Anthony Joshua’s pre-fight defeat to Daniel Dubois was blamed on “something going wrong.”

Anthony Joshua’s trainer has revealed that several factors went wrong in the run-up to the British boxer’s clash with Daniel Dubois.
Joshua fought for his third world heavyweight title but suffered a crushing defeat. The 35-year-old boxer was knocked down four times before being knocked out in the fifth round at Wembley Stadium. Joshua remains determined to regain his world title despite his fourth professional defeat in September.
As he prepares to return to the ring next year, trainer Ben Davison has shed airy on the reasons behind Joshua’s heartbreaking loss to Dubois. Speaking to talkSPORT, Davison revealed: “I know between us we know where things went wrong.”
He went on to emphasize the importance of owning up to our mistakes, stating, “It’s vital for us not to look like we’re making excuses. But there are things that went wrong that we could have done a better job inside and around. And closer to the fight. You can’t put the blame on yourself, we have to take it upon ourselves. And that’s exactly what we did.
Meanwhile, following Tyson Fury’s defeat to Oleksandr Usyk, Turki Alalshikh expressed his ambitions for the heavyweight boxing scene. Speaking to The Stomping Ground, he candidly offered his perspective on the match, stating: “I think he is [Usyk] he won, I counted, and he had four more rounds. Tyson did everything, he fought an amazing fight, but that’s boxing: there is a winner and a loser.”
Alalshikh didn’t stop there, revealing his desire for a potential rematch, saying: “Then if Dubois wins in February, I want to see Usyk and Dubois again. I want to see Tyson too, maybe with [Anthony] Joshua or something, we’ll decide. Let’s see what can happen, everything in Riyad’s season is realistic… The most vital thing is that the fans are enjoying it.
Alalshikh’s vision is clear and Eddie Hearn appears to be on the same page when it comes to Fury vs Joshua. After the Usyk vs. Fury fight, Hearn shared his feelings with DAZN: “I don’t think it’s time to start screaming, Usyk vs. Fury will happen tonight, but the reality is Tyson Fury only has one fight and that’s Anthony Joshua “. asserting it would be like this: “It’s probably the biggest fight in British boxing history, it’s something everyone will always want to see. And by the way, this wasn’t Tyson Fury who looked done, it wasn’t a flat performance, it wasn’t a tender performance, he didn’t look timid, he didn’t look like his punch resistance was in question as we talked about earlier.
He also dispelled any claims that Fury’s performance showed any signs of deterioration, commenting that he was neither tender nor indicative of a decline in immunity, as some had previously speculated. “I think Tyson Fury is still potentially at the top of his game, he’s just not good enough to be Oleksandr Usyk tonight. But for me AJ v Fury is the one, it’s the one at Wembley, I will push for his Excellency [Turki Alalshikh] for this fight, but maybe let’s leave it for another day, tonight belongs to Oleksandr Usyk. But I think Fury will have a problem with this. “All fighters do this, AJ also struggled with the loss to Dubois, you are the winner and when you get beaten it hurts and that will hurt Fury.”

Mike Tyson and Jake Paul face up-to-date ‘false’ charges as friend speaks out

January 4, 2025NFL legend and former Pro Bowler Adam “Pacman” Jones cast doubt on Mike Tyson’s high-profile comeback fight against Jake Paul, suggesting the Netflix fight was potentially “rigged.”
The Cincinnati Bengals cornerback, who is a close friend of Tyson, expressed his desire to see the youngest-ever heavyweight champion return to a “real fight.”
His comments are likely to fuel ongoing speculation about the legality of the game in Dallas, which drew tens of millions of viewers last month. Pacman has criticized social media influencer turned boxer Paul for his lack of aggression in the ring.
Despite Paul’s vehement denials of any manipulation or PR stunts, Pacman said Take back the USA: “I really think the fight was rigged because if you look at the first round, Mike hit him with a few punches and it looked like he was telling him to leisurely down.
“Did I think his feet were already in place? No, I didn’t think so. He was a little unsteady on his feet. I like Mike Tyson. I love Mike Tyson. I love watching the real fight with Mike Tyson.
The retired NFL star, who hosts “The Pacman Jones Show” on BetOnline, believes Tyson still has the potential to unleash his inner “beast.”
Pacman, who watched the fight in the ring, has since questioned the intensity of the fight: “Paul knocked out everyone else. However, with Mike he wasn’t as aggressive. He looked a little shy to me. If you had asked me this first (I would have thought), “Oh, that’s challenging.”
Unbeknownst to Pacman, Tyson revealed that in the months before the fight he had been struggling with life-threatening health problems that even required a significant blood transfusion. Even though Tyson looked torpid, tired and anxious in the fight, Pacman supported the 58-year-old’s decision to fight a man half his age.
“If he gets the go-ahead from the doctors, let him go. He’s a fucking warrior, bro.”
In a cheeky conclusion, Jones noted that he did not discuss these issues with Tyson after the fight because “he was out of the country.”
Pacman now wants to step into the ring and fight the stars, so he challenged sportscaster and former Carolina Panthers winger Steve Smith. The two have been in a long-running dispute after numerous clashes on the pitch.
“If you’re asking me to go out and fight now, three rounds. I would definitely do it. It’s obvious. “Steve Smith, I don’t like him. He’s d——-.
“He knows what he did. I don’t have to show it all.
“When I first met him as a rookie, he was a d—.” Pacman expressed his delight at having the freedom to express his opinions in all sports thanks to the BetOnline deal and talk show. He stated: “Nothing is forbidden.
“I utilize the phrase ‘politely strict’ all the time – and that’s who we are. I’m talking about facts.
“I am very pleased with BetOnline, they do a great job taking care of everything I need in terms of production and program assistance. This is just the beginning.
“Next year we will be one of the biggest shows, if not the biggest.”

Mike Tyson is unrecognizable in the first photos after the Jake Paul fight and the huge payout

January 4, 2025Former world heavyweight champion Mike Tyson appears to be enjoying some downtime after his boxing match with Jake Paul.
The 58-year-old went head-to-head with the YouTuber-turned-boxer in November, marking Tyson’s first professional match since his 2005 loss to Kevin McBride.
However, he participated in an exhibition fight against legendary boxer Roy Jones Jr in 2020 before facing “The Problem Child”. Fighting the 27-year-old was quite a challenge for “Iron Mike”, primarily due to the huge age difference.
Therefore, the experienced boxer had to take training before the match very seriously. Tyson impressed many with his muscular physique ahead of his heavyweight clash.
Even though he looked great in training, he couldn’t turn back the clock on fight night because his age was evident in Texas. Although he failed to secure a knockout, Paul scored a unanimous decision victory, extending his professional boxing record to 11-1.
Seven weeks after the fight, Tyson enjoyed a well-deserved break and gained some weight. It seems that after an intense and exhausting training camp, the American is not focusing on the ring because he is spending Christmas with his family.
Before the fight with Paul, Tyson admitted that he was close to death. Taking to Twitter, the boxing icon wrote: “It’s one of those situations where you lost but you still won. I’m grateful for last night. I don’t regret stepping into the ring for the last time.”
“I almost died in June. I had 8 blood transfusions. I lost half my blood and 25 pounds in the hospital and had to fight to get better to fight, so I won.
“For my children to see me stand shoulder to shoulder and finish eight innings with a talented fighter half my age in front of a packed Dallas Cowboy Stadium is an experience no man could ever ask for. Thank you”.
The match against Paul was initially scheduled for July, but was delayed due to Tyson’s health problems on the plane.
Discussing the ordeal before the fight, Tyson revealed to Recent York Magazine: “I was in the bathroom throwing up blood.”
“I asked the doctor, ‘Am I going to die?’ He replied: “We have options.” Options? I couldn’t believe it. I had eight blood transfusions. The doctor said I had lost half my blood and almost died.
“I lost 25 pounds in 11 days. I couldn’t eat. Only fluids. Every time I went to the bathroom it smelled of tar. It didn’t even smell like shit anymore. It was disgusting.
“It threw me off [when I continued training]. All my coordination, stamina, everything was hectic on the way back. I was already at the top. I could fight him that day. Now I have to start from scratch. I just don’t give up. Sometimes I’m an asshole. I am advertising***. If I haven’t outlived my enemies, I’ve turned them into friends.”

Tony Bellew reveals the ‘melancholy part’ of Anthony Joshua vs. Tyson Fury
Published

January 3, 2025Tony Bellew admits that Anthony Joshua and Tyson Fury may be past their best moments, but he believes that the pair can organize a superfight this year.
Joshua told media in Nigeria this week that his goal is a long-awaited showdown with Fury in 2025, who lost by second time for Oleksandr Usyk last month in Riyad.
Should the fight eventually happen, “AJ” would also have suffered a loss in his last fight against Daniel Dubois, and while Bellew admits the clash may not be what it once was, the former cruiserweight world champion insists the potential fight remains one of the biggest in sports.
“I don’t think this ship will ever sail,” the 42-year-old said Express.
“Are you telling me you couldn’t get 100,000 to go to Wembley to watch these two fight? I think you’ll get 50,000 at the press conference. It’s coming, it’s going on. It’s on the charts and it’s on the charts.
“Everyone wants to see it.
“The melancholy thing is that this will happen when both products are barely past their expiration dates, as it looks like.
“It looks like it will happen [Floyd] Mayweather i [Manny] Pacquiao all over again. It was held back and held back.
“You have to remember that the only person who signed up for these fights and didn’t back out is Anthony Joshua.
“He signed a contract to fight Fury, he signed a contract to fight [Deontay] Wilder, he fought Usyk twice, he fought [Wladimir] Klitschko
“All these people signed up to fight and they took him out.
“He signed a contract with Tyson Fury and Fury had to pull out because of Wilder’s arbitration.
“He signed a contract with Wilder and Wilder pulled out because of the mess he was in with Fury.
“It is what it is. It’s a real mess, but 100 percent this fight will happen one day. This is huge.
“This is a huge event that will be a success and will likely go down in history as the largest domestic boxing match in history.”
Joshua’s promoter, Eddie Hearn plans to return in May or June for the 35-year-old, who also wants to become a three-time world heavyweight champion.
According to reports, 36-year-old Fury told friends his career was not over after his second straight defeat to Usyk.
