A novel video has appeared online showing Tyson Fury getting irate at the judges who awarded a unanimous victory to Oleksandr Usyk on Saturday evening. All three judges in Saudi Arabia scored the fight 116–112 in Usyk’s favor, which left Fury furious.
This rematch was highly anticipated after Fury’s split decision loss to Usyk in May. The latest video, released by TNT Sports, shows Fury after the fight at the Kingdom Arena, where he adamantly claims he was “robbed” and questions the decision to stage the fight in Saudi Arabia, suggesting bias, adding: “you get nothing.” in “those countries”.
When confronted by his former trainer Ben Davison, Fury can be heard demanding an straightforward opinion: “Everyone Oscar De La Hoya said he gave me four rounds. That’s what it’s all about. They were robbed. Fuck them. What do you think I really did to Ben? To which Davison replies: “I thought it was deadly tight. I thought you were going to get it, to be straightforward.”
Before heading to the locker room, Fury insists he has confidence in his performance: “I swear to God, I thought I won by at least three rounds. I was in charge of the fight, being on the offensive all evening, told to work and everything. Fuck it. Tell you what it is, you won’t get anything in these countries.
The three judges in the ring were Patrick Morley from the USA, Ignacio Robles from Panama and Gerardo Martinez from Puerto Rico. Interestingly, despite making the same final decision, the methods by which they got in were significantly different.
They agreed on the results of rounds four through eight, ten and eleven, with each scoring 10-9 to the winner with no knockdowns or even a 10-10 round pick. However, there were disagreements in the scoring of the remaining rounds.
After the fight, Fury vented his frustration with the result during the post-fight press conference, arguing that he should have been declared the winner, stating: “The judges gave him a Christmas present. I feel like I won both fights. I know I had to knock him out, but it’s boxing and things like that happen.
“I have no doubt that I won this fight. Franc [Warren] I was three or four rounds ahead, and many people were at least two rounds ahead of me. I won’t cry over spilled milk, it’s over.
“I have been training boxing all my life, but I will always feel a little tired – not a little, but a lot.”
