Jake Paul admits his dad cried when he told him about the Mike Tyson fight

Jake Paul says his father was moved to tears when he found out he would face former heavyweight champion Mike Tyson in the ring. The 27-year-old is currently in the final stages of preparation for the fight, which will take place on November 15 at the ATandT Arena in Arlington, Texas, potentially in front of an audience of up to 90,000.

Paul first entered the boxing world in 2020 and has since risen to fame. His brief but impressive career includes wins over Tyron Woodley, Anderson Silva and Nate Diaz, with a record of 10-1. His only defeat was last year against Tommy Fury.

Known as “The Problem Child,” Paul typically faced MMA fighters in the ring, which makes his upcoming fight with Tyson a unique challenge. “Iron Mike” hasn’t competed in a professional match since losing to Kevin McBride in 2005, although he did compete in an exhibition match against Roy Jones Jr. four years ago.

Tyson, considered a heavyweight boxing legend, is a reason for many to be concerned about fighting a fighter 31 years younger than him.

At the press conference, Paul said: “Making history. That’s what I mean, man. I’m a kid from Ohio. They never give me credit. That’s how it is. water, they would say it’s because I can’t swim. And that means making history. People think I’m going to get knocked out by this forceful, powerful guy.

“All the people in my comments are saying, ‘Look at his strength. He’s about to get knocked out.» Fighting someone as fierce as Mike required risk. This is what art is all about.

What’s more, “The Problem Child” sees the fight as an honor and admits that even his father, Greg, cried when he heard about the fight with his childhood hero, Mike Tyson.

In a candid moment shared Illustrated sportshe said: “It’s an honor for me. It’s a win for both sides. I can’t believe it. My dad’s favorite fighter growing up is Mike Tyson. My dad cried when I told him about this possibility.”

He noted: “For me it’s a surreal and iconic moment. The second main event will be Katie Taylor vs. Amanda Serrano. We rank women’s boxing among the most watched events in history and, overall, it’s a win, but of course as you climb to the top of the ladder, the windier it gets. So there will be more critics, but that’s the nature of people and that’s what it is.

“The Problem Child” has carefully studied Tyson’s previous fights and suspects that Tyson will try to “trace me on the ropes and then get angled punches from both sides.”

When asked about his strategy, Paul revealed: “Just box on the outside and then employ my footwork to be more agile, get him chasing me and then attack him when he’s out of position. This should frustrate him.”

Don’t miss…

And while many fights can be thrilling, the Paul vs. Tyson fight is undoubtedly the highlight. However, the fight could end sooner than expected if the YouTuber-turned-boxer is not careful in how he approaches the 58-year-old Tyson and his ferocity.

“If Jake moves like Larry Holmes, circling around and dodging punches, maybe he can survive,” Larry Holmes explained to OLBG. “But if he doesn’t move and dodge Mike’s punches, he won’t make it. He must strike a blow. Block what he throws and throw it away. If he doesn’t fight Mike Tyson smartly, using movement and jabbing, he won’t win. If he tries to trade blows, he won’t win.

“The only way to win a battle is to flee,” Holmes added. “If he doesn’t apply jab and move, good night, Irene. If he doesn’t apply his jab, he’ll be in trouble. You have to beat Tyson, apply your jab and be the first. When the bell rings, Tyson will run at it and will have to stop Mike with a sturdy right hand and a left hook.

Carl Froch has reacted strongly to Eddie Hearn after his former promoter branded him an Anthony Joshua ‘hater’.

While interview with professional boxing fans last week, Hearn responded to Froch about his reaction to Joshua’s reaction defeat in the fifth round to Daniel Dubois last month, in which the former super middleweight champion questioned the Watford fighter’s hunger.

Froch dismissed the match-room chairman’s comments and insists he showed respect to Joshua after he was dropped four times by Dubois, dashing his hopes of becoming a three-time world heavyweight champion

“I said he fell on the shield,” the 47-year-old continued Froch About the fight.

“He was there, he took the penalty and he never gave up and stayed there.

He needed respect to stay there and not leave, and that’s exactly what I’m giving him.

“So Eddie Hearn gives me some bullshit and says I hate AJ, it’s not right, it’s inexact and that’s why I’m dragging him into it.”

Froch and Joshua have been engaged in public discussions over recent months, with ‘The Cobra’ leaking voicemails from his former stablemate and describing him as a “plastic gangster” during the height of their feud.

In July, a footballer from Nottingham claimed that theirs the dispute has been resolved and now he has revealed that he reached out to his compatriot after the devastating defeat to Dubois.

“Me and AJ go way further than Eddie Hills [Hearn] does,” he added.

“We have known each other much longer.

“I’m more concerned about his health than how much money he makes for me because I’m not a promoter who takes money when I drop fighters.

“It’s me who’s worried because I understand boxing.

“I was there. I was hit in the face.

“I know what it’s like to wake up the morning after a loss and have a concussion.

“I contacted Anthony Joshua. We had a good conversation.

“He called me a mentor, which was really nice, and I don’t think Eddie Hearn understands the relationship that Anthony Joshua and I have.

“We have a lot of respect for each other because we are both warriors, we are both warriors.”

Jake Paul warned Mike Tyson about respect and was told to run away before the megafight

Published

Boxing icon Larry Holmes has given Jake Paul a stern warning ahead of his controversial fight with Mike Tyson. The pair are scheduled to fight on November 15, and Holmes advised Paul to distance himself from Tyson in the ring.

The fight was originally scheduled to take place in July, but was postponed to next month due to “Iron Mike’s” health problems. Tyson, 58, says he is back in shape and will be ready to fight Paul in his first professional fight since 2005. The showcase gala is being held at AT&T Stadium and 90,000 fans are expected to attend. The fight will also be streamed live on Netflix.

It’s a remarkable rise for 27-year-old YouTube star Paul, who boasts a 10-1 boxing record, including notable wins over former UFC stars. Despite the 31-year age difference, boxing great Holmes is confident that heavyweight boxing great Tyson will prove a step above his class and over Paul’s other opponents, and is adamant that his only path to victory will be to exploit his speed advantage.

“If Jake moves like Larry Holmes, going around and dodging punches, maybe he can survive,” Holmes said. OLBG. “But if he doesn’t move and avoid Mike’s punches, he won’t make it.

“He needs to deliver that jab. Block what he throws and deflect it. If he doesn’t fight Mike Tyson smartly, using movement and jabs, he won’t win.

When the bell rings, Tyson will run at it and will have to stop Mike with a mighty right hand and a left hook.

Tempting the former world champion to come out of retirement, Tyson dealt Holmes the first knockout defeat of his career in 1988. Their fight was stopped in the fourth period after “Iron Mike” knocked down Holmes three times in the same round.

There is no suggestion that Tyson still possesses the same destructive power. However, Tyson’s boxing expertise and the risk of a knockout mean Paul will need to start the fight well to avoid a worrying result.

“If he doesn’t earn Mike’s respect first, Mike will run him over, believe me,” Holmes said. “He must hit Mike difficult right away, or goodnight, Irene. If he can do it, he can do it, but Mike can do it too, so it’s going to depend on who strikes first.”
