Whyte and Joe Joyce, he won his last five fights and was given another shot at the title when Joshua refused the opportunity for a rematch with Dubois.
As he prepares to face the younger man in Artur Beterbiev’s featherlight heavyweight sequel against Dmitry Bivol on February 22 in Saudi Arabia, Parker insists he is ready to reclaim his title. “I’m very excited to fight for the world championship for the second time,” he said. “A two-time world champion sounds attractive.
“When he faced Usyk, I thought: ‘Maybe you’re looking too far ahead, there’s a fight coming up.’ I like that he is full of confidence, everything is high at the moment, but it will all end in February. “I’ve been boxing for a while now, but I feel like I’m just getting started. Now I have everything and you are in for a surprise.”

“Give it a few months…” – fans react to Tyson Fury’s departure

January 13, 2025Tyson Fury shocked the boxing world today after announcing that he was retiring from the sport at the age of 36.
Despite consecutive defeats to Oleksandr Usyk last year, Fury was expected to continue his career and face domestic rival Anthony Joshua in an extremely impressive fight.
However, there were such hopes disappeared this afternoon after “The Gypsy King” took to Instagram and announced that his time in the ring – which he described as “a blast” – was over.
The Morecambe fighter ended the video with a cryptic message that seemed to double down on his previous dissatisfaction with the outcome of his two losses to Usyk.
“Hi everyone, I’ll keep this miniature and sweet. I would like to announce that I am leaving boxing. It was great fun. I loved every minute.
“Let me end with this, Dick Turpin wore a mask.
“God bless everyone, see you on the other side.”
This isn’t the first time the ‘Gypsy King’ has announced he’s hanging up the gloves – he claimed to have retired following his victory over Dillian Whyte in 2022, only to return a few months later.
Therefore, it is safe and sound to say that not everyone is convinced that he really succeeded this time.
He will be back in a few months when he offers 250 million to fight Anthony Joshua.

It seems that most observers have doubts whether Fury is truly done with the sport.
However, there is no shortage of those who believe him and congratulate him on his successful and opulent career.
And when you talk to BBC5 livethe promoter of the two-time heavyweight champion Frank Warren did not seem to have any doubts about the authenticity of his protégé.
God bless him, this is what he wants to do and it’s great. He has done everything that can be done and is by far the best British heavyweight of his generation.
He has lots of money, he has brains and he has a wonderful family.
