Tim Bradley explains how Gervonta Davis will knock out Vasily Lomachenko
Published

Tim Bradley puts on his analyst hat for a potential showdown between Gervonta Davis and Vasily Lomachenko. In the few excerpts below, Bradley describes how the fight unfolded, how he knew Tank’s upper body would eventually catch up with Frank Martin, and why he thinks the same punch could destroy Lomachenko.
Bradley on how he knew Tank’s uppercut would get Martin
“Trends. Every fighter has tendencies, man. They make certain movements, they do it constantly. I saw this during a film study. I saw Martin always falling – changing levels, falling low, almost like a wrestler. He puts on a wrestler’s attitude, he’s used to it, he was an all-state wrestler if you didn’t know that.
“And then when he does that, he raises his lead hand really high, like he’s blinding his peripheral, and I thought that would be the perfect moment… Tank will see it.
“Tank is smarter than many people give him credit for. This motherfucker is clever and watches everything. You think he’s not looking? He watches your movies… Don’t you think he watches Lomachenko? I’ve been watching for years, for years. And he feels like he knows how to beat him, trust me.
How Tank fits in with Lomachenko
“It’s a tough fight. I think it’s 50/50. I don’t think it’s 60/40, I think it’s 50/50, and the reason for that is if you don’t notice it, Tank can counterattack, so he’s always watching, he’s reactive, he’s always looking for a counterattack. Man, he reacts to feints a lot. Yes. He reacts to feints, and Loma is one of the best at feinting, knocking opponents out of position.
“So I think it will be hard. I think it’s going to be a challenge for Tank in terms of his rhythm and his timing… I think it’s going to throw Tank off a little bit, so I think it’s going to be a little bit more of a challenge because Loma knows how to change his rhythm, he knows also how to change the distance.
“Does age matter here? Maybe, yes. Can Loma be worn in combat? Yes… there is no doubt about it. But I think he’s clever and I think he can make waves in a fight.
“I really feel like Tank can win this fight and he can knock him out, and there’s a way to do it. I think he needs to get Loma back on his feet, man. He needs to reset it.
“He gets him back on his feet when he’s out of position, he attacks that body. Loma also has that high guard… lots of body exposure for Tank to take advantage of and hit him demanding, hurting him all the way to the body.
“Loma, sometimes he’ll misjudge, mistime and come from too far away, and Tank could time him. The shot I see Tank hurting him with is also an uppercut. I always felt like it was a shot that could have landed on Loma. If he lands it, it will be night, night.”

Count Ryan Garcia is another newborn boxing star seeking retirement from the sport. There are rumors that the fighter will be officially suspended by the NYSAC for at least some time after the failed drug test that led to his fight with Devin Haney, and it looks like all the drama surrounding Garcia has become too much for him to handle. . bear.
In a series of posts on X, Garcia highlights numerous issues he has been dealing with both in and out of boxing, specifically stating that his legal dietary supplements were contaminated, causing him to fail a drug test. And with his biggest career win over Devin Haney likely to be a no-contest loss at the very least, Garcia says he’s done with corruption in the sport.
“You can catch me anywhere, but when it comes to boxing, I don’t know. There is so much corruption that I am fed up. Maybe I’ll play or sing. I’ll still train, but I’m injured and I’m fed up with this and everyone. The unhappy thing is that I’m a great boxer, I entertain and knock people out. I’m unhappy because (I love) boxing,” Garcia wrote.

Garcia would then confirm his intention to retire by clearly posting the appropriate information.
“I’m officially retired.”

Naturally, most won’t pay much attention to Garcia’s rumored retirement since he’s still quite newborn and there will still be plenty of money on the table for him in the sport he grew up with – not to mention it’s becoming quite fashionable for newborn fighters to shout “retire” on social media, but they immediately look the other way, as we recently saw with Teofimo Lopez and Shakur Stevenson.
Interestingly, Garcia is apparently not the only one who will be taking some kind of break here (forced or otherwise), as Devin Haney also took to social media to announce that he will be taking a few years off from the sport to return for a rematch with Garcia ahead of schedule.
“I’ll put in some time, spend some money,” Haney wrote on X. “Travel the world and I’ll be back in two years after Ryan’s suspension and we can fight again.”

Bob Arum says Gervonta Davis vs. Vasily Lomachenko is quite realistic
Published
2 days agoon
November 3, 2024Bob Arum took some time to talk to Fight Hype about the prospects of finally securing the fight between Gervonta “Tank” Davis and Vasily Lomachenko. As Arum explains, while there was a time in the past that the fight was discussed and perhaps could have had more significance, he says there is no point in dwelling on it now and he doesn’t expect there will be much difficulty in making it happen. taking this fight now.
Arum on the likelihood of successfully negotiating the Tank vs. Lomachenko fight
“We know both fighters want this fight. So when that happens, the suits sit down and try to work out the economics and put it together, and I’m positive that they will do that and that the fight will happen. But until it’s signed, you don’t know.”
In the various networks that would have to be involved in this fight
“Don’t worry, networks cooperate. You can’t blame the network if it doesn’t fight back. It’s the people who are associated with the players who are not realistic, but I don’t think that’s the case. I think the negotiations between the parties will go very well.”
Enabled if Tank vs. Lomachenko has the highest commercial value
“I don’t know if it’s the highest result or not, but it’s the time where you can achieve it and they both have massive wins, so everything is fine. Would the fight have had more significance at another specific moment? I don’t know. Maybe. But you can’t look back on it. We’re at this point in both fighters’ careers and it’s a very intriguing, intriguing fight.”
Gary Russell Jr was quick to defend his younger brother Gary Antuanne Russell following his split decision loss to Alberto Puello over the weekend. Immediately after the defeat, Devin Haney took to social media to ridicule Russell, whom many considered in impoverished taste, if for no other reason than Haney himself, who had just suffered a beating.
Garry Russell is shit. His older brother was nice, but he adds up dog shit
— Devin Haney (@Realdevinhaney) June 16, 2024
After learning what Haney had to say, Russell Jr. he felt the need to answer.
“I saw Devin Haney say something like, ‘Antuanne Russell is shit and his older brother was nice, but he’s shit.’ Shorty, you should have kept your fucking mouth shut. My little brother is a damn dog, don’t get it twisted. Don’t be fooled, little one. Some of the best fighters, the greatest fighters in the world, took the damn L. It kind of builds character.
“You’re full of shit. My little brother left like a fucking soldier, that’s a large difference. You should have kept your mouth shut – and you got a gift, you actually got a gift, because if you had known that if he had won that fight, we would have kicked your ass next. Lomachenko kicked your ass, you have a gift for it.
“Because my little brother is so shitty, you can see him. I bet you won’t line up and raise your hand to do this, will you?…my little brother will still cook for you.
Haney, who is taking a rather brutal beating at the hands of Ryan Garcia, is hoping to turn this defeat into a victory after Garcia’s failed drug test. Meanwhile, Antuanne Russell is said to be going back to the drawing board to come back better than ever.
