Trainer Jake Paul’s brutal two-word response to Mike Tyson fight, video of which went viral
Published
3 weeks agoon
Jake Paul’s trainer J’Leon Love has rejected the notion that his student will face former undisputed heavyweight champion Mike Tyson. The clash between the two teams will take place on November 15 at AT&T Stadium in Texas, with up to 90,000 fans expected to attend.
This fight will fulfill Paul’s three and a half year ambition. “The Problem Child,” as Paul is known, comes into this fight off the back of a win over former UFC star Mike Perry in July.
Since his professional debut in 2020, Paul has been fighting regularly in the boxing ring. In his tiny career, the newborn American scored victories over Anderson Silva, Nate Diaz, Tyron Woodley and Ben Askren.
With a record of 10-1, his only loss was a points defeat to Tommy Fury last year. On the eve of next week’s gala in Texas, “The Problem Child” posted a video on his official Instagram account in which he reveals how the idea to fight Tyson came about. While talking to Love, it seemed like Paul’s coach was completely against the potential matchup.
The video, which dates back to 2021, before his fight with Askren, shows the YouTuber-turned-boxer humorously hinting at the prospect of fighting “Iron Mike.” “I just had a crazy idea,” Paul said. “Do you think I could beat Mike Tyson?” Love can be seen laughing before replying, “—- no.”
Paul then questioned his coach’s advice, asking incredulously, “Even in a year?” Love, who has experience in the ring himself, emphasized the depth of Tyson’s skill, saying: “Mike Tyson just got a —-. He knows how to do it bro, it’s just…”
Paul, 27, agreed and nodded, saying: “Tyson is a dog,” and mused: “I was just thinking about Jake Paul fighting Mike Tyson? That would be fun.”
Paul’s fantasy fight is about to materialize next week. However, since the fight was announced, the influential boxer has been bombarded with criticism for agreeing to fight Tyson.
Dismissing skeptics, the newborn American recently defended his decision during an interview TODAYstating, “A lot of people wonder, ‘Jake, why are you doing this? Even if you beat him, they will say he is ancient.”
“But for me, Mike Tyson wanted to fight me. It’s an honor. He is one of the most famed boxers in the world who has ever done this. “It’s an honor and a dream come true to be there with someone of his character. It’s going to be a show on Netflix.”
Some fans are skeptical that “Iron Mike” will take his upcoming fight seriously after the sensational revelation. In an interview with Jimmy Kimmel, the 58-year-old boxing icon stated that she trains six hours every day.
“I train extremely challenging, I practice six hours a day. I start at 11 a.m. and can leave the gym at 5 p.m.,” Tyson revealed. A clearly surprised Kimmel replied, “Oh no. 11:00? So it’s six hours straight, is there a break for lunch?”
Tyson admitted that there was indeed a tiny pause, prompting a stunned Kimmel to exclaim, “Oh no.”

Carl Froch predicts Oleksandr Usyk vs Tyson Fury 2 fight
Published
5 hours agoon
November 25, 2024Carl Froch shared a summary of the upcoming rematch between Oleksandr Usyk and Tyson Fury.
Froch correctly predicted that Usyk would defeat Fury in the first round in May, and the Ukrainian won by split decision to win all four heavyweight world titles.
The “Gypsy King” enters them. December 21st rematch with a weaker fighter, and many people are concerned about the damage he suffered earlier in the year – especially the dramatic ninth round in which he was seriously injured and fell.
And talk to casino.orgFroch admitted that he believed that his compatriot would once again not be able to cope with Usyk.
“The first fight was fierce. Or at least it was very close until Fury was knocked down in the ninth round.
“This will be intriguing. Usyk is 37 years ancient, older than Fury, but he lives life. What matters is not the age of the competitor, but the miles traveled.
“Fury has even more kilometers ahead of him after three challenging fights against Deontay Wilder and then he went to the floor against Francis Ngannou.
“I would bet on Usyk winning, probably on points. I couldn’t rule out a stoppage behind schedule in the match because if Fury decides to do it, as he suggests, that’s what he will do.
There has been much speculation as to whether Fury will change his tactics ahead of the decisive rematch, although he insists he should have raised his hand in their first fight and will therefore not be making any drastic changes.

This time, undisputed status is not up for grabs as Usyk was forced to relinquish the IBF belt, currently held by Daniel Dubois, this summer after a stunning victory over Anthony Joshua at Wembley Stadium.
There is a view that if Fury reverses the result in four weeks’ time, the next one will be the long-awaited grudge match against Joshua, although Dubois will no doubt feel he has the right to give the Morecambe man a chance.

Tyson Fury has a scathing assessment of rivals Anthony Joshua and Daniel Dubois
Published

November 25, 2024Tyson Fury has been scathing in his assessment of fellow British heavyweights Anthony Joshua and Daniel Dubois, calling them “restricted” in their preparations for their rematch with Oleksandr Usyk. Despite losing his first undisputed world title fight to the talented Ukrainian in May, Fury is preparing for an explosive rematch in Riyad just before Christmas, with three titles on the line this time.
The “Gypsy King” revealed that he will stick to his elusive boxing style, noting his unique skill set for his size. He discusses his tactics with TNT SportsFury said: “Basically the same as before, good boxing. It’s not normal for someone my height and weight to be able to box and slide, so why would I exclude that from my game? People say in my opinion I have to go to Usyk, knock him down and punch him, but if it was so basic, why didn’t Joshua, who is a gigantic, sturdy man, do it? Why didn’t Dubois do this? restricted compared to very restricted for me.”
“The man who approaches him is Christmas coming early. I’m a boxer on my side, sliding, sliding, uppercutting, hooking. I’m going to do it, but with more focus. A little more focused on my job, I think that’s my path to victory.” Fury also confirmed there would be no changes to his training squad, despite some critics pointing fingers at the influence of his father John after the previous defeat.
Fury Sr., who is Tyson Fury’s father, was one of the trio who shouted out tactical advice during the rounds of his son’s fight, benefiting from the expertise of coaches SugarHill Steward and Andy Lee. Despite some calls for a change in Fury’s corner, the heavyweight boxer remains undaunted.
“People can have their opinions… but at the end of the day, they’re not in the ring and they’re not fighting, so it doesn’t matter what they think about what’s going on in my corner. If I’m elated, the world is elated and I’m elated,” Fury said. On the other side of the ring, Usyk stated that he never felt threatened by Fury’s shots, and the disappointed fighter denied that the fight should have been stopped due to gunfire in the ninth round, replying: “It’s an undisputed fight for the heavyweight world title [so the fight should not have been stopped]”
He added: “At least a man has to get down on the floor and someone like me who has fallen many times and who gets up should at least give me one chance.” Demonstrating sportsmanship and faith, Fury accepted defeat gracefully, saying: “I believe in God very much. So I believe God has a plan for everyone and the plan was for Usyk to win this fight. And that’s what happened, it’s fair. I knew it was a tough fight. I thought I had done enough, but listen, I’m not complaining. I was elated for him. I congratulated him. I was elated that we both came home to our family safe and sound.”

Katie Taylor will be stripped of her world champion belt after Amanda Serrano’s controversial victory
Published
17 hours agoon
November 25, 2024Katie Taylor may have to relinquish one of her WBC world title belts in the coming weeks after defeating Amanda Serrano.
Taylor currently holds both the WBC lightweight and super lightweight titles, but has not competed at 135 pounds since defeating Argentine Karen Elizabeth Carabajal at Wembley Arena more than two years ago.
Caroline Dubois, the WBC interim lightweight champion, lobbied for a chance to fight for the world championship. The WBC is expected to make a decision at its convention next month.
“A lot of time has passed since then [Taylor] defended the lightweight division Katie Taylor to be stripped of world title belt after controversial Amanda Serrano win
. Caroline Dubois is the interim champion,” Mauricio Sulaiman, president of the WBC, told Sky Sports.
“Caroline Dubois won the interim championship so she could make money, become a champion and look for something in the near future.
“I hope a solution will be made. We will give Katie Taylor a much-deserved rest for a week and then we will contact them and see exactly what the plans are.”
Eddie Hearn, Taylor’s promoter, says the Irishwoman still has a wish list to fulfill before retiring, and the top priority is to fight in Croke Park.
“How much have we talked about this over the years and if there was even a time… I’ve actually said it before to be fair,” Hearn told Off The Ball.
“But it’s November now, which gives ample preparation for the summer event in Croke Park. We just saw the biggest women’s fight of all time in front of the biggest crowd of all time.
“It’s definitely… and I’ll be sincere with you, I don’t think there’s a 100% guarantee that Katie Taylor will fight again. I’m sure it will, but it will require something truly special and unique.
“We had a long conversation with her last night with (her manager) Brian Peters and she was full (of enthusiasm).
In the training room after (the fight), I felt like if she turned around now and said, ‘That’s it,’ I would be really elated in a way that you could bow down during the evening like that.
“But then she said, ‘There are a few things I really want to do, though.’ I asked ‘what is it’ and she replied: ‘Of course I would like to fight in Croke Park and I’. I would like to fight in Las Vegas.
“Then you start thinking, wow. I know the guys at Madison Square Garden were very interested in Serrano’s first fight, to do something possibly at the Sphere in Las Vegas that would be so iconic for her career – and Croke Park.
“But I think if it’s Chantelle (Cameron) back at 3Arena, or Amanda Serrano back at MSG, I’m not sure that’s really going to excite her in the same way as doing something else.”
