Jake Paul bet his entire £31million purse on the outcome of the Mike Tyson fight

YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul has placed his entire $40 million (£31 million) bet on the outcome of his upcoming fight against boxing legend Mike Tyson. The fight, which will take place next Friday in Dallas, will be Tyson’s first professional fight in almost two decades.
Considering he is 31 years younger than the former undisputed heavyweight champion, Paul is the bookmakers’ favorite to win. During the pre-main event bout, Paul accepted bets from several undercard fighters, including Neeraj Goyat, who bet his $1 million house.
Katie Taylor, who is ready for a rematch with Amanda Serrano, went a step further. When Paul asked her how much she wanted to bet, Taylor replied, “Do you want to bet your wallet?” Without hesitation, Paul agreed, saying, “Yes, let’s put the bag down. Deal” and shook Taylor’s hand.
While many doubt whether the bets will hold, Paul insists that contracts will be signed before Friday evening. Earlier this year, Paul bragged about his earnings from his 12th professional fight.
When asked if he brought Tyson in to “legitimize” his boxing career, Paul replied: “I didn’t bring him in for any shit; “I’m here to make $40 million and knock out a legend I don’t want.” don’t worry about anything else, he wanted it to be a professional fight and he really will get knocked out.”
Paul doesn’t hold back before fighting the legendary Tyson, boasting to reporters: “You’ll see in his record: Jake Paul knocks out Mike Tyson; I’m not here to do shit except make a bag. Every time fighters sit across from me and watch ‘YouTuber this, Disney kid that’ and they end up on the canvas… this will be no different. I offered this deal to this ancient bastard he signed with Netflix and we brought him the deal, you’re welcome my son.
Meanwhile, Tyson made the pre-fight farce clear during his latest press conference, giving terse answers and showing perceptible irritation when asked about a possible loss to Paul. “I said everything I had to say,” Tyson declared, quickly trying to deflect further questions.
But not to be silenced, he assured firmly, “I’m not going to lose.” When pressed again, his patience wore slim as he repeated, “Did you hear what I said?” In a edged response, Paul joked: “That’s cute. I’m not afraid of any man, so I want him to be wild ancient Mike.

Carl Froch criticizes Jake Paul vs. Mike Tyson: ‘It’s a scripted fight’
Published
17 minutes agoon
November 14, 2024Carl Froch believes the Jake Paul and Mike Tyson fight was “scripted” to give Paul a win.
Froch has been critical of Paul for years, and he’s not holding back on Friday’s fight between the YouTuber-turned-boxer and Tyson on streaming giant Netflix.
“Iron Mike,” who will turn 59 in June, will end a nearly 20-year hiatus to face the 27-year-old at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas.
The two fight over eight two-minute rounds in a professional fight, but “The Cobra” believes the fight will go to Paul.
“I think it’s a scripted fight and will last three or four rounds,” he told GB News via Casino.org.
“Jake Paul will definitely win; Tyson may start well, but then he will fall.
“Paul cannot lose. It’s in the contract, he can’t lose.
“He’s a useless idiot.”
The American rivals were supposed to fight on July 20, but the fight was postponed due to Tyson’s injury ulcer exacerbation.
Tyson, the former undisputed heavyweight champion, was questioned about fighting someone of Paul’s caliber, but Froch does not believe the outcome will have an impact on his legacy.
“I don’t think so, no,” he added when asked if the defeat would impact his legacy.
“I think it’s unlikely he would grab the microphone and start bragging after beating up an elderly man.
“If so, he really has more illusory energy than I thought.
“Mike Tyson is an iconic name after what he achieved in sport when he was physically fit and capable, but not at the age of 58.”
Tyson remained mute at Wednesday’s final press conference, insisting he was ready to fight for the first time as a professional since his 2005 loss to Kevin McBride.
Even Paul was left to handle most of the promotional issues during the press conference confrontation with those on the bottom card who chose a Brooklyn legend to beat him.
Both pairs will face each other for the last time at the weigh-in on Thursday at 6:00 p.m. Polish time.

Tony Bellew threatens to knock out three police officers after Mike Tyson and Jake Paul stunts
Published
4 hours agoon
November 14, 2024Tony Bellew threatened to “annihilate” three police officers after being kicked out of the final press conference ahead of Jake Paul’s fight with Mike Tyson.
Bellew stole the show by interrupting the press conference in a stunt organized by Paddy Power. He was accompanied by a pensioner wearing a dressing gown and boxing gloves, whom Bellew introduced as Paul’s next opponent.
As the ancient man began shadow boxing next to him, Bellew said, “Jake Paul, the biggest clown in boxing. If Mike lets you survive Saturday night, I’ve got your next opponent, Jake, here.”
Bellew was immediately ejected from the press conference and almost got into a fight with three police officers, with the former world cruiserweight champion threatening to knock them out.
He explained to talkSPORT: “They were all massive boys. One of them pushed me lightly and I said: ‘Just don’t touch me, I’ll walk around quite cheerful, boys, just don’t raise your hands. on me.” He said, “Okay.”
“When we approached the policeman with the gun in his belt, the guy lightly pushed me in the back. And I said, ‘You are an absolute coward.’ He must have been six feet eight inches elevated. I said, “Do you understand what I would do to you?”
“His partner said, ‘All the talk.’ I replied: ‘It’s not a conversation, it’s a promise. I would annihilate three of you at once. Please don’t do this».
“The policeman said, ‘You’re a fighter, aren’t you? I see how placid you were in the company of these massive boys». I replied, “I don’t really care about them, they don’t intimidate me.”
Time will tell whether Bellew will be in attendance for Paul’s match against Tyson, who is taking part in his first officially sanctioned fight since 2005. About 70,000 fans are expected to watch the fight, and it will be broadcast live on Netflix.
The event was widely criticized by boxing purists who are unhappy that the result will break Tyson’s professional record. Eddie Hearn has already confirmed that he plans to leave the arena before the main event, which he has no intention of watching.
The most significant event of this gala will be Katie Taylor’s fight for the second time with Amanda Serrano, who won her first fight by split decision two years ago.

Jake Paul names his next opponent after the Mike Tyson fight
Published
8 hours agoon
November 14, 2024Jake Paul again confirmed that he wants to face Canelo Alvarez and defeat Mike Tyson next Friday.
Paul will face Tyson in a controversial but highly anticipated heavyweight bout at AT&T Stadium, streaming live on Netflix.
The YouTuber-turned-boxer has been vocal about his desire to face the Mexican four-weight world champion and believes it could be staged for a cruiserweight world title shot, a weight in which Alvarez has never fought.
Canelo had previously downplayed dealing with the “Problem Kid,” but in May the 34-year-old told reporters he might give him a chance in two years.
Paul claims his fight will break Alvarez’s attendance record of 73,126 beat Billy Joe Saunders at the Dallas Cowboys Stadium in May 2021 and believes the unified super middleweight champion will have to fight him to regain his status as the face of boxing.
“It’s Canelo,” Paul said Suga Sean O’Malley.
“This moment will prove that I am the face of boxing.
“The biggest attraction and me vs. Canelo at 200 pounds for the world cruiserweight title is probably even bigger than me vs. Tyson and it makes a lot of sense.
“Canelo is on his way out.
“He will want a payday and I want to show the world that all the bullshit I talked about beating Canelo is true and I will be the most upset in the sport of boxing.
“We will fight over who the real face is because I will be running for it after this event.
“I broke his goalscoring record in Texas. I beat ticket sales and all that.”
Alvarez moved up to delicate heavyweight twice, knocking out Sergei Kovalev to win the WBO title in November 2019, but failed to capture the WBA title in May 2022 against Dmitry Bivol.
The WBC approved Alvarez’s request to fight then-WBC cruiserweight champion Ilunga Makabu in November 2021, and considering that fight never happened, Paul believes the Guadalajara native will still want to win the cruiserweight belt.
When asked if he thought Alvarez would agree to face him, the 27-year-old replied: “He will.
“The reason is that he will want to win his fifth title in the weight division.
“He wanted to win the cruiserweight belt.
“He was going to challenge Makabu to become the cruiserweight champion, so he wants to conquer that division so he can call himself the cruiserweight champion, and that’s where the fight makes sense.
“I can’t make 175 pounds, so this fight should be for the belt and it makes the most sense at cruiserweight.”
